The raiders are said to have been led or hired by a man calling himself the "Ge'tal Verd", and indicating the attack was a retaliation strike for the Empire's pacification operarion on Mandalore. IMC Convoy attacked, cargo partially lost

Date: 170508
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The heavy attacks in the Naboo system on last week's IMC Convoy were just the beginning, as was seen four days ago, when the convoy, again transporting ship-grade aluminium from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Ord Mantell, was once again ambushed by raiders.

One escorting starfighter was lost upon launching from Tatooine, and the other, a Vaksai heavy fighter piloted by Traynu, was attacked shortly after reaching Naboo and disabled quickly, leaving the two freighters without escorts.

While captain Ryian Coron in his YT-1300 "Spinning Cloud", who led the convoy, managed to escape and deliver his cargo, the other ships taking part were not as fortunate. Captain Auros Drayen's "It's Irrelevant", a YT-2400 class ship, was disabled in the Naboo system shortly after hypering in, and the cargo was stolen. The crew was not harmed, however, and the ship reapired at Naboo station after the attack.

Accoridng to the RSF, two pirates were taken out in the battle, but the survivors managed to get away with the cargo despite taking damage. IMC released a statement that they are planning to hire more escorts for the next convoy.

Continuing their "light foot print style" operation to clear out rebel forces, the Imperial Navy swept through the Yavin system last night.

This clip shows the flagship of the Task Force and its escorts moving to engage rebel fleet units in the Yavin System:

The rebel units stationed there gave battle, but were defeated near Smuggler's Run, and started to retreat into Deep Space. The Yavin Task Force pursued them, cutting off their escape routes in Deep Space.

And here's footage of a TIE Oppressor's gun cameras during the following battle:

After two hours of fighting, the Imperial Task Force secured the system, destroying or driving out the last rebel units. So far, this operation has shown impressive results, and it is expected to be continued in other systems.

Fourth Karaoke Night won by Shakir

Date: 100508
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After a lengthy hiatus, Farpoint Valley's Karaoke Nights are back! The fourth of those events in Farpoint Valley’s Grindhouse Bar drew a large crowd, and saw many talented singers take the stage for a chance at the surprise prize.

After an opening song by Ramona, "I am in love with my ship", which was not part of the contest, Auros Drayen started the contest with "soldier boy", causing some specualtion about his private life. The wookiee Sharen'ta was next, with his short but original "Lekku Overture". Neutron Pixie Syrehna, last night's winner, sang "Millionaire Waltz", followed by Atheu with a song about a cowboy on a steel horse, wanted, dead or alive. Metuki was next with a ballad about a corellian martyr, then Shakir, former lead musician of the Vixens, sang "Walkers in a winter wonderland". Hannah, who claims she only sings when drunk, apparently was drunk, and gave a heartfelt version of "I am going slightly drunk". Neutron Pixie Kayet followed up with "Hit me with your best shot". Poe'kunal, stating that unlike last time he was drunk enough to sing since he prepared in advance and came already drunk, sang "Seven deadly Sins", a pirate drinking song. Jeric Varrit remained true to his karaoke reputation and improvised another strange love song. Clarissa Goldear, mayor of the town and manager of the Neutron Pixies, demonstrated her talent with "Love me, don't treat me like a fool". A newcomer named Bize had to struggle with some technical difficulties, but then sang "Living on a prayer". Ryian Coron, known more for his piloting than singing skills, sang a surprising "I am a sith (of power and taste)" that impressed evne his own crew who must have heard him sing before. Kouya was next with "Fight the good fight", before Z'ara finished the contest with "Bleeding Love".

When the votes were tallied up, Shakir had won the night's surprise prize - a green egg of some creature. The musician, who played a number of songs after the contest together with Celox Scorpio, rejected proposals to scramble the egg, or - as it turned out to be hatching - roast the animal, and was, according to last news, happy about her new pet.

Celox himself reportedly narrowly esaped bodily harm in his pursuit of the lovely A'Keti, a female rodian of rare beauty, which had a doshan bodyguard that kept both Celox and his rival Ikoogy Retoodi at bay with dire threats.

