Athmis Thewix shot to death

Date: 280210
Planet: Lok
Region: Aventine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Athmis Thewix, captain of the Nova Courier "Fleet of Foot", which had already barely escaped a kidnapping attempt earlier this week in the Ord Mantell, was killed in the spaceport of Aventine on Lok a few days afterwards.

While the details of his demise are not known reports agree he was shot to death by Imperial stormtroopers. The reasons for this are unknown, speculations center around possible smuggling charges, or even involvement with the Alliance to restore the Republic. An anonymous source said he'll be remembered an officer and a gentleman.

Rebels suffer defeat in Deep Space

Date: 280210
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday Deep Space saw more fighting when the Imperial Navy sent a task force to stop the Rebel Alliance from reaching asteroids where rich ore veins were recently discovered. Elements from the 42nd Fighter Wing as well as AI, DFA and other units took up strategic positions in Deep Space and started to patrol the asteroids.

Rebel units employed various tactics to reach their objective, from frontal assaults to flanking attacks and faked retreats to split the imperial forces up in order to defeat them piecemeal, but the Imperial Navy prevailed, denying the rebels access to the ore and inflicting serious casualties on the rebel forces.

The following footage from the fighting was released by the Imperial Sector Fleet HQ in New Doros, Talus:

Imperial officer missing after dispute about bar tab

Date: 250210
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

A bartender was arrested in Theed last night for throwing a beer bottle at an Imperial officer. Form what is known there was an argument leading up to it about the bartender not being paid for a long-running tab. The owner of the tab has been declared missing, and is a well-known Imperial on Naboo. Names have been withheld from the press until an investigation is completed, but a crime cannot be ruled out.

Compound blows up in Theed!

Date: 250210
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

A large explosion rocked Theed earlier, as a compound outside of city limits literally blew up. It had housed ammunition for the Imperial forces on the planet, along with weapons and barracks for training. It also housed an RSF outpost, according to reports. The weapons and ammunition in the complex have been declared destroyed, and the entire complex has been declared a total loss as a result of the massive fireball. It is not known how many have died or been injured. A bodycount has not been conducted due to the size of the explosion until after another investigation is completed.

Authorities have withheld major details and have no suspects at this time, as all surveillance gear that was watching the area was wrecked by the fireball and its shockwave. It's unclear how the loss of those supplies will affect the ongoing battle for Keren, where rebel troops keep holding out.

Athmis Thewix almost kidnapped

Date: 230210
Planet: Ord Mantell
Region: Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Shortly after arriving in the Nova Orion Station last night Athmis Thewix, captain of the Nova Courier "Fleet of Foot", was accosted by two individuals, a trandoshan and a human or near-human male while in the station's med center.

The two sentients apparently claimed to have been paid to bring the pilot back to his family, no matter his personal wishes. Fellow spacers who had just finished the IMC Convoy together with Captain Thewix, among them his gunner Falcun Nix, arrived in time though to foil what can only be called a kidnapping attempt.

The exact details of the confrontation are not known but while several weapons were drawn and aimed - including a heavy weapon according to one witness - there was no fighting reported. All people involved were said to have left the station quickly afterwards.

Pirates shot down over Naboo

Date: 230210
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After last week's pirate attack, which was foiled in extremis, this week the Intergalactic Mining Corporation once again hired fighter escorts for their transports. The ore this week was transported by Captain Sive'a in her YT-1300-class light freighter "Light Ray", captain Athmis Thewix in his Nova Courier "Fleet of Foot", and Tav'la in his unnamed YT-2400. Pilots Racacowlur and Tomeateeje Sunb served as escorts.

Briefing in the IMC Office

The convoy made the jump from Deep Sea in the Tatooine system to Royal Way in the naboo system, where it started to fly through the old Trade Federation route to Sea of Veruna. On the way it was attacked by a Nova Courier and a TIE Fighter.

The Nova Courier was shot down quickly by the escorts, but the TIE Fighter - likely modified with other parts - damaged both the "Light Ray" as well as Tav'la's YT-2400 and their escorts before getting shot down.

