Last night the Sector fleet of the Galactic Empire launched another offensive against the rebel naval forces. Starting in the Corellia System and continuing into Deep Space, an Imperial task force hunted key rebel ships, both squadron leaders and capital command ships.
The task force suffered a setback right at the start, when one of their own command ships was lost to a rebel counter attack in the midst of wide-spread ion storms that sent ships and fighters of both sides crashing by the dozens.
But the pilots and crew of the Imperial Fleet rallied, fixed the system issues and struck out at the Alliance forces in Deep Space, destroying two command ships and one squadron commander in short order without losing any more key ships of their own.

IMC Convoy escapes from pirates

Last week the Intergalactic Mining Corporation hired two known and respected veteran pilots, Dee'lin Sarlo, captain of the YT-1300-class "Phoenix", and Athmis Thewix, captain of the "CORT Starflare", another YT-1300, to ship ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. Falcun Nix, Britney and Therrid acted as gunners, Barrenger Fynar and Yescek Shadowlight flew escort, in a Vaksai and Belbullab-22
The ships were attacked in the Corellia System near Talus Secta by two pirates. In the ensuing fight both escorts enganged the pirates, allowing the two freighters to escape without taking any damage. Barrenger Fynar's ship was damaged and required repairs at Corellia Orbital afterwards while Yescek Shadowlight's fighter lost its weapons but could disengage and follow the freighters. One pirate was shot down while the other escaped.
IMC's stock rose 1,5% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Firefight in Mos Eisley

Two days ago Mos Eisley saw a very violent incident - a literal firefight - near the local theatre when an humanoid sentient in full heavy armor attacked a group of people with a flame thrower. Most of them fled, many of them wounded.
Among the fleeing people was a wounded man who apparently had been attacked, robbed and kidnapped by the group before, using this opportunity to escape. It is not known if the flame thrower wielder was attacking out of revenge for a similar event in the past, or if this was related to gang conflicts.

Nova Orion Station upgrades defenses

After increasing problems with pirates attacking ships near or even at the Nova Orion Shipyards, the Nova Orion Station's defenses have been upgraded. A control tower was added with better sensors to detect incoming pirates early, as were gun turrets for point defense.
Both additions were tested this week already when several pirates kept attacking both ships and the station itself until they were driven off by turret fire and intercepting mercenary fighters such as Barrenger Fynar's latest Krayt Dancer.

Imperial Troops massing in West Carova

According to the latest reports West Carova has seen a significant increase of imperial troopers lately. It seems the imperial garrison there was reinforced after a recent attack by insurgent.
If this is just a temporary surge or a more permanent deployment and whether this will increase the town's security or attract more attacks by Alliance forces still remains to be seen.

Galactic Empire wins fight over bases on Corellia and Naboo

Last night both Corellia and Naboo saw extended battles over two military installations. Imperial forces secured both locations and then held out against multiple rebel assaults for hours. The rebel attackers managed to briefly drive out the defenders at either base after an hour, but the Imperial forces reacted swiftly and their immediate counter-attacks drove the rebels away in each location.
After almost two hours the rebels withdrew, leaving the imeprial forces holding the field.

Arklem Qeq at large again!

Arklem Qeq is at large again! The infamous pirate man had been arrested last week by the Imperial Garrison of West Carova, but he was spotted last night, landing his YT-1300 "Blazing Claw" on in Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.
According to reports the pirate walked down the ramp, staring down the blasters of the imperial troops and station security facing him, and demanded a meeting with the station's administrator, Iskar Kreed, to clear their "past issues".
The pirate did get a private meeting, and later left the station without being troubled by security. So far nothing is known about what happened in that meeting, but speculation is rampant.

Nova Orion strikes at Pirates

The Ord Mantell System has been a hunting ground for pirates since months and the Nova Orion Station has suffered many attacks by those criminals. So many that last night the shipyards hired several mercenaries to strike back.
The target was an old space station used by pirates as a base. Defended by heavy several pirate ships and heavy shielding it was a hard nut to crack even for two armed freighters, one older ARC-170 recon ship and a TIE Interceptor dispatched as an escort from the Onyx Squadron stationed in the system.
According to the information released the "Exodus" piloted by Captain Wint Risden docked with the pirate station and had a droid plant explosives directly on its hull while the other ships engaged the pirate ships defending the base and covering the "Exodus". During the engagement numerous pirates were shot down but the attacking force fond its route back to the Nova Orion Station cut off by strong pirate reinforcements.
Jan Forsythe, an imperial pilot with Onyx Squadron, was killed during this second phase of the operation while the other ships reached the Nova Orion Station, although damaged.
Scanner recordings as well as an automated emergency broadcast that started shortly after the explosives detonated indicate that the pirate base was damaged beyond repair.

