Coronet has come under attack by what might be the last remaining Imperial Troops on the planet. Supported by two "Lancer" frigates who bomb the city from above the stormtroopers attempt to take the capital of Coronet. Given the defeat of the Imperial troops in the sector, their motives for this attack are unclear.
Troop carriers are landing stormtroopers in the middle of the city, where Alliance troops and citizens face them, holding them off for now.
Units of the Alliance Fleet are currently bombing Theed. One Nebulon-B class ship supported by two corvette and a few transports are bombing the city to root out the remaining Imperial troops. So far casualties among military and civilians are unknown.
Meanwhile the Emperor's Retreat has been taken by Alliance troops. The troops are celebrating their victory with fireworks and overflights by Alliance sships.

Today the Alliance to Restore the Republic announced that their armed forces controlled the entire sector, and declared the Republic restored. The announcement came as no surprise to anyone following the Galactic Civial War news in the local sector - the Imperial forces have been retreating on all planetary fronts for months.
The Imperial Sector Fleet might not surrender yet, morale raised due to their victory in the Battle in the Endor System a few days ago, but without planetary bases to receive supplies from their future does not look promising.
In a communique the Galactic Empire announced that plans were in motion to turn the tide of the war, but analysts remain sceptical as to the ability of the remaining Imperial forces to back those claims.
As far as civilians can tell the Galactic Civil War is over but for some mopping op operations against die-hard Imperial holdouts

Last night the three YT-2400 light freighters "Sugar Rush", piloted by Captain Britney', "Rampageous Rochry", piloted by Captain Kavilap Rochry, and Captain See'la Tualin's "Kairn Tol" were sent by the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system with a heavy cargo of ore.
The convoy arrived at the Binayre Razorcat jump point in the Corellia System, where it was attacked by a Scurrg fighter/bomber almost at once. The "Rampageous Rochry" suffered armor damage in the following fight, but no internal damage, until a plasma leak damaged the engine room. The other two freighters protected the struck ships from several waves of pirate fighters while the crew repaired the engines - though during the repairs both Kavilpa Rochry as well as her gunner and engineer Golrin Lightingstar suffered burns from the leaking plasma.
After arriving at the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell the burns were treated in the med center before the crews of all ships celebrated their arival at the local cantina.
IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Last night an intense battle took place in the Endor System. What appeared to be the entire Imperial fleet left in the sector faced a large Alliance force in a fierce struggle for control of the system.
Each side attempted to eliminate the enemy command structure by targeting their flagships. The Imperial Fleet was successful in shooting down three key Alliance craft and numerous other capital ships and fighters without losing one of their own flag ships - though losses among fighters and bombers were substantial.

Two days ago, as announced, Amandiona Masnachwr and Arzesaeth Ernebee were wed on Naboo, in a peaceful and moving ceremony held under the open sky. Kahla Oakeage performed the wedding - a classic exchange of vows. Prior to the event Lord Ernebee had to ask for the approval of the Queen of Naboo, which was granted in an expedient manner.
To the surprise of some of the more violently inclined guests unfamiliar with Galactic society, no ritual combat was performed, though gifts - some of them procured in the very lst second, to the dismay of flower fields close by - were given and a buffet was consumed by the select guests.
To the surprise of everyone who knows here, Lynese Shysa was even wearing a dress - though not for long. Long enough to be recorded though.

Last night The Raving Rodians & Ikoogy Retoodi had a show in the Coronet Theatre. As Ikoogy Retoodi, the manager of the troupe and musician, stated, it was a final gig before their big tour through the Core Worlds started.
The show was received well by the audience, which prompted a brief encore, before the rodians left the stage. Their tour is expected to take them through the various core worlds, and according to people in the know a music video is in the works to help promote their concerts.

Last night the Galactic Empire conducted a military assault on an Alliance base on Lok according to a press release by the sector command:
"Recently, Imperial forces under the command of General Welaspic conducted an aerial strike against a rebel stronghold located on an island in central Lok which was followed up by a ground assault to take control of the site."
So far we haven't received any additional details, though given the general state of the Galactic Civil War, with the imperial troops either retreating or fighting holding actions, such offensives might be more aimed at upholding morale than trying to stem the Alliance tide which is, by all accounts, sweeping the Imperials off all planets in the sector.
Though rumors persist that the remaining imperial ground and especially naval assets are being gathered for a decisive action to turn the tide of the war.

Three days ago the YT-2400 light freighter "Sugar Rush" of Captain Britney' was transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. The freighter and its experienced crew were escorted by three fighters piloted by Kavilap Rochry, Barrenger Fynar and Ausmis Moonstryder.
Despite their numbers the escorts were quickly shot down when the convoy was attacked in the Corellia System by a pirate YT-2400 - "Grumpy Corsair" - and a Scurrg fighter/bomber. The "Sugar Rush" started evasive action, chased by both pirates, and the Scurrg was shot down while getting too close. The following records were recovered from its wreckage:
The "Grumpy Corsair" didn't let up though, and chased the "Sugar Rush" for 10 minutes, often exchanging fire and penetrating the light freighter's armor even, before the "Sugar Rush" managed to jump away. The ore was safely delivered to the Ord Mantell system.

