A week ago, another freighter was sent by the Intergalactic Mining Company from Tatooine to Ord Mantell. This time it was the "TTC-Chrome Runner", a YT-2400 chartered from the Tatooine Trading Corporation and protected by an Incom T-60 "X-Wing".
After their arrival in the Naboo System at the hyperspace jump point "Penumbra Omen" the two ships were attacked by an unidentified M-22 "Krayt" gunship. The probable pirate was dispatched in a short exchange of blaster fire by the TTC-Chrome Runner and the freight trip was continued to Ord Mantell.
There however the convoy was beset by numerous pirates, and the escorting X-Wing suffered critical damage, requiring extensive repairs at the station. The freighter managed to dock safely without taking damage.
IMC Stock rose 2% following these events.

The Empire strikes back

A week after their defeat in Deep Space, the Imperial Navy struck back at the Rebel Alliance. To break the rebel hold on Deep Space a task force was gathered under Commander Wezz Jansson, spearheaded by the Onyx Squadron. The ships - according to reports 30 fighters and one Gunboat - took to Deep Space last night, engaging the rebel forces which consisted of about 30 fighters supported by two converted light freighters and five gunboats.
During the next two hours the two fleets clashed in a massive, brutal battle all over the sector, centered around four strategical waypoints. Gradually, the Imperial fleet began to control the battle, despite repeated attacks by rebel forces led by their capital ships in close formation. Losses on both sides were very high, in some cases due to sensors of the ships not being able to keep up with the number of contacts in the area.

At the end, Deep Space had been returned to Imerial control, although for how long remains to be seen. Rumors indicate the focus of the war in the local sector may be shifting to planetary assaults in the near future.

Governor Cas-Ru Roben dies in shuttle accident

Cas-Ru Roben, governor of Talus, was killed four days ago in a shuttle accident in Doaba Guerfel, Corellia. His wife, Lady Ch'sei, which is alos holding the office of minister of Protocol, announced the following:
I am Lady Ch'sei, the Minister of Protocol. Today is a sad day in which I need to inform the citizens of Talus, that our believed Governor has passed away. He died during a tragic shuttle accident in Doaba Guerfel today. He leaves behind a Wife, with child on the way, I, Lady Ch'sei will be taking over, in his place, as Governor. If anyone feels the need to get ahold of me, I will be in New Doros in my office. Again it is a tragedy this happened, and I look forward to serving you, the citizens of Talus, as your Governor. Further more, I will make sure the rebels holding Nashal will be dealt with in short time,we do not take kindly to criminals, and law and order will be brought back to the renegade city.
Investigations of the accident and its causes are still going on. With the recent attack on Old Doros and the rumors of an underground war being fought on Talus, as well as the recent rebel activities in Nashal, any violent death is suspect, and assassinations have been covered up by shuttle accidents in the past already.
The words of Lady Ch'sei also caused concern that renewed fighting may take place on Talus, and even escalate to all-out war on the planet's soil. An anonymous citizen was quoted as stating "no one wishes another Restuss".

Imperial Navy defeated in Deep Space

Two days ago, a massive battle took place in the Deep Space sector between Rebel Alliance forces and Imperial ships. The imperial force was at once on the defensive, faced with multiple attack waves of the numerically superiour rebels who were striking at the Imperial Star Destroyer "ISS Valorous" and the "Onyx Mauler", the mobile task forces flagship.
Over the next two hours the outnumbered imperials fought back as much as they were able to, trying to decapitate the rebel fleet with an attack on their flagship, but for a long time their scouts were unable to find the rebel flagship, and when they finally spotted it the rebel escorts fought off any attacking bombers.
Meanwhile, both the "ISS Valorous" as well as the "Onyx Mauler" were under heavy attack and taking severe damage. In the final phase of the battle the imperial fleet managed successful attacks on the rebel flagship, but at that time the Imperial task force already was crippled due to sustained damage to their own capital ships, and had to retire from the sector, leaving the rebels in control of Deep Space.
Independent strategy experts speculated that the rebel forces in the sector had received substantial reinforcements from other sectors, tipping the balance of power.

After the success of the "Good Ship Ike", pirate attacks were on the decline again - or so it seemed. A week ago, the "Bellerophon", a YT-2400 flown by Captain Fallthon, found out differently. The "Bellerophon" was escorted by the Decimator "ISS Grey Shadow" under captain Colvin' Harbid, and was jumped by a pirate ship at the Naboo Royal Way Hyperpoint.
The convoy sped to the Naboo Station, pursued by the pirate, and a lengthy battle took place around the station itself, during which both ships took severe damage. Fortunately, the crews managed emergency repairs, and succeeded in destroying the pirate craft. the following recordings were recovered from the wreckage:
Despite the damage taken, the "Bellerophon" reached Ord Mantell, although with reduced speed due to a damaged engine.
IMC stock rose 5% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following those events.

Good Ship Ike gets through on IMC Convoy

One week ago, IMC sent another convoy from Tatooine to Ord Mantell. Despite the recent setbacks, the company was not giving up. Surprisingly, the convoy consisted of a single freighter - but a massive one, a Y-8 class ship, the "Good ship Ike", commanded by Captain Starley. In response to multiple pirate attacks in the past, Captain Daradyn flew escort in his ARC-170, together with an X-Wing patrol ship.
While the Y-8 has a reputation as being very hard to fly in combat - many pilots call it a flying coffin - the "Good ship Ike" survived, in no small parts thanks to it escort, three different pirate attacks in the Naboo system before managing to safely land on the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.
IMC stock rose 5% at the Coronet Stock Exchange in response to this news.

IMC Convoy held up in the Naboo system

One week ago, IMC sent another IMC convoy out. After the troubles of the last convoys, this week's freighter, the YT-1300 "Whirling Dervish" of captain Daradyn, was escorted by a starfighter.
In the Naboo system, 2 TIE Bombers and a Khiraxz jumped the convoy while it was docked to the Naboo orbital station. The "Whirling Dervish" managed to escape at first while the escorting scyk was disabled, but the pirates gave chase, and stopped it soon afterwards. The escorting fighter managed to get emergency repairs, and rejoin the fight, taking out two pirates, but was shot down by the third.
The "Whirling Dervish" was boarded, and left, and managed to continue the trip, after jettisoning some cargo and getting repairs. What exactly happened on the freighter has not been detailed so far, but rumors claim it involved kowakian monkey lizards.
IMC management did not comment on the case, just stated that all contractual obligations towards their trading partners were fullfilled. IMC stock remained volatile.