New Krayt sighting - on Yavin IV?

Date: 100508
Planet: Yavin IV
Region: Mining Outpost

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Our readers, especially those residing in Mos Eisley, may recall the last report about a krayt sighting near that town. While this was unheard of, it was not impossible.

The most recent kray sighting report, however, seems almost impossible to believe: Two days ago, on a beach on Yavin IV, near the mining outpost of that planet. We'd dismiss this as some hallucination of the guests of the beach party where the krayt was sighted, if not for this picture:

While the picture is slightly blurry, the Krayt Dragon can be seen clearly, which lends crecedence to the story. Who would want to smuggle a Krayt off Tatooine, and for what purposes remains a mystery, but there have been Kimogilas seen outside Lok, so it is not completely impossible to imagine.

As far as is known, no guest at the beach party was hurt by the beast, so speculation about it having been tamed started up. A tame Krayt Dragon would be a remarkable feat indeed.

IMC convoy under heavy attack

Date: 070508
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After a number of trips without incidents, the latest IMC Convoy, transporting ship-grade aluminium from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Ord Mantell, came under attack by numerous raiders in the Naboo system last night.

Composed of veteran captain Ryian Coron in his YT-1300 "Spinning Cloud", who led the convoy, and Captain Rah in his decommissioned VT-49, which also carried an imperial inspector, the convoy was escorted by three ships. Upon entering the Naboo system, the convoy was getting shadowed by an unidentified small fighter, and soon afterwards numerous raiders attacked.

In the following battle, the VT-49 and one escort were disabled while five raiders, among them two ARC-170, a Vaksai and a Firespray, were destroyed in turn, allowing the disabled ships to be towed to Naboo Station, where they received repairs.

Imperial Navy clears Dantooine system

Date: 040508
Planet: Dantooine System/Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

In a "light foot print style" operation to clear out rebel forces, the Imperial Navy started a sweep of the sector's main systems today. Dantooine was the first system to be hit by the newly gathered task force led by Commander Wezz Jansson.

After scouting elements entered at Govera hyperpoint, the mass of the fleet followed, engaging rebel ships soon afterwards around Asair's Ribbon and Isryn's Veil. On both locations, rebel fleet units were defeated quickly, and the system was deemed secure.

Following reports of renewed rebel activity in Deep Space, the Dantooine Task Force headed there and engaged numerous rebel ships in a running battle that lasted for close to two hours, holding the system during the entire battle.

Jazmine shot by bounty hunter!

Date: 040508
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Black Sands

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Jazmine, fiancée of Ikus Agapor, was shot last night in Black Sands by a bounty hunter supposedly named Krik'k. The bounty hunter, according to some reports a "Gand", an insectoid species, was then taken down by the people present, among them Ikus himself.

The extent of Jazmine's wounds is not known so far, but she had to be taken to a med center - a second, actually, the first being inaccessible due to a gas leak.

The reason for the shooting is not yet known, so far there has not been a confirmed bounty on Jazmine. But it confirms our recent report - guests of Jazmine's and Ikus' wedding should be ready for some hostilities, apparently even bfore the wedding.

Krayt sighted near Mos Eisley!

Date: 020508
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

According to eyewitnesses' reports there were a Krayt Dragon, possibly a female, with a young sighted near Mos Eisley yesterday. Even though the reports are so far unconfirmed, there is great concern about this among the population. Krayts are usually not seen in this area of Tatooine, and the possibility of such ferociuos beasts migrating there is a worrying thought indeed.

Usually, "Krayt Country", as some call the area where Krayts are most often observed, lies further to the north, and contrary to towns such as Mos Carova, Mos Eisley seems unprepared to deal with Krayts.

Speculation about possible reasons for a Krayt to wander so far south is rampant, and some blame the tuskens that earlier set up a camps in the area. The mayor of Mos Eisley has declined to comment further than "so far there hasn't been a confirmed sighting, and if there is we have the situation well in hand".

Since this is the authorities' usual answer when the local crime rate is mentioned, it's not very reassuring according to residents we asked for their opinion.