After a while the popularNomad Market did surface again yesterday, this time on Kashyyyk. Situated between the large trees the planet is famous for, numerous tents and stalls had been erected, many of them old favorites.
Thankfully no trandoshan slavers were present, at least not to our knowledge, the open attempt to deal in slaves would have likely provoked a very violent and justified reaction from the wookiees, despite the no-violence rule the market is known for.
Even so the market was not without dangers. A wookiee brewer expressed some disappointment when his life day brew did not cause a twi'lek and a human who tried it to fall unconscious, stating he had hoped for a stronger result. Of course that was said before the twi'lek was observed shouting for help and claiming she was being chased by lifeday trees.
Barrenger Fynar's Salvage Sale - "If you haven't bought it here you must have bought it somewhere else!" - had the chassis of an assassin droid on display, which was said to have caused a visitor to experience a flashback to a violent episode of his life.
There were also rumors of literal head hunting going on during the market, though those have not been able to be confirmed.

Last night the Nova Orion Station waited in vain for the "Bela Vista Express", an AEG-77 "Vigo" class ship which was scheduled for an engine maintenance session. A patrol finally found the wreckage of the ship drifting near the hyperspace jump point it had used to enter the system.
The surviving crew members reported that the ship had been attacked by an unidentified medium freighter, presumably of the same class but more heavily armed, right after entering the system and had been disabled and boarded after a short fight despite resistance from the crew. Kren Scente, a Corellian investor and the ship's owner, was kidnapped by the boarders after the bridge crew was overpowered and the wreck left to drift.
Mister Scente has made a small fortune investing in defense technology firms during the early stages of the Galactic Civil War and according to his last interview by Coronet Business Weekly he was about to reveal a "very promising project" in the near future. His current whereabouts are unknown, no ransom demand has been sent by the kidnappers so far. His family is anxiously awaiting any kind of news.

Despite the Galactic Civil War entering what many expect to be its final phase not everyone is preoccupied with the war and violence. While soldiers fight and die others marry - such as Veritas Aequitas, known as "Shade" to his friends, a rascal who the lovely Genivieve will make an honorable man out of today, or so we hope.
This to the horror of Shade's friend Norge Thenoo, who all but freaked out about Shade marrying. Not even the looming threat of death at the hands of an angry wookiee he kept calling an ewok and an equally angry Corellian gunslinger who felt his wife had been insulted as well by Norge's tirades about the evil of marriages nor two bottles of Nova Orion's worst could make him stop complaining about the loss of his friend, as he saw it. Or the insanity - he was a bit hard to follow, at that point, as onlookers testified.
An union less lamented - or at least so we think - will be formed in three days in New Kestic, Lok, when Future Weapon and Droids Systems CEO Amandiona Masnachwr will be marrying Arzesaeth Ernebee, captain of the "Defiant Glory". Amandiona's first marriage has been dissolved and her former husband, Gwreng Masnachwr, has been declared clinically insane, so she is now free to marry Arzesaeth. We haven't been able to determine if Gwreng was insane when he married Amandiona, or became insane during the marriage, but we wish the happy couple all the best!

Yesterday an intense battle took place in Deep Space. For hours two groups of starfighters from the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire clashed in the center of the sector. While the Imperial forces had a slight advantage for a while they were pushed back eventually by reinforcements on the Alliance side.
According to rumors both sides are massing troops and ships for a large-scale battle which is supposed to take place in the very near future - a battle which will decide the fate of the sector, and may even decide the Galactic Civil War.

Last night a bunker complex dating back to the Clone Wars era was attacked by a small army of what was later identified as droid-supported mecenaries.
The bunker's defenders were reinforced by what looked like an imperial patrol, and managed to drive the attackers off after killing their leader, an apparent combat cyborg, in a pitched fight, though only after the shield generator of the bunker had been critically damaged.
The casualties of the battle were evacuated to the med center in New Kestic, the most serious wounded had to be placed in a bacta tank after receiving surgery.

Last night trappers hunting on the forest moon of Endor reported a Decimator-class patrol boat engaging several Belbullab-22 class fighters in the atmosphere, over the north-eastern hills, shooting down two or three of them before landing.
A later expedition revelaed the remains of a larger ground engagement, with several destroyed shuttles and dozens of dead humanoids and destroyed droids as well as a sizeable number of native sentients and one dead toydarian later identified as Scrimm the Red, wanted for piracy since the Clone Wars era.
The Imperial Sector Fleet HQ in Talus has been cited as not being aware of any anti-piracy action having been ordered or reported by their forces in that area. With the Galactic Civil War seeing rebel victories all over the sector, one wouldn't expect them to have the manpower to spare so analysts consider imperial deserters fighting other pirates as the most likely explanation of this incident.

Four days ago the "Spinning Cloud", veteran Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300 light freighter, again led the cargo convoy of the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. Apart from the "Spinning Cloud" the convoy consisted of Captain Britney's "Sugar Rush" and Captain Kavilap Rochry's "Rampageous Rochry", both YT-2400s.
The three freighters were attacked in the Corellia System at the Bynaire Razorcat hyperspace jump point by a B-Wing and a Scurrg fighter/bomber, but managed to shoot both down without taking significant damage before continuing to the Ord Mantell system.