Last night an archeological field trip to Mos Espa in search of clues about the fate of a lost ship with possibly significant historical value was attacked by a large tusken force when going through the archives of Mos Espa. The people attending the field trip wer able to hold the raiding natives back long enough to complete the fact finding and escape, but some were hurt in the process.
Later the group was attacked by what seemed to be deranged cutltists when investigating a possible location of the ship. As it turned out it was not the missing ship, but a sort of temple.

Kefic Mourn steals IMC Cargo

Last night the Intergalactic Mining Corporation chartered the "Witch of Endor", a medium freighter owned and piloted by Captain Kefic Mourn, to transport a large amount of crystalline gemstone from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.
The trip started with trouble as the "Witch of Endor" was attacked right after leaving tatooine's orbit by what appeard to be a deserter from the Imperial Fleet. The freighter managed to jump out witthout taking damage. More attacks followed in the Corellia System by several pirate ships, and also in Ord Mantell. The pirates were ultimately all shot down.
Things took a turn for the worse when the "Witch of Endor" did not land at the Nova Orion Station but executed another jump. The crew - hired spacers, not the ship's regular crew - were shocked to discover that Captain Mourn had trapped them in order to maroon them and steal the cargo.
The crew was recovered by a diverted shuttle from the Nova Orion Station afterwards. An imperial investigation is on the way. Anyone with information concerning the "Witch of Endor" or Captain Kefic Mourn is asked to contact the investigating officer, Jolson Kell.
Rumors claim the "Witch of Endor" is a sort of Ghost Ship, as leaked footage of its interiour might indicate:

Last night the Imperial Navy launched an attack at a rebel supply station in the local sector. A task force was gathered in the Tatooine System for that mission, and scouting units were sent out to find the rebel base. While the recon team was away the gathered units engaged several rebel attackers who were trying without success to disrupt the build up by striking at the imperial base near Deep Sea.
Since the station was expected to be protected by heavy shielding only missiles were deemed effective and a special task force counting four Decimator-class patrol ships carrying heavy ordnance as well as suppoting bombers were gathered for the strike. The Imperial base meanwhile was defended by five gunboats, whose turrets spat rapid blaster fire at every attacker that came close.
When the rebel station was detected in the Karthakk system the assault task force jumped and began their attack run. Despite the rebel defense the base was soon obliterated. Even after this the outnumbered rebel force kept attacking the imperial base, inflicting some casualties among the defenders but not being able to destroy the base until the Alliance forces withdrew to Deep Space.

Attack on Outpost Kappa

Today the Outpost Kappa on Kashyyyk was attacked while Colonel Amodeus DuCar, the outpost's commander, was away leading a scouting operation on the other side of the planet.
The garrison took heavy casualties and one bunker was completely destroyed by what might have been a suicide bomb. It is not clear if that attack was launched by the same groupo that attacked the scouting team when it was being transported back to the Outpost on board of Barrenger Fynar's freighter.
The scouting mission was investigating a possible lead on the herb that caused the genetic mutation in kybucks found earlier in an illegal lab. The mission also discovered a camp of scientists probably linked to this which had been rasnsacked by unknown raiders.

"Exodus" almost destroyed by pirates while on relief mission

Last night the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell received notice that an Imperial Star Destroyer had been exiting hyperspace too close to an asteroid field and had suffered system damage as a result.
The Nova Orion Station disptached the "Exodus", a YT-1300 class light freighter captained by Wint Risden, to deliver spare parts to the havaried capital ship. Cyrinity Lee was hired as a recon pilot in her ARC-170 "Cloak and Dagger" to find a safe route to the Star Destroyer.
The "Cloak and Dagger" completed that mission, though when the "Exodus" launched the ship was found unable to move, the engines not responding and the reactor not working, and pirates attacked right in the vicinity of the Nova Orion Station. The freighter managed to get the engines working and took a detour to shake the pursuit off. The ARC-170 then led the YT-1300 to the Star Destroyer, skirting past another pirate group - to find the Star Destoyer surrounded by pirate craft.
The "Exodus" pressed on and managed to land on board the capital ship, though taking heavy damage in the process. Further damage was taken by both the "Exodus" and "Cloak and Dagger" during the unloading of the cargo and the flight back. Both ships are were transferred to the repair yard on the station upon their return.

