Food scandal? Authorities claim twi'lek skin condition caused by snack

Date: 070210
Planet: Naboo/Corellia
Region: Theed/Coronet

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Over the last few days, reports of twi'leks of both gender developping a pigment-changing skin condition have surfaced. In the words of one doctor treating a patient, the patient's skin color changed to "an eyeblindingly bright pink color" over the course of a few hours.

The cause of this was at first not known - several avenues were pursued, but yesterday the Theed Medical Center announced that the pigment change was caused by a new food additive used in the most recent "Spicy!!" variant of the popular snack food "Corellia Crackers". The food additive seems to cause no other harmful effects and the pigment change is estimated to last for a few weeks without further consumption of the additive.

The company producing "Corellia Crackers", Coronet Food Inc., stated that there was no proof of their product causing any of this, and speculated that this may be a ploy from some of their competitors. A spokesperson of the Theed Medical Center refuted those accusations.

While Coronet Food Inc. stock dropped 3% following the news the stock of several cosmetic manufacturers rose in response to the expected rise in demand for full-body twi'lek make-up. An alanyst from the Coronet Central Investment Bank speculated that this may help those manufacturers in gaining more male customers.
