Last night two more freighters, both YT-2400 models, were sent by the Intergalactic Mining Company to transport ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell - Britney's pink "Sugar Rush" and See'la Tualin's "Kairn Tol". Ahl-Vinn and Ycoga Redspine were tasked as escorts to ensure the ore was delivered safely.
The convoy had barely entered the Corellia System when it came under attack by three pirate ships. The escorts attacked while the freighters boosted away to the dubious safety of a nearby asteroid field. A short pursuit by a bandit was ended when the gunners on the "Sugar Rush" shot it down, the two remaining raiders were tied down by captain Redspine, who shot down one ARC-170 while being engaged in a dogfight with an interceptor.
Captain Redspine's X-Wing was taking a beating, but he held out for minutes, tieing pirate up and preventing him from pursuing the freighters, almost crippling the interceptor in the process, until the freighters and their remaining escort had rallied and returned to render him assistance. The last pirate was dispatched in short order and the convoy reached the Ord Mantell system safely.
IMC shares rose 2% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.
