HGS Trial - Day 7

Date: 130610
Planet: Talus
Region: Fort Keen

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The seventh session of the trial against the Holowood Galactic Studios saw another witness of the defense take the stand, Zergiest Ghostbane, a parto of the Farik & Celox show. As expected Ghostbane denied being a rebel operative, and in the following testimony laid out that he had served for 6 years in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps and 4 years under the Imperial Senate, reaching the rank of Sergeant Major. Numerous campaigns he took part in were listed as well, and his medals and decoraions were presented to the court.

Mr. Ghostbane then revealed that he had been tasked by the prosecutor to observe and report any suspicious contacts with the Rebellion within the studio, but that he did not observe any such activity.

Prosecutor Symane cross-examined the witness and questioned his impartiality while claiming that the man was now working for a group of Rebel sympathizers. Further questions by Celox were denied by the judge.

The next defense witness was Mrs. Karen Darkcrest, a former HGS employee who was also part of the Fuse. She firmly stated that she was not aware of any Rebel propaganda or messages in the shows performed by the Fuse, and that the Fuse was nothing more than a entertainment troupe. She also stated that her own father had been a senator during the New Order.

Questioned by prosecutor Symane she stated that she resigned from HGS of her own will, as their paths simply parted in different directions. Asked what her father would think about her association with aliens, she answered that he was deceased, and was excused from further questions by the judge.

The last witness was HGS head of security – Sakkra the Trandoshan. She too stated that she was a former imeprial operative, but that she now considered HGS to be her clan, and was not aware of any Rebel ties within the studio. She also claimed that in her opinion none of the main defendants were capable of any sort of melee, ranged or any other fighting techniques, lacking any combat training.

Prosecutor Symane objected, stating that without having established the fact of rSakkra’s military service she could not be asked for her professional opinion. The objection was sustained, and the defense was asked to provide proof of Sakkra's service in the Imperial military. Celox Scorpio could not provide such, stating that all former comrades of Sakkra were killed in action. Documentation proving her military service was neither asked for nor offered by any party.

The prosecution had no further questions to the witness and the court was adjourned.
