Pirate Ambush foiled!

Date: 271009
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The weekly IMC ore transport from Tatooine to Ord Mantell last night consisted of Fish-Tec Industries'"Aluminum Falcon", a modified YT-1300, Captained by Zakor and piloted by Oblin, and escorted by Falcun Nix - of recent Tusken Trophy fame - in his X-Wing "Justice" and Ramona in her Scyk "Flo". Ichi Senshi and Senyka Darkeye crewed on the "Aluminum Falcon".

The convoy entered the Naboo System and flew around while the hyperdrives cooled without encountering any trouble when it suddenly received a grabled distress call. Suspicious because of the timing Falcun Nix proceeded to check on the distressed ship by himself while the "Aluminum Falcon" and "Flo" prepared to hyper out towards Ord Mantell.

When "Justice" reached the coordinates given - near an asteroid field - it was ambushed by two X-Wings. While a dogfight ensued the "Aluminum Falcun" hypered to the Ord Mantell system, where it landed safely on the Nova Orion Station.

Meanwhile Falcun Nix had succeeded in shooting down both pirate craft while taking armor damage to his ship himself. He managed to make it to the Nova Orion Station under his own power though, and his X-Wing underwent repairs there.

IMC shares rose 3 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Tusken Trophy won by Falcun Nix!

Date: 251009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Today the finals of the Tusken Trophy, Farpoint Valley's fabled Swoop Race, took place. Falcun Nix and Isuk'ap Sti-La, who together won the qualifying last night, started from the pole positions, with Skalui Urison, TK-SixtySix, Smero and Ist'es Irvist starting from second row.

The race took off, with Falcun and Isuk'ap battling for lead, when suddenly some natives of Tatooine started taking potshots at the racers - Tuskens and Jawas, for reasons unknown, seemed to have taken offense at the race. Tuskens have been reported to have attacked travellers in the area before, and are known to be violent, but the reasons for the agression by the Jawas remain a mystery.

Falcun was hit, and even wounded, but did continue the race, entering the final lap still battling Isuk'ap, and managed to beat her by a hair to the finishing line, earning the 10'000'000 credits for first prize. Isuk'ap won second prize, 6'000'000 and her team, RID Racing, also won the team competition, another 1'000'000. Third place went to Skalui, 4'000'000 credits.

After the race Falcun Nix received medical attention for his wound but it was not serious according to a first check.

Today reports reached us that an AT-AT walker had gone rogue inside the Quarantine Zone on Dathomir. Information is sscarce whether the AT-AT was hijacked by rebels, or if the crew has gone rogue, but a few anonymous sources claim the crew has been afflicted by the plague, and was now a danger to everyone inside the zone.

We have lost contact to our source inside the zone shortly afterwards and fear the worst. Any information about this AT-AT is appreciated.

Imperial Flagship lost in Deep Space

Date: 251009
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday the Imperial Navy sent a task force to Deep Space to hunt down the rebel command ship sighted there. Led by Commander Wezz Jansson of the Onyx Squadron the Imperial task force consisted of two gunships, one of them, the "ISS Onyx Mauler" being the flagship of the force, and about 10 escorting fighters from various units such as DFA, Onyx Squadron and Obsidian Squadron.

The task force ran into a numerically superiour rebel force and according to recent reports the flagship was ripped appart by waves of attacking B-Wings despite the brave actions of the escorting fighters.

The following footage, released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine, shows a skirmish after the main battle had ended:

Historian discovers sword of wookiee hero

Date: 231009
Planet: Kashyyyk
Region: Shadowed Lands

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday an archeological expedition on Kashyyyk led by Stlian Nix reached the planet's surface - the so-called "Shadowed Lands" - and discovered a sword that according to first analysis was likely to have been owned by the famous wookiee hero Zaalbar.

Zaalbar is said to have led the revolt to free the Wookies from the yoke of the Czerka Corporation during the Great Jedi Civil War four thousand years ago and was said to have marked all his personal equipment with his initial - and such an initial was found on the sword. Further checks will be needed to determine if the sword is genuine.

The expedition encountered a couple of obstacles and problems on the way down to the surface, such as hostile poachers and wildlife, which forced a number of members to return to the canopy regions prematurely. The archeological site itself had been turned into a predator's lair according to the reports from the expedition and the dangerous animal had to be slain to allow the historian to safely search the site.

Janta village slaughtered on Dantooine - ties to crimes on Tatooine and Lok?

Date: 221009
Planet: Dantooine
Region: Central Dantooine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

An entire village of Janta - men, women and children - were found slaughtered by a local traveling merchant last night on Dantooine. Jantas are a humanoid sentient species native to the planet and generally live a simple, even primitive life in small villages. A few years ago many Jantas were killed en masse by ruthless hunters since their blood was a commodity very much sought after to create enhanced stims from it, but after advances in medicine made this obsolete the hunting stopped.