Last night residents of southern Lok near Bastion were rudely woken during the night by a loud explosion coming from the hills. When a search party reached the area, expecting a crashed starship - farmers had observed a light freighter, probably a red YT-2400, flying at low altitude and unsafe speeds - they discovered the ruins of an underground bunker which had been blown up from inside judging by the pattern the debris had left.
The remains of several armored humanoids and what appeared to have been an air defense turret built into the side of a cliff were also found, as well as traces of blaster and cannon fire, indicating an attack and not an accident had caused the explosion.
According to the search party they found broken and destroyed medical equipment, which points to the structure having been an underground clinic or hospital of sorts, maybe a laboratory, though no further clues regarding the structure's owner or purpose have been found.
The investigation was slowed by several so far unexplained malfunctions of the droids tasked with sifting through the debris. One engineer that was trying to repair the droids developed a sudden, very painful headache and was admitted to the closest med center.

One day ago a mining camp employing slaves in southern Dathomir was attacked by an unidentified YT-2400. According to preliminary reports by an investigation expedition sent after early reports came in the attacker was held at bay for some time by turret fire from a YT-1300 on the ground but eventually managed to destroy the ship and then disembark a ground force that stormed the camp.
From what is known the guards and other staff of the camp were shot and about a dozen wookiee slaves, all in bad health and suffering from radiation sickness, were freed and taken off Dathomir, presumably to get them to a clinic and treat them.
Judging by the corpses found in shallow graves near the strip mine over a hundred wookiees had already been killed in the mine prior to the attack. So far it has not yet been determinded what exactly had been mined there, though traces point to crystalline ore. Likewise it is unknown at this point who had been running the mining operation, though one corpse has been identified as Aplok Siders, a mercenary operating in the Outer Rim.
It is not known if this attack is related to a raid on a Bloodscale slaver camp on Kashyyyk, but the timing is supiciously close to both that raid and may have been a reaction to the razing of a wookiee village earlier this week.

Last week the Neutron Pixies, one of Tatooine's most famous dancing troupes, celebrated their founding 8 years ago with a big party in Jailbirds. All the founding members and many more recent ones were present - De'ce, Coreena, Clarissa, Ramona, Aicha, Tal'shiva, Senyka, Alyia and Zheezah.
The guests were welcomed with free drinks, snacks and the premiere of the latest music video of the Neutron Pixies, "S&M".
Afterwards Fireworks, courtesy of the mayor of the town, Kimisei Bythmi, followed. Mayor Bythmi sadly got a bit singed while launching the fireworks, and checked himself in at the local med center.
Inside Jailbirds a dance show followed - musicians Dee'lin Sarlo and Ikoogy Retoodi played on stage with the Neutron Pixies, until a life day gift bash concluded the planned part of the evening, with dozens of gifts of all types handed out to pixies and guests alike.
Festivities continued informally until late at night.

Last night a wookiee village on Kashyyyk was attacked by what survivors identified as trandoshan slavers of the Bloodscale Clan. As is sadly common with many such raids those who took up arms to defend themselves were killed, the rest captured and taken away by the slavers with the village being razed.

Last night a camp of marauding gungans which had raided farms in central Rori for some time was attacked by a hired force of mercenaries. According to some reports the mercenaries were led by a former RSF operative.
The farmers were forced to resort to hiring mercenaries after RSF had declared that this was out of their jurisdiction and the military forces of both the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic were unavailable, engaged in combat with each other in the Restuss area.
The attack was a success, all raiders were killed and their camp secured though it is rumored there was a case of friendly fire, fortunately not a fatal one, and some looting by the mercenaries. The mercenaries were not available for comments, having left the planet on board of a YT-2400-class light freighter.

With the forces of the Galactic Empire in the local sector under increasing pressure by the advancing soldiers of the Alliance to restore the Republic, and with no reinforcements coming forth, it seems that desperate measures are being taken by local commanders.
According to recent rumors an Imperial unit on Tatoonie has taken to recruiting militia members and civilians with minimal military training and having them put on storm trooper armor with orders to "act the part" in an attempt to bolster their numbers. Others report a shift from conventional to guerilla tactics to deal with being outnumbered by Alliance troops.
So far neither has had much success - while Bestine was ertaken recently by Imperial forces it was not held for long, Alliance troops quickly restored control of the capital of Tatooine. Many Imperials are facing increasing difficulties when trying to travel on several planets in the sector, their movements restricted to a few starports not under Alliance control.

Last night the traffic control of Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, received a distress call of the AEG-77 class medium freighter "Ebony Blade", captained by Barrenger Fynar. The ship had suffered engine and power failure during it's landing approach, after a fire had broken out on board.
A rescue team was formed from local volunteers and headed to the point north of the town where the Ebony Blade was hovering with the help of a Nova Courier piloted by Falcun Nix. Shortly after the team arrived the Ebony Blade's repulsorlifts gave out and it set on the ground, pushing the Nova Courier into the closest dune as well.
The team then boarded the ship and started battling the fire and jury-rigging repairs to save it. After two hours the last of the fires was extinguished and the ship's system had been repaired to the point of it being able to reach Mos Entha, where it will be full repaired in the days to come.
The operation claimed one wounded and a damaged astromech among the rescue team as well as several droids attached to the ship - some of them were apparently used for spare parts for the systems.

Four days ago the Intergalactic Mining Company hired Captain Britney's YT-2400 "Sugar Rush" to transport ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. Contrary to recent convoys this time no escort was hired. Apparently IMC manager Kimisei Bythmi trusted the ships experienced captain and her two gunners to fend off any pirate attack.
The ship reached the Corellia System, where it was attacked by two unidentified fighters, a Vaksai and an X-Wing, shortly after arriving in system. The "Sugar Rush" engaged the fighters and managed to down both of them in a short engagement before continuing towards Ord Mantell. The freightar itself was not damaged during the fight, not even the pink paint was scratched (to the dismay of some other spacers, if one can believe the rumors on the station).

