Planet: Kashyyyk System

Kashyyyk, a planet known for its violent and dangerous wildlife and its slightly less violent and dangerous natives, the wookiees, has been struck with conflict since decades. Usually centered on the slaving operations several trandoshan clans run on the planet, or the rodian and chiss poachers, recently, the Galactic Civil War has been touching the system as well, adding more bloody violence to the troubled planet.
Last night, multiple rebel ships attacked the orbital station controlling the traffic. Overpowering the small patrol the Imperial Navy had dispatched to the system, they started attacking helpless civilian ships of all kinds near the station until a scrambled imperial task force managed to drive them out and secure Kashyyyk’s orbit again.
A second attack of reinforced rebel forces managed to take control of the planet’s orbit again, only to meet the same fate as their predecessors. After this, the battle moved out of system, allowing the local civilian protection guild to conduct recovery operations in the system, trying to save the crews of several wrecked civilian transports.
It is not known what the goal of the rebel attack was, but some speculate, based upon the numerous prominent wookiees fighting for the Alliance, that it may be related to a recent imperial ground operation on Kashyyyk and was meant to disrupt traffic and supplies in preparation for a ground attack.