Investigations and obductions showed that the Jantas had been killed by what appears to have been a 5-clawed hand, with one of the victims hurled through a rock wall, landing several dozen feet away and killed on impact. The vast majority however were found as withered husks, including one vicitm that was found bound to a tree.

This "withering" shows remarkable similarities to a string of gang-related killings on Tatooine and Lok. It is still not clear whether those killings were committed by a sentient, or an animal, but with the death count rising, finding out who or what is behind this becomes more and more important.

Galactic Moon Festival turns Mos Eisley into a Madhouse

Date: 221009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Eisley has had a reputation as a chaotic and violent town for a long time now, a place where the residents and regulars did not blink an eye at even the most exotic visitors and where violent confrontations often happened to draw attention.

With the advent of the Galactic Moon Festival though the city has turned into what can only be described as a nuthouse, the noise from countless costumed celebrants drowning out even the advertising droids.

According to reports Moenia on Naboo is in a similar state.

Pirate shot down in Naboo

Date: 201009
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The weekly IMC Convoy, this time consisting of Captain Falcun Nix' Nova Courier "Dae Nunt's Revenge", crewed by Nu'ro, Cosdassk and Ramona, and escorted by a TIE Oppressor from the Obsidian Dagger Squadron, set off from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, last night again.

The convoy reached the Naboo system without trouble through the Royal Way hyperspace jump point, but later got attacked near Sea of Veruna by an unidentfied heavy Scyk. The raider achieved surprise thanks to some miscommunication between the escort craft and the freighter over fire control but could not exploit the surprise and was shot down by the escorting TIE Oppressor after a short dogfight.

The "Dae Nunt's Revenge" reached the Nova Orion Station safely. According to unconfirmed rumors captain Falcun Nix was wounded in a barfight on the station shortly after arriving though the details are unclear so far and it's not known if that had any relation to the pirate attack.

IMC shares rose 3 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

A day after the last battle in Deep Space the Rebel Alliance launched a major offensive aimed staright at the Imperial Star Destroyer supporting the on going operations of the Imperial Navy in the sector.

The escorting starfighters - elements of the Obsidian Dagger Squadron, DFA and Onyx Squaron - launched a counter attack but were overwhelmed by superiour numbers and the the Star Destroyer was destroyed by a bomber strike supported by a rebel Nova Courier.

The surviving imperial starfighetrs conducted a fighting retreat, covering the evacuation of the crew of the Star Destroyer until they too fell. So far it's unclear how the Imperial Naval Command will react to the disaster.

The footage presented here was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine and shows the battles following the destruction of the Star Destroyer.

Widow of General Darkwalker-Lotus passes away

Date: 171009
Planet: Naboo
Region: Moenia

Story: Moenia Press Agency

Meredith Darkwalker-Lotus passed away last night, at the age of 75, the widow of Lieutenant General Therrid Darkwalker-Lotus of the Royal Security Forces on Naboo. The deceased general was a war hero during the Trade Federation blockade on the planet, one of the original street fighters of the resistance during the time, he was highly decorated and revered between both the human and Gungan societies after the war for fostering cooperation and a change of relations. He passed away at the age of eighty six three years ago from a heart attack.

The widow, who was also rather highly respected in both societies as a diplomat, passed away in her home in Moenia, due to old age and natural causes. Eight years ago, her only daughter, who was 21 at the time, disappeared and was never found again, she was a student at the Theed Royal Institute of Space Studies, studying Astrogeology, Astrobiology and Astrophysics.

A public funeral is to be held for her and she is to be buried next to her husband in a private mausoleum on burial ground reserved for close friends to the Royal Family of Naboo. She leaves no heirs to her name or legacy that are known to be alive besides her daughter, who was presumed dead long ago.

More fighting in Deep Space over asteroids

Date: 171009
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The asteroids in Deep Space are starting to become a focal point for the Galactic Civil War. Last night there was another clash over control of the asteroids and their ore in Deep Space, a battle which saw even more tactical maneuvers than those last week.

Spearheaded by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron, DFA and Onyx Squaron the Imperial Starfighters battled the rebels throughout the sector, gaining the upper hand in a war of atrition and fast attacks and counter attacks.

This was just a temporary victory though, since the rebel forces struck back with even more guile and determination. Supported by an Incom X-4 Gunship and its massive firepower their quick and agile A-Wings kept the pressure up, slowly turning the tide until both sides were back where they had started.

The footage presented here was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine and shows ships from DFA, Obsidian Dagger Squadron and other imperial Units in action.

Slavers struck down in Lucky Despot

Date: 171009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Not long after the zeltron Nirii was violently freed on Lok Aak's slavers met with more adversity. Apparently they had come to the Lucky Despot after the fight on Lok to recuperate some, and tempers must have still running high since the treatment of their slaves present was worse than usual - in public, which led to visible resentment and anger among the other guests.

