IMC Convoy saved in last second

Last night the Intergalactic Mining Company hired three freighters to ship aluminium from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. Britney's new "Sugar Rush" - an aptly named and painted YT-2400 - and See'la Tualin's YT-2400 "Kairn Tol" were joined by the "Serendipity", a Nova Courier-class luxury transport owned and captained by Ycoga. The ships were escorted by veteran pilot Ahl-Vinn.

Unlike other recent convoys the ships had no troubles in the Tatooine System and made good time until they reached the Corellia system, where two ARC-170 attacked them. Ahl-Vinn engaged the raiders, trying to buy time for the freighters to escape, but was forced to eject after a brief fight. Then the hunt for the freighters was on. In the following fight the freighters were disabled one by one at the cost of one of the raiders until the surviving pirate demanded the cargo dropped.

At that point however Britney' managed to emergency repair her ship, restoring power long enough for her gunner, Falcun Nix, to shoot down the waiting pirate. Following that the "Sugar Rush" assisted the crews of the "Karin Tol" and the "Serendipity" with jury-rigged repairs, which allowed all three freighters to safely reach the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. At the shipyards there further repairs were made.



IMC shares rose 1% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.