Two days ago a violent confrontation took place in the basement of the cantina in Mos Taike, during which a male wookiee was killed with a bladed weapon in one of the cellar rooms. Eye witnesses reported another wookiee leading a group of armed humanoids inside prior to the killing, looking for a so-called "madclaw", and some reports claim the two male wookiees fought each to the death in a duel, though this seems to be mostly hearsay.
The body of the victim could not be recovered since it was carried out and loaded on a speeder by the suspected assailants, who departed swiftly after one of them had a shootout with members of the local garrison.

Last night Deep Space lit up again with clashes between forces from the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. Even with the Alliance forces advancing on numerous planets and being close to control the entire sector, the Imperial soldiers and pilots have not given up yet. While a successful attack was launched on the still alliance-controlled Bestine, various Imperial pilots engaged the Alliance fighters in Deep Space, achieving space superiority over the system for a limited time.

New Kestic on Lok has suffered a devastating attack by Hutt-sponsored mercenary and droid forces a bit ago, and is now still being rebuilt. The residents however are not letting this keeping them down, and celebrated their city being rebuilt two days ago with a grand party.
Blasters & Sunburns, represented by Dee'lin Sarlo and her bandmate, ladies' man Norge, were providing the entertainment for the guests and residents, heating the local cantina up with classic and new songs such as Eternal Twilight, Booster Blues, Outer Spice, Last Stand and Venom.
Not to be outdone though Lynese, assistant to Mayor and CEO Amandiona Masnachwr, which was attending the party with her boyfriend Arzesaeth', launched a truly impressive fireworks display that left the audience in awe and netted her at least two offers of employment, which she declined though.

After two years the Tusken Trophy Swwop Race was once again held in Farpoint Valley, sponsored by the Intergalactic Mining Company. Two days ago not just a swoop race, but also an open challenge where any non-space worthy vehilce was allowed were held, and numerous racers competed for the 1'000'000 credit prizes in each race.
Barrenger Fynar won the swoop race and 1'000'000 credits, with Batair Highlander and Britney coming in at 2nd and 3rd places, winning 500'000 and 250'000 respectively.
The open challenge however saw local resident Batair Highlander as the winner on his AT-RT vehicle, beating Askisi Criso and Barrenger Fynar, the former driving a restored pod racer, the latter also riding an AT-RT. Again the winner took a 1'000'000 prize home, 2nd place 500'000, 3rd place 250'000.
Contrary to past races no tusken raiders tried to take potshot at the racers this time, nor were any other troubles reported, other than some navigational failures on some vehicles.

This week's convoy transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system was formed by Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300 "Spinning Cloud" and Captain Britney's YT-2400 "Sugar Rush" and escorted by Barrenger Fynar in his Vaksai, "Krayt Dancer".
The convoy took off without trouble, but when Barrenger Fynar hypered into the Corellia system to make sure the hyperspace jump point was clear he was attacked by a pirate Scrugg and ended up disabled. The pirate tried to force the convoy to dump their cargo with the threat of killing the helpless pilot, but the "Sugar Rush" engaged the pirate, first driving him away, then shooting him down and foiling his ploy. After repairing the Vaksai all three ships reached Ord Mantell on schedule.

In the Nova Orion Station's main cantina Captain Coron doused all female crew members of the convoy in beer. Whether this was an attempt to start a wet t-shirt contest or done in celebration or both remains unclear - Captain Coron vacated the cantina right afterwards, followed by Auros Drayen.

Two days ago the Raving Rodians, a trio of rodian dancers, performed in the Lucky Despot, Lady Valarian's casino in Mos Eisley. The three rodians were dancing to the tunes of Ikoogy Retoodi, a rodian businessman who is now acting as their manager as well as musician.
The performance was unmarred by violence - unusual for this place, where members of the MEPD are often shot by passing criminals - but shortly after the gig ended a fight broke out in the alleys surrounding the casino. According to the MEPD even heavy rocket launchers were used, and it was only through luck that the crashed ship the Lucky Despot was built in did not receive a similarly crashed neighbor.

According to unconfirmed reports a fugitive Jedi and General of the Alliance to Restore the Republic has been captured on Coruscant, near or inside the old Jedi Temple. The Imperial Security Bureau apparently received reports from local residents that two suspicious humanoids had entered the condemned building. In response Stormtroopers were dispatched and searched the area. The general and her companion - allegedly a zabrak - were located and captured after a short fight in the Undercity.
Rumors claim they were brought to an undisclosed base off-world, where agents of the the Empire are awaiting word from Imperial Command to proceed further. Neither the general's nor her companion's names nor the reasons for their presence on Coruscant - far behind the frontlines of the Galactic Civil War - have been released to the public so far, but given how Alliance forces are advancing on almost all fronts it is being speculated that this was a covert ops to prepare the eventual assault on Coruscant itself.
Five days after the large-scale attack on New Kestic, Mayor and CEO Amandiona Masnachwr is speaking out. Rumors had been flying about sabotage and the amount of damage done to the city and factory, and she felt the need to clear things up.
She verified that the droid of a high ranking employee was the one who lowered the defenses around the cities' shield generator, allowing for an overhead strike to destroy it - and leaving the town open to the EMP burst. The droid was decommissioned, but the mayor has asked for privacy when it comes to the employee, only stating that the issue has been dealt with fully.
As for damages to the town, the starport took the worst hits and needs vast amounts of work to repair. Half of the city hall was burned to the ground and several smaller structures were leveled. The Future Droids factory sustained heavy damages to its surrounding walls, but the factory itself was unharmed.
Despite losing four of their own and having a dozen injured, the residents and employees have been hard at work rebuilding and it shows. They are planning a celebration and grand-reopening of the town at the end of the week. Amandiona stated that she was very proud of the people of New Kestic and is forever grateful to those who came to defend it.