Undeterred the abuse of the slaves continued until the last straw broke the eopie's back when a slave was punished by one slaver for following Aak's orders. While the wily Toydarian himself had left the casino already, his second in command, Lady Haruka, had stayed behind for some more abuse over a tea brewed by a slave, and was struck down by a bald (and apparently blind) man with a lightsaber.

a twi'lek woman tried to help her but was not quick enough and quickly left the casino before the bald man and his friends could turn on her. The security detail of Aak returned quickly and the infamous Opal and a man in ubese armor atacked the bald man that had struck down Haruka and his two female friends.

Both Opal and her fellow slaver were defeated and the trio left the casino, leaving the slavers and slaves to their fate. At this point it is not known whether or not this attack is related to the fight on Lok, though one thing seems sure - abusing your slave in public is riskier than some of the slavers may have thought.

Slave rescued on Lok

Date: 171009
Planet: Lok
Region: Nym's Base

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Nirii, the slave recaptured two days ago in the Lucky Despot was apparently freed by force yesterday in Nym's cantina on Lok. From what is known there was a meeting of the owners of the zeltron with an interested buyer - a twi'lek in full armor - in the cantina.

Aak in person, in the company of his employees and seurity detail, met the twi'lek. The negotiations were still going on when suddenly two armored twi'leks opened fire with scatterguns, scattering the slavers and wounding a zabrak woman who seemed to be Nirii's handler.

The "interested buyer" used the confusion to grab Nirii and flee with her while a number of other sentients started a firefight with the rest of the slavers.

The security detail of Aak reacted fast though and struck back, wounding, maybe killing some attackers before they managed to get away. The slavers stuck not around for long either though, since one of their numbers was gravely wounded, and they made haste to the starport to get her to a med center off-planet.

According to rumors the slavers swore revenge though and are already hunting both the rescuers as well as the escaped slave.

Escaped slave recaptured in Lucky Despot

Date: 161009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Nirri, the zeltron who was kidnapped by employes of Aak the Toydarian in Farpoint Valley earlier this week, apparently managed to escape the clutches of the slavers - but not for long.

Last night the girl visited the Lucky Despot in Mos Eisley, Tatooine when a group of Aak's slavers spotted her and quickly cornered her. One man - a slaver according to rumors - tried to intervene but was chased off by Opal Lycanus while the girl was knocked down and tied up, then dragged to Aak.

Aak had the zeltorn on display for a while afterwards, kept tied to a table, when an armored woman stepped up and claimed Nirri was her slave, demaning her back.

Aak and his employees disagreed, doubted the veracity of the claim, and refused to hand Nirri over. The dispute turned violent and the woman was quickly overwhelmed by the entire security detail of the Toydarian and left bleeding on the floor.

Bystanders tried to treat the wounded woman but she refused their help, even threatenend them with her blaster while dragging herself out of the casino. In the meantime Nirri was moved off planet.

Suspected grenade thief found dead in Tyrena!

Date: 151009
Planet: Corellia
Region: Tyrena

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Contrary to some opinions CorSec has not been idle regarding the mystery of the grenade crate that was found a week ago in Doaba Guerfel but their efforts suffered a setback last night when the main suspect in the case, going by the name Affus Ohab, was found slain in the Cantina in Tyrena. According to our information he was shot multiple times in the head and chest with large caliber projectile weapon and left to bleed out to his death. No witnesses are known at this point.

The cantina in Tyrena, Corellia

As records show Affus Ohab, a known underworld figure, was the brother of Nardi Ohab, another well-known criminal who was killed in an execution style murder on Endor in the Science outpost a year ago by an unknown assassin in black Black Sun style bounty hunter armor using a heavy weapon and a droideka, presumably for the bounty worth 85'000 imperial credits placed on him at the time.

The CorSec spokesperson did not comment on whether or not Affus was killed by someone involved in the case to silence him before he could be interrogated by the authorities or if he was killed for other reasons, possibly involving his brother's death. Rumors and speculations abound however.

Quarantine on Dathomir?

Date: 151009
Planet: Dathomir
Region: Southeastern Dathomir

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Dathomir hasn't had the best reputation for some time. From being inhabitated by xenophic violent force users and a fauna that seems to consider all sentients their favorite prey to the horrible weather and dark skies the planet is not exactly a top choice for any vacation.

But since a few days there's a new, ugly rumor going on about even worse troubles on Dathomir - a rumor about a quarantine zone, a deathly virus and a massive military presence of the Empire.

Information is scarce since the quarantine zone is enforced with deadly violence but what we could gather does not look good: Substantial amounts of troops and medical assets have been deployed, draconic measures are taken with regards to disinfection, and prominent officers have been put in charge.

Something must have gone really wrong on Dathomir.

Sandcrawler crashes into house!

Date: 151009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Central Tatooine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Jawas are known to roam Tatooine, scavenging and selling all kinds of tech and droids. The small sentients travel in huge vehicles known as sandcrawlers which not just allow them to travel over the dunes but also offer them protection from sandstorms and some - though not all as the burned out sandcrawler near Mos Eisley shows - dangers of the desert.