After repairs the three freighters and the two escorts reached the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell without further delays though some pirates took potshots at the freighters as they landed.

Imperial Navy defends outposts in Deep Space

Date: 210210
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday the Imperial Navy was called upon defending crucial listening posts in Deep Space to stop a rebel offensive aimed at taking out an Imperial Stardestroyer. Elements from the 42nd Fighter Wing as well as AI and other units were sent to intercept the rebel attackers and restore the listening posts on two asteroids that formed the core of the Imperial sensor grid.

Over the course of 90 minutes of heavy fighting several rebel attacks were repulsed, with the attackers suffering serious losses and the Imperial Stardestroyer only taking light damage throughout the fighting. Key to the defense were the freighters and Decimator-Class patrol ships that kept supplying and repairing the listening posts, and the starfighters defending them during this.

The following footage from the fighting was released by the Imperial Sector Fleet HQ in New Doros, Talus:

New Rebellion?

Date: 200210
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Galactic Empire has been battling the Alliance to restore the Republic, also known as the Rebel Alliance, for years by now, in a bloody cili war that doesn't look like it'll end soon. Throughout the fighting numerous imperial officers and troops have defected to the rebels, sometimes entire ship crews and units. Now there have been rumors of another defection, though this time the rebelling troops did not join the Alliance, but announced to fight them. The following communique was released to the public by their General of Defense Ajarsi Koun.:

“The Imperial Rebellion is an inner rebellion within the Empire, it in no way is related or collaborating with the Rebel Alliance. Our views compared to the Empire are virtually the same, our rebellion focuses on the way the Empire has executed the destruction of the Rebel Alliance and the fact that they have lost major key points in the struggle for Galactic Security.”

In accordance with this creed this new rebel group has also crowned an Emperor - in this case an Empress, Empress Nobous. To quote her:

“Hello glorious citizens of the galaxy. Today we have made history by standing up against the Emperor on his views of galactic security. He has used the resources we have giving him to control and mold the galaxy to what he thinks is the right way it should be. The Imperial Rebellion, IR, and I believe in galactic stability and security for all citizens on all planets.

Ever citizen of this galaxy has to stand together and stand up with IR to rid the galaxy of the Rebel Alliance. Together we can achieve victory and rid the galaxy of our corrupt leader, Emperor Palpatine.

I am honored to be your new strong leader. I will not allow our cause to be thrown around and argued in the Senate. We will destroy these rebels that threaten our galactic security and we will finally be at peace.”

In a first statement a spokesman of the Galactic Empire called the new rebllion "no more than an attempt to gain attention and weaken our public moral to allow the Alliance to attack and control key cities across the galaxy.”

There has been no statement from the Alliance to this "competition" so far, but a schism within the Empire's ranks can only benefit the Rebel Alliance, as far as military experts can conclude.

Civil War spreads on Tatooine

Date: 190210
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Anchorhead/Bestine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Galactic Civil War doesn't let up on Tatooine. Bestine remains under siege for all practical purposes, with regular attacks launched against the city by rebel troops. Two days ago a surprise raid by Imperial Stormtroopers on Anchorhead, a known hotbed of rebel sympathizers and famous rebel base during the early years of the civil war, was launche,d likely in an attempt to divert some of the rebel forces surrounding the planetary capital. The mission failed though when the soldiers sent on this mission were slaughtered by several lightsaber-using fighters.

A day after that a massive collumn of rebel troops spearheaded by attack walkers smashed their way into the heart of Bestine and was only stopped at the last moment by desperate trench fighting at the very heart of the city's defense command post, which was all but destroyed during the fighting. Imperial reinforcements did not manage to secure the city until after the rebel forces had withdrawn in good order.