Almost exactly three years after the last the Ninth Karaoke Night was held in the Grindhouse Bar in Farpoint Valley two days ago. To celebrate the revival, every singer got a surprize prize.
Captain Ryian Coron showed he was not just brave when it comes to space - he has been flying his YT-1300 "Spinning Cloud" despite growing pirate threats - but also on the stage, and started the night with "Jabba he knows me", a classic song. His surprize prize, a greenish egg, hatched during the night, and revealed a weird animal later identified as a Spined Puc. The animal took a liking to the captain, who was last seen running outside and calling for his pet gurreck, "Ruffy". Whether Ruffy ate the puc is not known at this point, neither Ruffy nor Ryian were available to comment.
Professional musician Dee'lin Sorla then took the stage, with the "No Instrument Blues" song.
Undaunted by the performance of Dee'lin, and only mildly encouraged by the rest of the audience as well as only lightly drunk, Barrenger Fynar sang "Danger Zone", an experimental one-liner.
Britney', Captain of the YT-2400 "Sugar Rush" and known for never traveling anywhere without her trusty slitherhorn handy, sang a sing from Parry Gripp, "Space Unicorn". By public acclaim she got two prizes!
Amandiona Masnachwr, mayor of New Kestic, followed, with the "Burn, Spider, Burn" song. She also let slip that sings that song often in her town.
Then Dee'lin got up again, premiering a new song of hers, "Venom", before the host Ramona ended the night with the aptly named "End of the Road".

The twi'lek woman Valiria Shaim, claimed by some to be the infamous criminal Kegana Rimos, was assassinated today in the aftermath of the trial dealing with the events in which two allegedly corrupt RSF officers were slain, and another RSF officer, the twi'lek K'ora Milaro, was framed for a series of violent crimes. The court had found Shaim not guilty and granted her protection since it was concluded that her personal safety might be in danger.
As the transport shuttle was getting ready, several flash-bang grenades detonated in the hangar, and in the confusion an unknown assailant was able to assassinate Shaim and flee the scene before being detected. The RSF high command has so far not commented on speculations about the assassination being an inside job.

As expected last week, this week the Intergalactic Mining Company invested more in escorts for the freighters that transport the company's ore each week from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. This week Captain Britney's "Sugar Rush", a YT-2400 light freighter, was escorted by four fighters - a Scrugg piloted by Golrin Lightinstar, an ETA-2 Actis interceptor piloted by "Rev", as well as Captain Edmuun Darkadder in his TIE Defender with a wingman in a TIE Inteceptor.
The Interceptor hypered into the Corellia System first to scout, and was attacked by three pirate ships - a Scrugg, an X-Wing and a Vaksai. The Interceptor broke off and led the pirates to the waiting remaining escort fighters, who engaged them at once at the Bynaire Razorcat Jump Point. In a short fight all three pirates were shot down without any escort being lost.
IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

New Kestic, the company town of the Future Droids and Weapons corporation, has been regularly attacked by small bands of mercenaries since months. Recently it was discovered that the attackers were paid and supplied by Hutts, and some expected that after the Hutts behind them had been exposed the attacks would cease.
Unfortunately this was not true. Last night the town suddenly was hit with an EMP device and both the shield generators and the droid defenders went offline, leaving the town vulnerable to attackers - which arrived right afterwards with several shuttles.
The security forces of the town as well as visitors willing to help rallied and soon were engaging wave after wave of invaders - mercenaries as well as combat droids of various types, some shuttles even dropped dangerous beasts such as acklays and a rancor.
The defenders' efforts were helped by an Imperial strike force led by Major Edmuun Blackadder, which had been operating against pirates in the area and rushed to the city when news of the attack hit. Sadly some of the troopers were killed by friendly fire in the fog of war.
Finally the main force of the invaders arrived - a small army of Gamorrean mercenaries, attacking from the south-west. The battered defenders made a stand, supported by air attacks and artillery strikes, and managed to cause enough casualties to the attackers to drive them away, leaving the field covered in corpses.
An investigation regarding the cause of the EMP strike and possible sabotage is underway according to CEO Amandiona Masnachwr.

Two days ago Major Meica Coubrian, the replacement for Colonel Mareh Welaspic, was shot and killed in Farpoint Valley, outside Jailbirds. According to the information available she had just finished inspecting the club and was on the way to her office when she was confronted by a fellow imperial officer who was off-duty. In the following dispute the Major was shot with a blaster and died before local medics could reach her.
Captain Edmuun Blackadder arrested the shooter and took him into custody. His identity and current status are unknown though according to unconfirmed rumors he has been released in the meantime. Captain Blackadder as the highest ranking remaining officer in the area was promoted to Major to fill the vacancy left by Major Coubrian's demise.
While the mayor of Farpoint Valley, Kimisei Bythmi, was quoted stating that he was not aware of the incident, having been busy in the IMC office (which is just 80 meters away from the location of the shooting) before, during and after the incident, anonymous sources claim that Major Coubrian had acted very erratically during her inspection, verbally assaulting visitors and trying to usurp the authority of the planetary commander, General Yovel.