As safe as the sandcrawlers are for jawas one cannot say they are safe for everyone else, as those pictures prove:

As shown this sandcrawler crashed into a house in central Tatooine, smashing the ramp and blocking the door to the house until the vehicle could be moved thanks to several heavy repulsorlifts brought in from Bestine.

The reasons for the crash are not known - the jawas did not speak basic and left before a translator droid could be procured.

Second explosive dispute in Lucky Despot

Date: 131009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Lucky despot had barely restored its main room after it had been damaged by several grenade explosions a few days ago when last night another explosive dispute took place - between a hunter on black and green armor and a retired combat medic.

Sound familiar? Indeed! Apparently the same pair that had wrecked the interiour once did it again, throwing grenades left and right, this time involving a rodian guest as well, who took offense ot his drink getting blown up.

While most other guests and the dancer on stage fled the rodian and the hunter chased the medic down into the cellars of the casino, knocking him out in a short but violent combat, then starting to work him over when other guests intervened and stopped them - but according to some rumors just so they could beat up the man themselves.

No fatalities were reported and most of the wounds caused apparently were counted as the results of accidents by the authorities. Though the "self-induced stabbing wound in the shoulder during an attempt to sheathe a blade" and "accidentally shocked by own droid trying to help" do not sound that convincing the involved sentients seem to be sticking to their stories.

The Lucky Despot management announced that the casino would be ready for today's regular business hours.

Thunder Pirates cripple IMC Convoy

Date: 131009
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Thunder Pirates, a vicious pirate gang that has plagued the spacelanes in the sector, has been quiet for a few weeks, but they are back in the spotlight, so to speak, after last night.

The weekly IMC Convoy, this time consisting of Captain Ad'hemar Voltin's YT-2400 "Peregrine" and Captain Corym Ifen's Y-8 class "Miner Pleasure", escorted by Inaera Kell in her advanced X-Wing "Void Stalker", had made good time from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Naboo system when they were ambushed at the Sea of Veruna hyperspace point by a Vaksai heavy fighter and an ARC-170.

In the following fight "Peregrine" managed to evade at first while Inaera Kell engaged the raiders, but was disabled after a lenghy dogfight, shortly followed by "Miner Pleasure". At that point "Peregrine" returned, strafing the raiders several times but ultimately getting her engines damaged and ending up immobilized herself.

By that time both "Void Stalker" and "Miner Pleasures" had managed to emergency reapir their propulsion systems. "Miner Pleasures" was caught trying to limp away and shot up again, causing critical system failures that forced the crew to use the emergency pods but "Void Stalker" managed to gain enough distance and time to effect more complete repairs and return, blowing up the ARC-170 raider in a surprise attack.

The Thunder Pirate Vaksai fought the X-Wing again, and managed to get the better of her after another long fight, disabling "Void Stalker". Afterwards the pirates let the "Peregrine" go, stating that the fate of the rest of the convoy should serve as a warning to future victims and that the Thunder Pirates were back to be feared.

The "Peregrine" reached the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell with minimal engine power, delivering their cargo, but the ore on board the "Miner Pleasures" was lost.

IMC shares fell 2 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Kidnapping in Farpoint Valley

Date: 131009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

A woman named Nirri was kidapped last night in Farpoint Valley. According to eye witnesses she was hunted down near the city hall by Opal and Sylesk, two slavers in Aak the Toydarian's employ, and dragged off, presumably to Rori. Two bystanders who tried to save the woman were brutally struck down. A friend of Nirri, noted dancer Isuk'ap, was threatened as well, but escaped unharmed.

Several rumors claim that there's already a substantial force being gathered to rescue the poor woman - with Isuk'ap's popularity after her concert in Fort Oasis just a few days ago this seems very plausible. It remains to be seen if anything will come of this.

Farpoint Valley's mayor, Kimisei Bythmi, voiced his concern over the possibility of such blatant and brutal attacks having negative effects on the town's economy but stated that there was no need for the City itself to act yet.

Tropical Palms Casino opens on Talus

Date: 111009
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the Tropical Palms Casino opened in New Doros, Talus. The casino, sporting a tropical rainforest theme that includes holographic rain inside and a fake jungle canopy on the ceiling, is run by Wynton from Maternix InterGalactic Enterprises. Wynton, a very experienced manager in the casino business, has run several such enterprises in other sectors in the past, such as the Vista Paradise Casino, the Grand Polynesian Casino and the Maternix Club and Casino. In addition to the main room full of slot machines, a bar and gambling tables, the casino also has an underground VIP area, styled like a cave, with several private rooms.

The opening night fell on the same day as a big event in New Doros run by Jod Iegemai, which helped in drawing a crowd - as did the hiring of the Neutron Pixies and the musicians Nu'ro Tualin and Kas'ra as entertainment for the opening act. Ramona from the Neutron Pixies performed the three-song cycle "Coronet - Heart of Corellia" while Kas'ra sang, among others, "Many Bothans Died" and "Clone Center Blues".

