Neutron Pixies win Dance Competition in Theed Palace

Date: 240208
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Two days ago, a dance competition was held in the Theed Palace. Under the eyes of Boss Nass, who would act as judge, and numerous spectators, Starstruck and the Neutron Pixies competed for the title of best dancing troupe in the Outer Rim in the stylish halls of the royal palace. Moderating the event was Chiggs Chiggli, known singer and playboy. The music to both performances was played by Shakir and The Vixens, with support from Max Rebo and his band. Assistance was provided by Ma'et Eclipse and Celox Scorpio.

The Neutron Pixies opened the event with a synchronised performance and the theme "Celebration of the Planets":

(Due to technical diffiulties, the original music was not recorded, and replaced by a studio soundtrack.)

This act was followed by Starstruck with a droid-themed and supported performance:

After careful consideration, Boss Nass awarded victory to the Neutron Pixies, and the members present - Ramona, Mae'lyn, Syrehna, Kayet and Ki'iana - were presented with a trophy from the hands of Mister Chiggli. Fireworks celebrated the event before the following ball started. Chiggs was rumored to have been flirting with a Hapes Princess during the ball, but no details are known at this point.

Imperials defeat rebel fleet in Deep Space

Date: 050208
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night, Deep Space saw the biggest space battle in years. For three hours, both Imperial and Rebel forces poured capital ships and fighters into a massive, costly battle for control over the sector. Both sides had multiple gunships as the heart of their forces, and supported them with converted freighters and dozens of starfighters.

According to unconfirmed reports, at first the rebels managed to take out an imperial command ship, before repeated attacks on their supply station and counterstrikes on their flagship drove them back. Not beaten, the alliance forces rallied, and renewed their attack, focusing on the Imperial Stardestroyer providing support to the fleet units.

The battle was finally decided when the rebel flagship, an Incom Gunship, was shot down.

This released footage shows the Imperial gunships "Cerberus", "ISS Interdiction" and a ship only identified as "Gunship 901241", ecorted by a YT-2400 freighter and several starfighters, moving out from the Stardestroyer for another attack on rebel forces:

Both sides fielded numerous bombers and fighter/bombers as well as space superiority fighters. Among the imperial forces present, Claw and Crimson Squadrons and RID provided the majority of the units and ships, together with the crew of the anonymous "gunship 901242".

Jawa shot to death in Jailbirds

Date: 240208
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Five days ago, a jawa visited Jailbirds where he promptly started to bother the serving droids. The staff asked him to cease, then to leave, but the small native humanoid would not heed the warnings, knocking over a cleaning droid and trying to pry its storage area open. At this point the club's droid security, a restored Droideka, stepped in. When the jawa attacked the droid with a blowtorch he was killed with blasterfire.

The management was cited with the following statement:

"While the death of the jawa is regrettable, security of patrons and staff comes first, and the jawa was clearly crazy and a danger to everyone, not just droids."

The identity of the jawa has not yet been released, if it is known already.

Fleet engagements intensify in Deep Space

Date: 050208
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After a period of relative peace, the Galactic Civil War is in full swing again. According to unconfirmed but usually well-iformed reports, the Rebel Alliance and the Empire clashed in Deep Space three days ago, fielding gunships as well as starfighters and patrol ships. The battle went on for over an hour, and claimed four gunships on each side as far as known.

Neither side claimed victory, so experts agree that it was a draw. Given the sector’s history, it is not clear yet whether the use of gunships will favor the Empire or the Rebel Alliance. According to a naval officer who prefers to remain anonymus, their performance is still being evaluated. He did not comment when asked if there was lobbying from shipyards hoping for stronger sales.

Pirates now using gunships – new threat to trade routes?

Date: 050208
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

One week ago, IMC shipped a cargo of ore to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell sector with the “Scipio”, a AEG-77 “Vigo” class gunship owned and operated by captain Daradyn. During refueling in the Naboo System, the “Scipio” was attacked by an unidentified Incom X4 gunship. Thanks to the crew’s quick reaction, the attacker was driven off after a short but furious fight:

However, once in the Ord Mantell system, the “Scipio” was attacked again, by the same attacker, who managed to escape again. IMC did not comment on the tenacity of the attacker other than to deny any speculation concerning the cargo it shipped.

With pirates using gunships, freighters are now at even bigger risks. Experts are not sure whether the trend among independent captains will go toward using better armed ships themselves, or bigger convoys, or faster ships.

Axov Pirop alive?

Date: 020208
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

According to recent rumors, Axov Pirop, thought to have died in a speeder crash in a rock garden in Farpoint Valley three months ago, is alive. He has been seen, or so reports say, on Tatooine, but no pictures have been taken or other evidence has been presented.

Axov Pirop supposedly already re-entered politics, being one of the prime supporters of the city of Belasqua. So far, no information about either has been released, nor has any explanation why Axov Pirop would have passed for death for months come forth. Speculations about a possible involvement with criminals have arosen though, related to Axov frequenting not only less than lawful planets and towns, but also through his rumored associations with several shady people.

Another possibility is that this Axov is actually a conman, trying to get his hands on Axov's estate. So far, no heirs are known