Three days ago disturbing news from Dantooine reached the agency. Apparently the town of Stone Valley was destroyed by the Galactic Empire, despite wide-spread protests. According to the information available Mayor Malt Stone was accused of harboring rebels, and in response the city hall was leveled to the ground by TIE Bomber strikes. The city authorities managed to evacuate most civilians in time though a few members of the militia were kileld during the attack.
Given the state of the Galactic Civil War, with the Empire retreating on most fronts or barely holding on to its strongholds and core bases, such a barbaric act can only be deemed a matetr of desperation on the Empire's part.

Two days ago a freighter carrying droids from New Kestic, Lok, to Corellia, came under attack by what looked like pirates in the Corellia System. The pirates were very aggressive though and kept pressing on despite heavy losses, and rumors claim of a few messages of a personal nature being sent to the freighter and/or its escorts, so this may be more than a mere act of piracy.
The attack was ultimately unsuccessful though, the droids - manufactored by the Future Droids and Weapons corporation - were delivered to their destination without loss. The shipping company, Tualin Merchant Fleet, was not willing to comment on the incident yet though.

Six days ago the Intergalactic Mining Company sent two YT-2400 class light freighters, Captain Britney's "Sugar Rush" and the "CORT Everstar" of Captain Golrin Lightingstar with ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. The two freighters lifted off without much trouble - some minor technical difficulties and internal disputes were reported from the crew of the "Everstar".
Upon entering the Corellia System though an unmarked and unidentified YT-1300 attacked both freighters, chasing them and damaging both extensively during a lengthy battle. If not for emergency and jury-rigged repairs both freighters would have been lost. As it is they managed to hyper out under fire and reach he Ord Mantell system battered, but with their cargo intact.
IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news, though several analysts are expecting the company to have to spend more credits on escorts again in the next convoy.

Last week the residents of Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, were treated to an unusual - to say the least - and dangerous sight: A wampa was strolling through the desert town. A few locals and visitors banded together to hunt the menace down before it hurt anyone, and managed to track the Wampa to the nearby Oasis, where it was hunting banthas. The wampa was shot then and there.
Unfortunately the smell of the carcass or sound of the fighting attracted bigger predators - the hunters had to defend themselves against a Krayt Dragon, another unusual sight in the area. They managed to kill the animal without loss of life though.
How an animal native to Hoth ended on Tatooine is not clear, but authorities suspect someone's pet or tropy animal escaped. Any creature handler or beastmaster who might have lost a wampa in the area is hereby asked to report to the mayor of Farpoint Valley to collect what's left of it, and to settle the financial compensation due to the town for any damages caused by it.

Two days ago scouting forces of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic met and engaged in a prolonged battle in Deep Space. While neither side could achieve lasting space superiority both were able to hold the center of the sector for a limited time before enemy reinforcements drove them off.

Three days ago the city of Libria on Corellia, near Doaba Guerfel, came under attack by unidentified forces, which landed troops inside the city with three shuttles under cover from starfighters. Security forces engaged the attackers while civilians were evacuated.
CorSec responses were inexplicably delayed though the crew of the YT-2400 freighter "Sugar Rush" heard the distress call and joined the defenders, first helping to clear the city's airspace, then landing and engaging the attackers under the direction of mayor Falcun Nix.
While a starfighter and a shuttle were destroyed, another shuttle captured and numerous attackers killed one shuttle managed to get away. Casualties among the town's security forces were heavy, some of them even caused by friendly fire, though a suspect claimed "they shot first". No civilians were hurt during the attack however, which is a small consolation.
Town authorities announced an investigation into the reasons for the delayed response by CorSec.

New Kestic, Future Droids and Weapons corporation production facility and company town on Lok, remains a focus point of the local pirate attacks. Four days ago security forces of the company supported by mercenaries attacked a dug-in base that was housing numerous droideka battle droids as well as several pirates.
While all droidekas were destroyed the security forces captured two pirates. It is hoped that their interrogation will shed more light on the forces behind the repeated attacks on the town.

Three days ago Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, was the location of two crash landings within less than one hour. The residents and visitors chilling in the local night club "Jailbirds", watching the recently hired rodian dance troupe "The Raving Rodians" on stage, were shaken by a loud noise coming from the north of the town.
As it turned out the private yacht of the Hutt Zakula had suffered a mechanical malfunction and had been forced to crash land - directly in the oasis north of Farpoint Valley. While his servants worked hard to repair the ship Zakula himself visited the night club, though he was in a visibly sour mood.
Shortly afterwards another crash shook the town - a Belbullab-22 Starfighter had been forced to crash land in the town. It's pilot, Rylar, had been hunting down Womp Rats but had taken one of the carcasses into the ship's engine intake during a particularly close strafing run. Fortunately he was not hurt and his ship could be repaired by a mechanic from FDWS.