Among the guests attending were mayor Cas-Ru Roben and his fiancee, Sowisp Blush, the winner of the swoop race held the same day, Kelron', as well as many locals and visitors from the sector.

Battle focuses on asteroids in Deep Space

Date: 111009
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night Deep Space saw another extended battle between the Imperial Navy and the space forces of the Alliance to restore the Republic. Both sides were intent on securing asteroids containing valuable ore in the sector, though contrary to other such missions this time neither side seemed to field any mining ships.

The battle was very fast paced by all accounts and quick scouts moved from asteroid to asteroid while the main forces of both faction clashed in brutal and extended combat around one or the other asteroid. In a remarkable contrast to other space battles both sides kept feeding ships, even capital ships, into those battles once they got started, unwilling to rally and regroup until they had been wiped out completely.

In the end the Empire claimed victory, though informed sources stated that it had been a very narrow affair, with the smallest factors such as a single ship missing an important order, making the difference. Despite the lengthy and bloody battles strategy more than brute force seemed crucial.

The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine and shows ships from DFA, Obsidian Dagger Squadron and Onyx Squadron, among others:

Concert in Fort Oasis a success!

Date: 101009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Fort Oasis

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night Isuk'ap held a concert in Fort Oasis, Tatooine. Under the watchful eyes of the stormtroopers from RID the audience had gathered in the town's theatre, right behind the shuttleport, to watch several famous musicians and dancers perform, some for the first time in Fort Oasis.

The opening act was Nu'ro Tualin and Kas'ra, followed by Isuk'ap herself with a dance performance. Then the Neutron Pixies Ramona, Senyka and Aylia' took the stage, performing "Twin Suns of Tatooine" for the first time, to the music from Nu'ro and Kas'ra. The Red Bocatts, smashing as ever, provided the final act, animating several members of the audience to dance as well.

RID leader and mayor of Fort Oasis Lexx Yovel was in attendance as well and announced that the successful concert was just the start of a series of future events.

Kidnapping foiled in Jailbirds

Date: 101009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Jailbirds has been known since its first opening as a club where the guests can relax in safety without fearing a violent attack so common on Tatooine. Not everyone however seems to respect this.

Yesterday two employes of Aak the Toydarian slaver, Opal Lyncanus and a helper of hers identified as Syslek, were observed trying to lead a guest of the club out. The girl was suffering from disorientation but had been feeling fine just the moment before, and given the two slavers' reputation, the club's staff immediately - and correctly, as was found out later - suspected foul play and intervened. It took the threat of violence however to make the two slavers give up and leave the club.

A medic was called in and checked the drugged girl out - tentatively identified as "Car" - finding a tranq dart in her neck. Security recordings linked the dart to "Syslek". The club's management stated that the sensors had been upgraded to prevent people from bringing in such a device as had been used - and that people suspected to not honor Jailbirds policy of providing a safe place for all its guests, no matter their occupation, should expect a far more thorough security check if they wished to enter.

Hotel lobby blown up in Nashal

Date: 101009
Planet: Talus
Region: Nashal

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Nashal, a town which had suffered much laltely, both from the plague on Talus and when a nearby rebel base became the target of an orbital bombardment, was shaken once again two days ago when an explosion rocked the lobby of the Nashal City Hotel.

Nashal City Hotel - archive picture

The authorities arriving at the hotel found a gruesome sight: The hotel clerk was killed as were two guests he was talking to at the reception and various patrons currently in the in the lobby were injured, several wandering around in a shock or panic.

In addition to the blast damage several electronic devices were fried within a small radius of the blast. A hotel patron reported a stolen speeder but it's currently not clear if this is related to the explosion.

The remains of a small detonator were found inside the lobby so the explosion was determinded to have been caused deliberately though the identity of the culprit as well as the motive for this crime are as of now still unknown.

Slavers becoming even more brutal

Date: 101009
Planet: Talus/Tatooine
Region: New Doros/Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The slavers headquartered in New Doros are starting to become even more brutal when dealing with those who do not tolerate their practises.

According to the latest rumors the supposed anti-slavery activist caught by Aak the Toydarian's slavers four days ago, a "Ranger Glenn", was handed over to the Brotherhood of Trandoshans, who abused and mutilated him before passing him to another group who also wanted a piece of Glenn - maybe litereally, the Dosh are said to have bitten off his hand. By the reports given the poor man was in so bad shape already that he's expected to be needing intensive care until he is healthy enough to survive further torture. The mind boggles at this notion, but the slavers are obviously finding that kind of depraved sadistic venture normal.

In possible related news Thode Voth, another man said to oppose slavery, was said to have disappeared while visiting Tatooine yesterday. Rumors link his disappearance to Aak's organisation as well, so the worst must be feared.

