Freighter crashlands near Mos Eisley

Residents of Mos Eisley’s northwestern area were woken up last night by a loud sound. Moisture farmer Greb Dubly was sitting on his balcony and witnessed the cause: A YT-2400 crashlanding on his field.

“Yeah, Ah was thar, on the balcony, relaxin’ with a bottle o’ mah own brand, ya know, and then thar was this sound – like the usual freighter landing, but louder, closer, ya know? Ah look up, and see one of them Corellian freighters fly over mah house, all wobbling, and then make a nosedive down mah field, wrecking mah harvesters. Lost mah bottle too, from the shock. Ah'm a gonna sue.”

The freighter, a YT-2400 model, was on a trip from Mos Espa to Mos Eisley and on final approach when it suddenly started to lose altitude rapidly, and then crashlanded on the open land outside Mos Eisley. The crew and passenger, all wounded, and taken to the Mos Eisley med center.

The circumstances of the crash are still being looked into – from first results, the ship was showing marks of blasterfire, and even tusken rifle bullets. From anonymous but usually well-informed sources we hear that this incident may be linked to several explosions that happened near Mos Espa earlier the same day, and reports of a tusken attack on a settlement.