Lycanus brothers arrested

Date: 170210
Planet: Tatooine/Talus
Region: Mos Eisley/Fort Keen

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Ty'ran and Madriin Lycanus, brothers of the infamous slaver Opal' and the late Zevorick Lycanus, were spotted two days ago in Chalmun's as they beat a helpless human male close to death with glasses and other blunt objects. As was to be expected in that hive of scum and villainy patrons chose not to help the man, instead most ignored the fight or even edged the attackers on. The victim hardly had a chance to defend himself and at the end was left for dead while the two brothers left the building.

The two brothers were spotted the next day when they were arrested in Fort Keen by two stormtroopers and an officer. Accoridng to reports they attempted to resist the troopers as they were about to be stuncuffed but eventually were arrested despite their resistance and taken to the detention center - three hours later they were released though. Neither the cause for their arrest nor the reason for their release is known at this point.

Deserter attacks freighter convoy

Date: 160210
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Even after last week's brush with disaster the Intergalactic Mining Corporation did not hesitate to send out another cargo of ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Nova Orion Station, Ord Mantell. Despite the frequent pirate attacks the two freighters transporting the ore - Captain Zakor's YT-1300 class "Aluminum Falcon", piloted by Oblin, and Captain Tav'la's YT-2400 - had no fighter escorts, trusting their own weapons to deal with pirates.

The convoy hypered out of the Tatooine system without encountering trouble, and the first half of their stay in the Naboo system, cooling down their hyperdrives, passed without incident as well. Then though, while the convoy was on its way to the hyperspace jump point "Kylantha's Whim", the two freighters were attacked by a TIE Fighter - later identified as a deserter - and a the turret gunners had their work cut out for them when the nimble ship started its attack runs.

In the fight that followed both freighters took damage several times, and only emergency reapirs kept them flying and in a condition to finally shoot down the also damaged TIE. Afterwards the two ships continued the trip to Ord mantell and arrived safely at the Nova Orion Station, where they underwent repairs.

According to unconfirmed reports the trip had been quite stressful - to the point that Captain Tav'la and a member of his crew came to blows shortly after reaching the Nova Orion Station, and death threats were exchanged.

Mysterious murders on Yavin IV

Date: 140210
Planet: Yavin IV
Region: Northern Shore

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Two days ago the Imperial Base on Yavin IV reported the loss of several patrols on the northern shore. Scout troopers found the missing troopers dead, killed by what looked like claws, though in some cases bladed weapons were used. While the wildlife of Yavin IV was dangerous, the claw marks did not match any of the native predators, and the blade wounds indicated sentient involvement, with the claws belonging to a trained beast.

West of the last patrol's location scouts found more dead sentients, tentatively identfied by their attire and their proximity to the ruins of an open-sky temple as cultists. Most were killed by claws and blades as well, but one corpse was found in a dessicated condition which was eerily similar to those of the victims of a string of murders that took place two months ago on Tatooine and Lok.

So far it's not sure whether or not those two incidents are related, and how the reported presence of rebel forces ties into this affair.

Imperial Navy maintains blockade

Date: 140210
Planet: Naboo System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday the Imperial Navy blockaded the Naboo System to stop rebel supply transports from reching their base on Rori as well as to gain space superiority in support for operations on the ground. Two squadrons from the 42nd Fighter Wing and DFA, supported by a Decimator-class patrol ship undertook this mission, patrolling between the primary hyperspace jump points in the system.

Several times the squadrons encountered various rebel groups trying to break through or even eliminate the blockade, but in at times very savage fighting all rebel ships were destroyed. The Sector Fleet Headquarters stated that Imperial losses throughout the operation were relatively light considering the number of battles fought. At the end of the operation the system was firmly in the hands of the Imperial Navy.

The following footage was released by the Navy headquarters in Kadara, Naboo:

House burned down near Bela Vista

Date: 130210
Planet: Corellia
Region: Bela Vista

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night a lone house located in the mountains north of Bela Vista was found burned down. CorSec investigators who were called to the scene found signs of heavy weapon use as well the remains of a speeder in the vicinity, and tell-tale signs of arson, but no corpses or other clues to the identity of the inhabitants or perpetrators of the deed.