It does seem as if the slavers are targetting any and all opposition to their dirty practises, and are acting with almost unprecedent brutality. All those who peacefully protest slavery should keep this in mind.

Some may have already taken this to mind - according to unconfirmed rumors someone fired with a blaster rifle at Aak the Toydarian last night when he was leaving Farpoint Valley.

Stolen explosives found on Corellia

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night Corsec authorities found a suspect crate outside the Doaba Guerfel starport. Upon closer inspection it they discovered that it contained the outer shells of military-grade explosives. The cores and primers of the explosives however were missing.

Further investigations revealed that the crate had been recently reported as stolen from a military depot on Naboo, outside Theed. Despite thought to be stolen by Rebels it had not been deemed an important concern as only thirty two grenades were in the entire container - a platoon of soldiers can go through more than that amount in a singly skirmish. Now, with all 32 casings found but the explosive cores and primers missing still, the situation has changed somewhat - if combined the amount of explosives that was removed from the grenades could form quite a charge, especially if used against non-hardened civilian buildings.

So far there's no suspect yet in this case though the investigation is still going on.

Explosive Dispute in the Lucky Despot

Date: 091009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Lucky Despot in Mos Eisley, usually a safer and more quiet place than Chalmun's, is having a bad week. Apart from the recent display of violence by slavers and the constant reports of blasterfire coming from a backroom there also was a more destructive incident two days ago.

As far as is known it started when an unknown sentient in green and black armor who entered the casino and asking around if anyone had seen a man in armor enter the Lucky Despot. The new arrival was then asked to leave by one of the patrons, to which the armored man responded by sticking his blaster into the patron's face.

Not particularly fazed - at least according to witnesses - the threatened man managed to slap the blaster away and ran outside. Now the armored man turned his blaster on two other people present, an off-duty medic from the First Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force, and a you twi'lek woman. The medic drew his own blaster when threatened and was shot in the leg. His and the twi'lek's return fire did not manage to pierce the armor of the man advancing on him until he hit him between the legs.

At this point suddenly a warning was shouted from outside - the man who had fled earlier had returned and threw a grenade inside. Thanks to the warning the people inside were barely able to take cover though the interiour suffered considerable damage. The man in green and black armor, thought to be a bounty hunter, was then helped in getting away by another unknown man in composite armor while another grenade of unknown origin went off in the casino's entrance.

According to the local authorities no Imperial reports were filed concerning the incident, which has been classified as "gang-related violence".

"Outlaw's Justice" shoots down outlaws

Date: 061009
Planet: Tatoo System/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the Intergalactic Mining Company sent out Captain Inaera Kell's "Outlaw's Justice", a YT-2400 class light freighter, with a cargo of ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. The ship was escorted by a TIE Advanced piloted by Oneath, courtesy of the Galactic Empire.

The trip passed uneventful until shortly before the two ships were ready to jump from the Naboo system to Ord Mantell. Right then they were attacked near Rori Oribtal Station by an unidentified ARC-170. Both freighter and escorting starfighter reacted quickly however, evading the first volleys of the attacker and shooting it down immediately after it had passed them by.

That a pirate attacked so close to Rori was explained by authorities by the losses the Imperial Navy took in the recent battle at the hyperspace jumppoint Sea of Veruna, which hampered their patrols somewhat in the Rori area.

IMC shares rose 3 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Bounty mark dragged into Jailbirds?

Date: 061009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The rumors about Aak the Toydarian slaver putting out bounties on his enemies seem to be true despite him being notoriously thight-fisted with credits. Last night the slaver was visiting Jailbirds in Farpoint Valley with his entourage of slaves and cut-throats when suddenly an unconscious man was dragged inside by the infamous Opal Lycanus and an unknown helper.

As it turned out the man had been wanted by Aak and it is likely he had put out a bounty on him. The man, tentatively identified as "Ranger Glenn", was in better shape than Aak and his crew liked - supposedly they voiced their disappointment that he was not beaten up and wounded worse.

As Jailbirds shortly afterwards closed - rumors claim this was not related as usual to the start of the weekly IMC convoy, but to an incident involving the Neutron Pixie member Senyka Darkeye - and the unfortunate captive was dragged out its final fate remains unknown.

Bothan victim of bioweapon?

Date: 061009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night a male bothan was seen stumbling around in Chalmun's in Mos Eisley, obviously in pain and in need of medical attention. The bothan was blind as well, and suffering from amnsesia. A zabrak field medic on leave who was visiting the bar took it upon himself to lead the bothan to the Mos Eisley Medical center to treat him.

Unfortunately the bothan's ailment was discovered to be far more serious than expected - when the medic gave him a pain killer injection the bothan's skin rapidly deteriorated - "exploded" was the term some eye witnesses used - which required immediate emergency care to save his life. Due to the absence of a specialized doctor the staff at the medical center could do no more than stabilize the patient.