Last night the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell received notice that an Imperial Star Destroyer had been exiting hyperspace too close to an asteroid field and had suffered system damage as a result.
The Nova Orion Station disptached the "Exodus", a YT-1300 class light freighter captained by Wint Risden, to deliver spare parts to the havaried capital ship. Cyrinity Lee was hired as a recon pilot in her ARC-170 "Cloak and Dagger" to find a safe route to the Star Destroyer.
The "Cloak and Dagger" completed that mission, though when the "Exodus" launched the ship was found unable to move, the engines not responding and the reactor not working, and pirates attacked right in the vicinity of the Nova Orion Station. The freighter managed to get the engines working and took a detour to shake the pursuit off. The ARC-170 then led the YT-1300 to the Star Destroyer, skirting past another pirate group - to find the Star Destoyer surrounded by pirate craft.
The "Exodus" pressed on and managed to land on board the capital ship, though taking heavy damage in the process. Further damage was taken by both the "Exodus" and "Cloak and Dagger" during the unloading of the cargo and the flight back. Both ships are were transferred to the repair yard on the station upon their return.

Gungan Weapon Thieves foiled

Today three officers of the Royal Security forces were able to subdue and arrest a gang of weapon thieving gungangs on the outskirts of Theed.
As a spokesperson of the RSF announced the gungans were part of a splitter group who was opposing the long-standing alliance between the different species on Naboo and had been stealing weapons from various depots lately, to either use in their struggle, or to sell to finance their group. The investigation is said to be still going on.

Operation "Pocket Garden" launched on Kashyyyk

Outpost Kappa, an Imperial trading outpost on Kashyyyk, has lately reported serious trouble with raids from a local pirate gang. Yesterday the outpost's commander, Colonel Amodeus DuCar, launched an operation to strike out at a suspected base for those raiders to relive some of the prssure on the Outpost. The operation, called "Operation Pocket Garden", was carried out by a mixed force of scouttroopers and deptutized civilians. A representative of the Outpost released this statement:
"Operation Pocket Garden succeeded without any military or civilians causalities. The recent raids cost the outpost several thousand credits in lost medical supplies as well as reinforcement shuttles on their way here. Command created a joint military and civilian task force to crush the pirates at their own stronghold. The task force discovered genetically-enhanced and artificially-bred Kybucks. Last night the local sector lit up again when the fleets of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic clashed once again in their struggle for space superiority.
The Rebel Alliance struck the first blow, shooting down an escorted imperial transport with a secret cargo, but suffered a setback shortly afterwards when due to technical troubles a transport of their own was lost in space.
Following that setback the Alliance ships failed to stop another imperial transport, and finally lost a crucial transport to an Imperial bloackde force despite their determinded escorts. Leaving a rear guard the bulk of their forces withdrew to rally in Deep Space.

Gwreng Masnachwr has led the company for years, dating back to the time it had taken up residence in Sandstorm City in south-western Tatooine. That he would retire from his position now has fueled several rumors, though the company's stock remained stable given that Amandiona has been involved in the company leadership for some time (and according to some sources, has been the de facto leader for months), so no drastic changes in the company policy and business model are expected.

The cargo was transported on the "Pride of Blasphemy", the well-armed and armored Incom X-4 class gunboat of veteran captain Inaera Kell. The ship was escorted by two Imperial fighters as well.
Despite this protection three unidentified ships, a YT-2400 and two Incom T-65 X-Wings, attacked in the Corellia System. All were destroyed though before the "Pride of Blasphemy" safely delivered her cargo to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.

Shuttle Crash near West Carova

Two days ago the Shuttle Besh 19, on a flight fromMos Vegas to Mos Eisley, crashed approximately 1500 m south of West Carova, killing the pilot on impact. The only passenger, a Sullustan named Gharett Rhall, survived though and managed to activated the emergency distress signal.
Two members of the Galactic Regulators lead by Sherrif Bas'ten were in the vicinity and responded, arriving just in time to prvent a horde of Tusken Raiders from killing the sullustan.
The raiders were driven off with massive blaster fire and suffered heavy losses while the wounded passenger was evacuated to the next clinic in West Carova.