A resident of the area reported that around the time the building must have started to burn a young woman wearing only a slip had shown up at his house, asking for a comm to make a call and stating her speeder had broken down nearby. The unidentified woman apparently was picked up by a twi'lek male soon afterwards and disappeared. In addition to that several armed and armored sentients were spotted at the same time, apparently searching the area. What or who they were searching is not known.

CorSec is asking anyone who might have seen something concerning this affair to contact the Bela Vista HQ.

Spacer shot in Coronet Starport

Date: 130210
Planet: Corellia
Region: Coronet

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night a verbal dispute in the lounge of the Coronet Starport on Corellia escalated and ended in the shooting of a spacer, later identified as Falcun Nix, a native Corellian. Captain Nix was brought to the Coronet Medical Center and is still in critical condition according to the latest news.

Key details of the shooting as well as the identity of the shooter are not clear yet, CorSec is looking for eye witnesses of the incident. According to existing reports the shooter and the victim had been waiting in the lounge for several hours before the shooting and tempers had been rising for reasons unknown so far. Jeric Varrit, who had been rpesent as well, had apparently been trying to diffuse the situation, without success.

Wookiee villages massacred

Date: 120210
Planet: Kashyyyk
Region: Kachirho

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Kashyyyk's population has fallen on hard times in recent years, with both the ravages of the Galactic Civil War and the slaving trandoshans threatening the wookiees. Add in a wildlife that's among the most dangerous of the Galaxy, and it's only due to their famous toughness and stubborn tenacity that wookiees still prosper.

With violence so common it takes a lot for any event to stand out, but the recent reports from the area the famous Ryatt Trail manage that. According to the accounts of travellers and hunters several wookiee villages were attacked and all villagers massacred, some were even found skinned. Even worse - those massacres were just part of a trail of bloody violence which claimed the lives of dozens of travellers, hunters and uncounted animals before disappearing in the Shadowed Lands.

The identity of the perpetrators of those abhoirrent deeds has not yet been discovered, but the claw marks found on the corpses, the almost exclusive use of melee weapons and the undiscerning choice of victims in addition to the skinnings have led most natives to blame the trandoshans, already hated for their slaving raids, for the atrocities.

Rebel Special Forces lay siege to Bestine

Date: 100210
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Bestine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night Special Forces of the Rebel Alliance attacked Bestine. Landing at the Starport in a surprise move - possibly using a civilian transport to sneak in - they quickly moved into the city, killing several defense contractors working on barricades before fading away when imperial forces rallied. Though their true objective seemed to have been the general in charge of the defense of Bestine, for as soon as he was sighted they renewed their attack, assaulting the defenses near the Starport.

Imperial Special Forces were called in and drove the attackers off, but took heavy losses in the process while contractors did their best to repair the damaged barricades and turrets and more troops were rallied to make up the losses. The rebel commandos then went around the city, attacking through the shuttleport and capitol building area, pressing forward to the Bestine Hotel.

A first line of defense in front of the Bestine Hotel fell quickly, then a second, barricades and turrets crumbling under the firepower of the attackers, and then the Imperial general in charge of defense himself came under fire as his command post became the frontline.

For a while the battle raged back and forth, with rebel soldiers relentlessly attacking until slowly the Imperial defenders gained the upper hand, driving the spent rebels back past the Hotel.

Most of the attackers didn't retreat even at that point though, instead they barricaded themselves in the Bestine Capitol and its surrounding buildings, and the battle turned into bloody close-quarters house-to-house fighting until the last of the rebel commandos were hunted down and killed and the city secured.

Krayt invasion in Mos Carova!

Date: 090210
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Carova

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Carova's citizen had a very eventful weekend, many waking up to see a sight that has not been seen since years: Dozens of krayt dragons roaming within the city boundaries, threatening residents and visitors alike!

When Mos Carova was founded such sights were common and many travellers barely survived encounters with the deadly predators when driving down from Mos Vegas, in th days before Mos Carova received a shuttleport. With the city's expansion and increased hunting the krayt dragons were driven off, and the area was deemed safe.