The weekly convoys sent by the Intergalactic Mining Company with ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system are favorite targets for various pirates even though they are usually well-protected. Last week the two freighters making the trip, Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300-class "Spinning Cloud" and the YT-1300 light freighter "Hot Tub" piloted by Ramona, turned the table on a pirate though.
When their escort Barrenger Fynar, who had jumped to Corellia ahead of the freighters to secure a jump point, was attacked and his ship disabled by a pirate YT-2400, the two freighters jumped in as well and hurried to the location of the attack, first driving off the pirate, then chasing it down. The pirate was finally shot down after a long running engagement.
Unfortunately the pirate ship was not brought up but destroyed, leaving no survivors to be arrested and interrogted by the local authorities. The two feighters continued to Ord Mantell afterwards.

The Galactic Moon Festival started last week and as every year many revelers attend the festivities in various, sometimes very elaborate costumes. The two cities the festival's main activities are held in, Mos Eisley on Tatooine and Moenia on Naboo, are reporting increasing attacks on visitors and residents alike by what are described as "people crazy with bloodlust".
An investigation is underway but has not resulted in determining the cause of this "bloodlust" so far, though most assume either a new spice or a disease causing the violent tendencies of the attackers - who, sadly, are usually shot on sight by the overworked security forces or concerned civilians.

Deep Space remains a contest zone in the Galactic Civil War, neither the Galactic Empire nor the Alliance to Restore the Republic seem to be able to secure it for long. Last night their forces clashed again when a TIE Agressor encountered an A-Wing and both sides called for reinforcement, escalating the fight into a skirmish that lasted for hours.

Six days ago the Intergalactic Mining Company, facing increasing pressure from pirates and stock holders alike, hired three escort fighters for its weekly convoy transporting ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. Falcun Nix, Ilenia and Barrenger Fynar were escorting Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300-class "Spinning Cloud" and Captain Britney's YT-2400 "Sugar Rush".
As it turned out the escort number was barely adequate. The convoy came under attack by four pirate ships - a Vaksai, a B-Wing and two "Scurrg" class fighter/bombers - in the Corellia system, and all three escorts were shot down or disabled in the fight that ensued before the last pirates weredestroyed by the turret gunners of both freighters. After two of the drifting fighters had been repaired the convoy continued without further trouble to the Ord Mantell system.

One day ago a group of prospectors noticed a burning shuttle in a valley in eastern Lok. Venturing closer they discovered a mine, and the remains of a pitched battle - human and alien corpses were strewn over the landscape, many of them torn apart further by the local wildlife. Pieces of combat droids - identified as old battle droids from the Clone Wars as well as new looking Droidekas - were found at the site.
The mine itself was filled with dead miners and guards as well. From what the prospectors could tell the shuttle had been in the process of loading cargo from teh mine when the workers were attacked by an armed gang. Judging from the brutal fight the remains hint at it's a safe bet to assume the attackers were marauding pirates affiliated to one of the factions on Lok currently struggling for control of the planet.

According to a press release from the Imperial sector command two days ago Imperial forces operating under Lt. Colonel Mareh Welaspic, supported by AT-ATs and AT-STs and TIE bombers, destroyed a rebel base on Tatooine near Bestine.
With Bestine still "heavily contested" according to Imperial authorities - other sources call the situation "under rebel control" - the loss of a base might allow the local imperial troops to recapture the city, though time will tell if they can gather enough forces to achieve that. Given how the Galactic Civil War is increasingly dominated by Alliance Forces other systems closer to the Core might take priority compared to Tatooine. Lt. Colonel Welaspic might find herself assigned to a more important system in short order.

Last night a large explosion was detected in eastern Lok. When scavengers approached the site they discovered the remains of a bunker which had been blown up from the inside, either through planted bombs or a catastropic failure of the reactors used to power the bunker's systems. According to some reports a number of damaged or partially destroyed droids were recovered nearby, and several corpses were found in the vicinity, sporting blaster burns.
A local "salvage consultant" stated he had seen a light freighter, possibly a red YT-2400, lift off nearby shortly before the explosion. It is unclear yet whether and if so how this incident is related to the current struggle between Hutt-based mercenaries and local pirate and mercenary groups on Lok.

Two days ago visitors to Farpoint Valley's southern area saw a large number of imperial troops taking up positions around a local office. The stormtroopers were supported by several walkers - both AT-STs and AT-ATs - and TIE bombers on standby.
The commanding officer, Lt. Colonel Mareh Welaspic, claimed this was just a regular patrol. A number of residents and visitors doubted those claims - though only anonymously - and speculated whether those troops were on their way to Bestine, which is still heavily contested by both Imperial and Alliance forces, with the latter currently having the upper hand.

Last week a hunting party on Yavin IV reported seeing a large and very violent battle in the jungles of the moon, between what was described as "weird cultists" and what appeared to be a very diverse force of civilians, soldiers and mercenaries. Whether or not this "cultists" had any ties to ruins recently discovered on the moon by an archeological team from Corellia is not known.
Yavin IV is known for its many ruins of a lost civilization, including several temples, most of them abandonned and taken over by animals.

Last week saw several reports of Theed being raided. One such raid was a military operation by Imperial stormtroopers, apparently reacting to the massing of rebel troops and their increasing territory gain by switching to hit-and-run tactics and commando style raids.
The others was a local affair - an attack by Gungan terrorists. While this attack was unlikely to be related to the Galactic Civil War the earlier raid by stormtroopers undoubtly helped the later attack by weakening the defenses.
No casualties or damage figures are available so far.