While the exact cause of this illness is not known yet some members fear that the bothan has been affected by a bioweapon and may die if no specialist can treat him in time. If you see this bothan please contact the nearest medical authorities and avoid touching him.

Imperial blockade around Rori broken - Rebel forces smashed over Talus

Date: 041009
Planet: Naboo System/Corellia System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the Imperial Starfighters patrolling around Rori came under heavy attack from rebel forces. It soon became apparent that the Rebel Alliance was trying to clear the way through the Sea of Veruna hyperspace jumppoint - the closest route to Rori. Suspecting that there was a rebel troop transport on the way the Imperial forces rallied and fought off several waves of rebel attack craft.

However most defending ships suddenly suffered technical malfunctions and were rendered inoperative for a short term of time - scientists registered severe fluctuations in the sun of Naboo at the time - which gave the rebels a window of opportunity that they used to slip a transport through the confused imperials.

The Imperial Navy had more success in the Corellia system, where rebel forces were attacking an imperial transport on its way to Talus. The escorting forces under Commander Wezz Jansson managed to clear the way after heavy fighting, allowing the Decimator "ISS-Bismarck" to land safely at the Imperial Base on Talus.

The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine and shows ships from DFA, Obsidian Dagger Squadron and Onyx Squadron, among others:

Spice Smugglers caught near Farpoint Valley

Date: 031009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night a TIE patrol on landing approach to Bestine reported a downed spacecaft west of Farpoint Valley, obscured by smoke, and flashes of blasterfire. The Imperial Garrison dispatched an officer to check up on this.

The officer arrived at the scene to see a burning shuttle, two damaged AV-21 speeders, and a few men and women under siege by a group of Tusken. The officer engaged the tusken and succeeded in driving them off or killing them, then approached the survivors of the attack to render assistance.

To her surprise the men turned on her, and she was forced to shoot them in self-defense. As it turned out the cargo consisted of a big amount of illegal spice - the men likely had been smugglers, caught by the tusken while loading the cargo on their shuttle.

An investigation into possible ground contacts was started. According to well-informed sources Lt. Colonel Welaspic will be involved.

Streetfight in Farpoint Valley

Date: 031009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

According to our reports a streetfight occured last night in Farpoint Valley involving an unknown but sizable number of people in various armor and clothes - mostly of civilian make. The reasons for the fight are unknown but according to city authorities there were no fatalities, so the whole incident was classified as a "brawl".

Independent reports of the use of advanced weaponry and even heavy weapons were not commented ny Mayor Kimisei Bythmi other than by repeating his statement that there were no fatalities known, and that he saw no cause for any action by the town authorities.

Bloody barfight in the Lucky Despot

Date: 031009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Lucky Despot saw another bloody incident last night, when a visitor insulted a winged slaver and was struck down, beaten, and severly abused - his back was raked with claws and his arm cruelly broken - as a result.

A medic among the audience tried to help the man, but the wounded - likely iinebriated and/or spiced - struck and lashed out at the medic and had to be forcefully sedated before he could be moved to the Medical Center for treatment.

More slave-related Violence in New Doros?

Date: 100309
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

As predicted more violence related to slavery is happening. According to the latest reports a slave was chased down at the bank of a river near New Doros by a humanoid in red armor and stabbed in the bank. The slave only survived thanks to the intervention of a passer-by.

The reasons behind the attack are not clear but given the violent nature of slavers and the practise of slavery itself such incidents are sadly normal.

String of strange murders in Mos Eisley and on Lok

Date: 021009
Planet: Tatooine/Lok
Region: Mos Eisley/Northern Lok

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Both Tatooine and Lok are known as havens for criminals of all sorts. Mos Eisley on Tatooine in particular has a reputation as a hive of scum and villainy, where the popular opinion is that more criminals than law-abiding citizens roam the streets. And Lok is, outside a few outposts and settlements controlled by the Empire, populated by various pirates, feuding with each other and Nym, the pirate king of the planet.

As expected violence is very common in those places, and sometimes a murder can be bought for less credits than a drink. People are used to violent clashes between gangs or mercenaries and are rarely fazed by blastershots not aimed at themselves. Sometimes however they make an exception.

Such is the case with a recent string of killings in Mos Eisley and on Lok. Several local thugs have been found dead, killed in a peculiar way. Their bodies were left "lifeless husks", to quote a witness, with a a set of claw wounds from a five fingered hand or paw on their chest the only clue.

Corpse found in Mos Eisley

No one seems to know what killed the gang members, or even how, but the first theory that it was a single mutated animal of sort - like a mynock - was discarded when bodies turned up on two planets. While it's not impossible that this is the result of a new species brought to both planets recently, the lack of sightings and the general probability imply that this is the act of a sentient being - a serial killer with so far unknown means.

Mos Carova's new hangar revealed

Date: 021009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Carova

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Carova, not lacking attractions, especially for a settlement on Tatooine, recently revealed a starship hangar. Owned by Ashen' Katarna, captain of the X-4 class "Crescent Raven" freighter, the hangar houses several starfighters including an impressive KSE Firespray patrol craft.

