Trandoshan Slavers hit hard in the Kashyyyk System

The Blackscale Clan of trandoshan slavers, which has been suffering from a series of attacks in recent weeks, was the target of another series of attacks in the Kashyyyk system. Two days ago a supply convoy on the way to their slave processing center was destroyed by unknown raiders.

This was just the start though, the following night a large force of the clan's space ships including several gunboats was ambushed and destroyed in the station's vicinity by members of the wookiee resistance. Allegedly the commander of the force was a "Scalelord", but this rumor has not been confirmed by a representative of the clan.

What has been confirmed however is that shortly after the attack on the guarding forces a space station serving as a slave trading hub for the Blackscales came under attack and exploded a short time after communications were lost. Spectral analysis points to a reactor containment failure as the cause for the explosion.

Wookiee resistance forces are thought to be responsible for the attack though rumors claim that the clan had been conducting experiments with captured wookiees in order to defraud their customers - including the Galactic Empire - on the station so a third party's involvement cannot be ruled out at this point.

Patrols in the vicinity report an AEG-77 "Vigo" class gunboat leaving the station minutes prior to the explosion but since ships of that type were used to supply the station it's not sure whether those were attackers withdrawing or station staff fleeing.

Other clans of trandoshan traders were quoted with expecting the Blackscale Clan to be forced off Kashyyyk in the near future, though the clan has weathered worse in the past, so this is by no means certain.
