Yesterday, just one day after a successful operation by the Imperial Navy to protect miners in Deep Space, the Rebel Allaince struck back. Starfighters and bombers as well as capital ships of various types but all almost fanatical in their goal attacked the imperial forces in Deep Space, focusing their attacks on crucial command ships and squadron leaders.
Despite brave and skilled efforts by the Onyx Squadron and their flagship "Onyx Mauler" and several other imperial units the rebels, who were using hit and run tactics, were ultimately successful in their goal, greatly hurting imperial communication and command structure, although they also took heavy losses to achieve it.

Obsidian Dagger Squadron protects miners

Two days ago the Imperial Navy was called in to protect ore mining operations in Deep Space which had come under attack by rebel forces. The ore mining, crucial for the war effort, had been severaly hampered depsite early efforts by imperial patrols, and serious losses were inflicted by the rebels upon both miners and imperial ships alike.
In an intense fight that went on for over an hour the rebels were finally pushed back by a composite force led by the famous Obsidian Dagger Squadron and the mining operations were secured.
The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters in Tergill, Naboo, and is dated from the early efforts to protect the miners:

House blown up in explosion

Six days ago a house near the Cantina in Mos Eisley suddenly blew up in the middle of the day. The reason for the explosion remains a mystery so far. An investigation by the MEPD came to no conclusion. An anonymous officer had this statement:
"As expected by a "watering hole" for criminals of all sorts no one saw anything and the eye witnesses of the few spiceheads actually talking to us were garbled garbage. I think it was a fight between two gangs, but there's no evidence left to even guess who might have been involved. It didn't help that most of us were busy investigating the pirate attack on the outskirts of the town."

Raid on IMC Office in Farpoint Valley

As unfortunate as it is the Intergalactic Mining Company is used to pirate attacks - on their cargo ships. Such attacks are a common occurence, and so the appropriate counter measures are taken. However six days ago the pirate threat took on a new form.
When the hired crew of the chartered freighter was being briefed by the local manager Kimisei Bythmi in the IMC Office in Farpoint Valley they were suddenly interrupted when a YT-1300 and a Lambda Shuttle landed right next to the building in a flagrant violation of traffic regulations. When Mister Bythmi confronted the ship's crew he discovered that they were pirates - the Shadow Nexus Pirates to be exact - when they struck him unconscious. The following pictures were taken by an automated Surveillance camera:
Fortunately several experienced mercenaries and spacers were present, and engaged the pirates. Thanks to the efforts of Kal and Kealahou the pirates were not just beaten off, but actually captured.
The seriously wounded Kimisei Bythmi needed immediate medical attention and so he and the captured and equally wounded pirates were loaded on a desert skiff and transported to Mos Eisley.
At the outskirts of the town the skiff was suddenly hit by an Ion blast and crashed into the sand, throwing the people on the speeder off. When the dazed passengers came to they found themsevels under attack by accomplices of the pirates, who managed to subdue the conscious defenders and free the prisoners. Kimisei Bythmi was wounded further through the impact with the ground and had to be moved to the emergency ward of the Mos Eisley Medical Center. He is expected to return to work with a week.
The Lambda Shuttle was later discovered to be stolen when Imperial officer Commander Sanddune arrived to impound both the shuttle and the YT-1300. IMC decided to postpone the next cargo transport by a week in order to reassess the needed security measures.

Deathwatch ship crashed near Farpoint Valley

One week ago an unidentified transport crashlanded near Farpoint Valley, Tatooine. When a visiting bounty hunter named Sagardon-fel'arrived on the scene he was attacked by Droideka combat droids and armored raiders. Reinforced by residents of the town and visitors from Talus led by Cas-Ru Roden, the raiders were engaged and stopped.
The raiders fought viciously and with a disregard for their own lives, and the defenders of the town required further reinforcements until the last of the attackers was killed west of the city.
So far it is not known if the raiders planned to attack the city from the start, or simply crashed there on the way to another objective. RSF are said to look into the incident, to investigate possible ties to an attack on a disabled freighter in the Naboo system earlier the same day.

One week ago the YT-2400 class light freighter "TTC-Running Silent", escorted by pilot Liliah in an Incom X-Wing fighter, was underway in the Naboo system with a cargo of ore for the IMC. Near the Naboo Station it was attacked by two pirates, a Vaksai heavy fighter and a Rhikxyrk heavy fighter.
In the following fight the escort was shot down though its pilot could be recovered by the freighter before the freighter itself was shot and disabled by the pirates, and soon boarded.
While the pirates were plundering the freighter a group of unidentified ships approached. The pirates, claiming it was a "Deathwatch" flight bent on destroying all in their path, fled while the crrew of the freighter used the escape pods before the ship was destroyed. RSF is still investigating the incident.

Thunder Pirates lose a YT-1300

One week ago the infamous Thunder Pirates attacked the IMC convoy again while it travelled through the Naboo system. Unfortunately for the pirtates, which were attacking with a converted YT-1300 freighter, the freighter carrying the ore for IMC, the YT-2400 class "TTC-Running Silent", was escorted by pilot Coolo in a Vaksai heavy fighter and pilot Sarnor in an Etas Actis Interceptor, as well as a TIE Fighter.
In a fight near the hyperspace point Sea of Veruna the pirates were shot down though at the cost of Coolo's fighter, which was disabled and shot up while he managed to eject. For that reason the convoy took a detour to Theed Starport, where Coolo was checked in the local med center by the medic on duty, Icyja, before continuing the trip on board the TTC-Running Silent.
IMC shares rose 2 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news, TTC shares 0,5 %.