The citizens reacted at once though, banding together to deal with the menace. The hunted down the dragons and, supported by the planetary authorities, also restored the shuttleport, which had been damaged by the invaders and put out of service for a few hours.

Pirate attack almost succeeds

Date: 090210
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The frequency and ferocity of the pirate attacks in civilian freighters seems to be increasing. Last night the "Trebuchet", a YT-1300 class light freighter piloted by Captain Zuulann, was transporting ore for the for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Nova Orion Station, Ord Mantell. The freightre was escorted by a TIE Oppressor from the Obsidian Dagger Squadron as well as Captain Ashen Katarna in his V-Wing.

Despite the escort the freighter was attacked several times by pirate raiders. One such attack happened right in the Tatooine system, and while the attacker was shot down it had damaged Ashen's fighter. The V-Wing needed emergency repairs to reach the station, where the remaining damage was fixed.

In the Naboo system another attack took place, both escorts ending up disabled in short order, and shortly afterwards the "Trebuchet" was disabled as well. While the raider was talking to Captain Zuulann though his crew managed to repair the ship enough to restore power for the turrets, allowing them to destroy the raider in a surprise attack.

The "Trebuchet" continued to Ord Mantell without further incidents.

Dissension within the ranks?

Date: 090210
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Imperial stormtroopers are the Empire's finest soldiers, impossible to corrupt, putting their lives on the line for the Emperor without question, dieing rather than giving up or betraying their orders. At least as far as the public knowns.

However recently there have been rumors that contradict this image. People talk abut stormtroopers fighting other imperial soldiers or even other stormtroopers. One such incident supposedly happened in Mos Carova weeks ago, another last night in Chalmun's in Mos Eisley. According to an eye witness a stormtrooper was fighting a trandoshan slaver when another stormtrooper shouted "Renegade!" and started shooting at the first stormtrooper.

Is this a sign of dissension within the ranks of the stormtrooper corps? According to military analysts it's more likely a rebel propaganda offensive, using captured stormtrooper armor to sow confusion and doubt - but there have been prominent defections in the past, from high-ranking imperial officers even. Until this can be cleared the nature of such incidents remains in doubt,

Food scandal? Authorities claim twi'lek skin condition caused by snack

Date: 070210
Planet: Naboo/Corellia
Region: Theed/Coronet

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Over the last few days, reports of twi'leks of both gender developping a pigment-changing skin condition have surfaced. In the words of one doctor treating a patient, the patient's skin color changed to "an eyeblindingly bright pink color" over the course of a few hours.

The cause of this was at first not known - several avenues were pursued, but yesterday the Theed Medical Center announced that the pigment change was caused by a new food additive used in the most recent "Spicy!!" variant of the popular snack food "Corellia Crackers". The food additive seems to cause no other harmful effects and the pigment change is estimated to last for a few weeks without further consumption of the additive.

The company producing "Corellia Crackers", Coronet Food Inc., stated that there was no proof of their product causing any of this, and speculated that this may be a ploy from some of their competitors. A spokesperson of the Theed Medical Center refuted those accusations.

While Coronet Food Inc. stock dropped 3% following the news the stock of several cosmetic manufacturers rose in response to the expected rise in demand for full-body twi'lek make-up. An alanyst from the Coronet Central Investment Bank speculated that this may help those manufacturers in gaining more male customers.

Imperial Fleet saves gas tanker "Mimban Explorer"

Date: 070210
Planet: Kiiliniri system (Yavin)

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the "Mimban Explorer", a Virella Systems Cargo Tanker, was carrying prothium blaster and leaving the BlasTech refinery at the Imperial controlled gas giant Kiilaniri in the southern Mid Rim of the galaxy near the Corellian Trade Spine when it came under attack by rebel raiders trying to hijack the ship and kidnap its crew.

The imperial forces stationed in the system responded at once though, starfighters and support craft out of the Escort Carrier "Terrup" and the Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser "Disorver" scrambling and making for the ship in distress at max speed.