On a planet rife with sandstorms so violent they can strip the flesh of a living sentient from his bones according to some resident's tales, a closed hangar greatly enhances the service life of any starship stored within, a fact well known to any experienced spacer.

Tusken raiding group encountered near Farpoint Valley

Date: 021009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Tusken raiders, also known as sand people, are a native species on Tatooine and well known - even feared in some circles - for their violent hatred of every other sentient species. They usually attack everyone on sight, even Jawas, which are also indegnous to Tatooine. They lack the technology of a spacefaring civilisation and are therefore limited to old weapons they scavenge, but their savagery and knowledge of the land makes them formidable foes.

Yesterday a group traveling from Farpoint Valley to Mos Carova took a detour to the oasis near Farpoint Valley and ran straight into a large group of Tusken raiders. In the following fight they managed to drive off or kill the sand people, but two of them sustained wounds which needed medical attention - due to unfortunate irony one of them was Ichi Senshi, a medic on leave from the First Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force, who otherwise would have been able to treat the wounded. Both wounded are expected to fully recover though.

While the oasis' water is sought by the sand people they almost never range as far east as this, which leaves the locals wondering if this was a raid aimed at the nearby city or if there were other reasons for the presence of the tusken. According to some accounts the tusken also displayed some strange behaviour during the fight.

Slavery Controversy on Naboo turning violent?

Date: 021009
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The practise of slavery, unfortunately common in the Outer Rim and even on core worlds such as Talus, is a hot topic on more civlized planets such as Naboo, famous for its arts and culture. This is mainly due to some slave owners like Aak the Toydarian sending their "property", usually enslaved twi'lek entertainers, to work in Theed. Naboo's society is split in how to react to this - forbid it, and risk that the slaves are sent to far more dangerous planets such as Tatooine to work? Accept it, and appear to tolerate or even condone slavery?

Cantina and Salon in Theed

The residents of Naboo, like many galactic citizens in those trying times of civil war and rampant crime, seem to answer this individually, with some opposing the slaver's business, even violently, others tolerating it, and a number not caring at all as long as the entertainment is good.

Reports of individuals freeing those unfortunate slaves from bondage started to appear frequently, though anonymously to protect both the escaped slave and the rescuer from retaliation. However as the recent disappearance of three such activists in Theed as well as rumored bounties placed on Talus on people with similar views show the slavers are not going to take this interference by freedom-loving individuals with their "business" without fighting back.

With three missing people, no clues about what happened to them other than they were last seen with slaves in public and bounty hunters on the verge of getting hired to go after anti-slavery activists many Nabooians fear that more activists will turn to violence instead of peaceful protests. Some even expect the Rebel Alliance to become active in this struggle - with many prominent wookiees personally acquainted with the horrors of slavery among their ranks the rebels have both the will and the means to take the fight against slavery to a whole new level - a level that could level cities.

Kowakian Monkey-Lizard Sanctuary opens in Farpoint Valley

Date: 011009
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After some time spent searching, the Kowakian Monkey-Lizard Sanctuary has found a new home in Farpoint Valley, Tatooine! Mayor Kimisei Bythmi in person helped JhoBho, the caretaker of the sancturay, to settle in and was the first person to visit the sanctuary at its new location.

Inside the impressive building live about 500 Kowakian monkey-lizards in safety, in an enviroment sculpted after their native rainforests of Kowak. The building is open for visitors who would like to experience this unique venue in person.

Whether or not the Kowakian monkey-lizards are sentient or not is up to debate among the galactic scientist community, but whoever saw to what length the little monkeys can go to play a practical joke on a taller sentient would not doubt their intelligence, even if it is paired with an unfortunate tendency towards mischief and cruelty.

Mayor Kimisei Bythmi stated that he was very proud that JhoBho choose Farpoint Valley, and that the little monkey-lizards were adorable. He recommends from personal experience that any visitors should either abstain from petting the monkey-lizards, or wear sturdy gloves to avoid getting bitten in case of a misunderstanding.

More Murders on Talus

Date: 011009
Planet: Talus
Region: Northern Talus

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday prospectors looking for ore depots on Talus found the remains of a gruesome crime instead when they passed near a cave entrance in the northern part of the planet: Staked on wooden posts were three human heads, with the dismembered bodies placed at the cave entrance.

More bodies were found in the ruins of a temple located nearby, though as the investigating law-enforcement officers found out those were older, and died in the collapse of the temple, or the subsequent fire, so it's not clear if there is a link between the deaths there and at the cave.

The only clues found were pieces of red robes left at the remains of a campfire, where, judging from the amount of blood-soaked earth, the dismemberment had taken place.

Authorities did not comment upon speculations that those new murders were related to the corpses that were found a while ago in the rivers south of Dearic, but the modus operandi seems rather different so independent experts came to the conclusion that the crime swere likely committed by different people.
