Last night half a dozen new starfighters were attacked and destroyed in the Tatooine System. According to the owner of the ships, the Mos Eisley-based businesswoman Lady Valarian, the fighters were being ferried to the Kashyyyk system, where local merchants had purchased them in order to defend against pirate attacks.
The identitiy of the attackers is not known, but many suspect Jabba the Hutt to be behind the attack given his rivalry with Lady Valarian. Others claim the attack was part of a series of strikes against the assets of transdoshan slavers in the Kashyyyk system.
