Imperial offensive failed?

Date: 040607
Planet: Dathomir, Dantooine and Yavin System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Sources usually well-connected to the Rebel Alliance announced that a major Imperial task force was defeated by rebel forces in the Dathomir and Dantooine systems, ending in a successful counter offensive by rebel forces in the Yavin system.

Imperial Fleet command did not comment on this, but stated that a rebel attack on Endor had been defeated. The spokesperson refused to give out details, citing security reasons, and stated that the situation in all mentioned systems remained "for the biggest part unchanged", and that there had never been any offensive, but just limited scouting missions to determine the threat the rebel forces in the systems presented. According to the communique, the threat level of the rebel forces has been successfully evaluated through those missions. Questions regarding the unusual amount of ships seen moving prior to those "scouting missions" were answered with "routine deployment".

In completely unrelated news, Commodore Haer, the flag officer in charge of the sector and the recent operation, retired for medical reasons, and was replaced by Rear Admiral B'ovan Mil. Retired Admiral Cret Ger, a veteran of the clone wars and notable space strategy expert, commented that he expected a change in Imperial strategy and tactics following this.