Despite a large rebel force engaging in this act of piracy and fierce fighting the imperial ships remained victorious in the end, driving the rebels off and saving the "Mimban Explorer" as well as its crew. The rebels managed to steal some of the cargo, but took heavy losses in the process.

Merchant legend of Corellia closes shop

Date: 050210
Planet: Corellia
Region: Coronet

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

As was just confirmed by the Corellian Trade Association, merchant legend Yogol closed her shop south of Coronet, apparently retiring for good to enjoy her fortune. Yogol, a human female, has been a major force in Coronet's economy for years and her shop was widely known as having one of the best selections of rare and antique items of all kinds.

Yogol started humbly over six years ago, as an employee of the Coronet Starport, handling lost baggage claims as well as staffing the visitor's information center. She soon managed to turn the large number of contacts she made during her work into the foundation of a successful merchant business. In an age before the holonet allowed vendor searches she travelled the galaxy, following the most simple and yet most successful business plan for any merchant: Buy low, sell high.

Yogol became one of the most famous and successful merchants of Corellia, maybe even the galaxy, though her financial success was not without cost. Some competitors of her very vocally spoke up against her business, going as far as claiming she was responsible for the excesses of the sector's economy, mainly inflation and "price gauging". Despite the controversional tactics employed by her detractors, Yogol's business thrived, her fortune reaching legendary proportions.

Now it seems the charming yet wily woman has decided to enjoy the fruit of her long years of labor, and retire. The GNA wishes her the best for her new life.

Trandoshan Brotherhood takes down mercenaries

Date: 050210
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Chalmun's Cantina has a well-deserved reputation as a haven for criminal scum of all kinds - bounty hunters, smugglers, pirates, slavers, assassins, mercenaries and thieves number prominently among its regulars. The cantina also has a reputation as a very violent place, where fights are common and frequently deadly.

Last night another fight took place in Chalmun's when a group of armed and armored sentients - possibly mercenaries - faced off against a member of the Brotherhood of Trandosha, a well-known slaver organisation, and another sentient in full armor. The fight started after a heated exchange of words and was quickly over, with the trandoshan left standing over the battered bodies of his enemies.

The fate of the victims remains unclear so far - they, alive or dead, were dragged out of the cantina under the eyes of the trandoshan, the survivors possibly ending enslaved judging by some remarks.

Imperial escorts shoot down pirates

Date: 020210
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Faced with the rising frequency of pirate attacks the Empire has stepped up their patrols as well. Yesterday two TIEs from the Obsidian Dagger Squadron escorted the "Dae Nunt's Revenge", Falcun Nix' Nova Courier, which was transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation, during its trip from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.

The growing audacity of the pirate manifested itself in a bold attack on the convoy right when it started to leave Tatooine's orbit. One interceptor - a V-Wing - attacked and was engaged by the two escorts, managing to damage one before getting shot down. The damaged fighter was repaired at the orbital station - cut powerlines to the weapon systems were restored - and the convoy continued towards the Naboo system.

In the Naboo system, near Sea of Veruna, another pirate fighter attacked. While the freighter escaped the escports engaged it. Again one fighter took damage to its weappns systems but remained functional, shooting the raider down in the end. The ore was safely delivered to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.

Rebels break Imperial blockade in Naboo system

Date: 010210
Planet: Naboo system

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Two days ago the Imperial blockade around Rori - a moon notorious for harboring rebels - was challenged by a sizeable rebel force reportedly escorting supply freighters. The blockading forces were formed by elements from the 42nd Fighter Wing's Onyx and Obsidian Dagger Squadrons as well as the DFA Squadron and other units and were led by Commander Wezz Jansson.

From what is known the convoy had, at the time it reached Naboo, already passed through several patrolled systems, the rebels sacrificing several escorts to protect the freighters - a tactic they used again in the Naboo system by diverting the imperial forces and forcing openings for the convoy to Rori.

How the supplies and troops those freighters carried will influence the on-going ground and space war in the systme is as of yet unclear, but Keren is expected to remain under rebel control for the foreseeable future not least thanks to the continuing support it receives.