Last week the convoy transporting ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system for the Intergalactic Mining Company was faced with an unusual situation. An imperial patrol boat volunteered to serve as a decoy in order to draw out pirates - and draw them away from the main freighters. The two freighters carrying the cargo - Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300-class "Spinning Cloud" and Captain Britney's "Sugar Rush", a YT-2400 - and their escorts - Barrenger Fynar and Falcun Nix - were happy to accept the offer.
The convoy entered the Corellia system at Talus Secta later, and was attacked by two pirates, one of the flying a TIE Oppressor - likely an imperial deserter. Despite their ambush both raiders were shot down by the freighters and escorts, who then continued to the Nova Orion Station in ord Mantell without further trouble.

According to the latest news from Lok the attacks and skirmishes on and around New Kestic continue. Just a day ago a small patrol was ambushed when investigating reports of an intrusion.
The patrol consisted of Harliebear and Barrenger Fynar, which were expecting the by now familiar mercenaries and pirates that attacked the city before when responding to the reports. Instead of a few mangy mercenaries however they encountered an ambush by a group of droidekas. The two managed to escape but not without suffering light injuries.
According to rumors the droidekas were looking like recently built, not like restored relics from the Clone Wars. The possibility of someone manufactoring new battledroids is a worrying prospect, not just for New Kestic.

Last week an old bunker dating back to the Clone Wars was the scene of a violent firefight between what looks like two gangs of smugglers fighting over a cargo of cutting-edge ship parts. RSF forces arrived to late to either prevent the fight or the survivors from getting away, but managed to secure the location and started on identifying the bodies. Some of the dead found were apparently involved with a Corellian crime gang, or so usually well-informed sources inside the RSF claim, but no details have been released so far by the authorities.

Last week authorities were informed of a shootout taking place in the outskirts of Kor Vella. Upon arriving at the scene the CorSec members discovered a hideout in use by a gang of outlaw techs, dealing with illegally acquired or modified ship parts, which had apparently been raided by a rival gang.
So far neither the identities of the attackers nor those of the backers of the outlaw techs have been discovered yet, though from the data found the gang was selling the latest weapons such as experimental borstel cannons to anyone with credits to spend, which both requires serious financing as well as is bound to provoke violent reactions from various competitors.

Last week the Intergalactic Mining Company sent two light freighters out to ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Ord Mantell's Nova Orion Station. The two freighters - Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300-class "Spinning Cloud" and Captain Britney's "Sugar Rush", a YT-2400, were escorted by Barrenger Fynar and Falcun Nix.
After reaching the Corellia System at the hyperspace jump point "Corellia's Own", two unidentified ships, and ARC-170 and a scrugg, attacked right when the convoy was hypering in. The scrugg chased the "Spinning Cloud" and was shot down by the gunners while the ARC-170 engaged the rest of the convoy, disabling one escort before getting destroyed. Afterwards all ships continued to the Nova Orion Station in ord Mantell without further trouble.
IMC shares rose 1,5 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Dee'lin Sarlo, mayor of Crimson Ridge, had to be rushed to Farpoint Valley's medical center in an emergency a few days ago, after suffering from poison symptoms. Dr. Ichi Senshi was on call and arrived at once to treat the at the time delusional twi'lek.
Mayor Sarlo was released later today, in good health, according to the clinic. The source of the poison was said to be a Lokian animal, though no further details were given. Rumors that Dee'lin Sarlo, who is also an accomplished musician, might have overdosed on spice were denied however.

Three daya ago a member of the New Kestic security forces engaged several masked men in a firefight after they failed to identify themselves and heed his warnings. A day later another skirmish followed, during which one attacker was captured. Data on the cpative led to the location of another mercenary base just south of the Canyon Corsair's territory.
A probe droid revealed that is was not yet completed and CEO Amandiona Masnachwr authorized a pre-emptive strike on the base. A strike team consiting of Iffee, Teneniell, Arzesaeth, HarlieBear and Venderon was sent out and destroyed the base under the supervision of the CEO. More evidence pointing to Hutt involvement was found during this, some of which is still being analyzed.
The residents are becoming increasingly concerned about the invasion into Kestic's region but are being assured that security is tight enough that no one will get through into the town.

This week saw another convoy chartered by the Intergalactic Mining Company attacked by a pirate. Two YT-2400, Captain Britney's "Sugar Rush" and Captain Auros Drayen's "Midnight Runner", were escorted Nevrina and Kentt' in snubfighters, transporting ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Ord Mantell's Nova Orion Station.
The convoy was attacked in teh Corellia System by a single pirate, which was quickly dispatched by the escorts and fire from turrets of the freighter. No further trouble was encountered and the convoy reached the Nova Orion Shipyards on schedule.
IMC shares rose 2,5 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Last night RSF forces were alarmed by reports of blaster fire coming from residents of the region around Lake retreat. A speeder patrol was dispatched to investigate and discovered a cave with several dead nikto and gungans.
Apparently the nikto had been staying in the cave - possibly for religious purposes, though the investigators are not yet sure about the details - and were attacked by a violent group of gungan extremists which killed all nikto present.
The reason for the attack is not known either but an RSF spokesperson announced that religious fanatics often took offense at the slightest provocation. According to the RSF there's no threat to the population at large but they did not go into details about the weapons used in the cave even though rumors circulate that heavy weapons and energy-based melee weapons numbered prominently among those.
