The Ord Mantell System has been rife with pirate activity for years and remains dangerous even for experienced pilots - as the events three days ago show. Barrenger Fynar, veteran pilot, was on a mission for the Nova Orion shipyards when he was overwhelmed by several pirates in heavy fighters. According to the latest news his ship was destroyed and he barely managed to eject in time. He was later found floating in the midst of a debris field by an Imperial patrol.

Barrenger Fynar is expected to survive but may lose a limb due to the extensive injuries he sustained in the attack. He is currently treated at an undisclosed location.

Travellers to and from Ord Mantell are advised to stay on the patrolled space lanes, and take the neccessary precautions against pirate attack.

Convoy scattered and robbed

One week ago a cargo convoy carrying ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine to the Nova Orion Shipyards in Ord Mantell fell prey to pirate attacks in the Corellia system. The convoy was composed of the Y-8-class "Concord Dawn", captained by Therrid Rendar and crewed by Dee'lin, Zheezah, Grenadado and Ramona, Captain Benjam Frail's Decimator "Lucky Silver", with Falcun Nix and Batair Highlander acting as gunners, and the YT-2400-class ship "Blue Rogue" of captain Uuyr Naintul, with Brit and Ichi Senshi acting as gunners. Officer Ahl-Vinn served as escort in a TIE Fighter.

The convoy suffered from communication and navigation problems and the freighters and escort got separated early on. Several pirates - two ARC-170 and one Vaksai - attacked the light freighters in the Corellia System, and despite the escort and freighters putting up a spirited defense which claimed both ARC-170s, both freighters and the TIE Fighter were shot up and lost most of their cargo as a result.

Only the "Concord Dawn" encountered no pirates on her trip and safely reached the Nova Orion Station.

IMC's stock fell 1% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Clinic in Farpoint Valley shot up

Last night the med center in Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, was damaged by blaster shots and a fire, started according to the latest information by an individual trying to destroy a medical droid. The surgery room as well as the droid staff required some repairs after the attack was ended, but as far as is known no lives were lost.

The reasons for this attack remain unclear. Some rumors claim malpractise on the poart of the droid, others cite droid abuse taken to the extreme was behind the attack.

Life Day Dinner in Jiwarri's Diner

Yesterday Jiwarri threw her traditional Life Day Dinner Party, this time in her Diner in Farpoint Valley, Tatooine. The Diner itself was traditionally decorated in the style of Kashyyyk. Among the guests enjoying the great buffet were Amandiona , mayor of New Kestic, and Kimisei Bythmi, mayor of Farpoint Valley.

Before the dessert buffet - a delicious spread of sweets of all kinds - was opened the traditional firework display was launched outside, to the delight of the audience watching from the nearby starport.



Afterwards Jiwarri sang an old Song from her home planet while the guests enjoyed the dessert buffet. Finally a not-so-closely guarded secret was lifted when Jiwarri's brother Leafbacca and her manager Ylurra used the occasion to make their relationship public. So far no date has been set for a wedding - yet.

Imperial Navy stops rebels in Tatooine System

Last night the Imperial Navy launched a massive offensive to counter rebel efforts to take control of the Tatooine system while at the same time securing several other systems for the Galactic Empire.



Spearheaded by four capital ships and large numbers of fighters the task force achieved both goals with light losses. The numerically inferiour rebel forces were hampered by a lack of gunboats at the beginning of the battle for Tatooine space. Rumors also claim there was a mutiny among the crew of one gunboat.



After they lost their hold on the Tatooine system the Alliance ships were forced to turn to hit and run skirmishing tactics in order to try to disrupt the Imperial lines - without success. They further took heavy casualties when they were caught in a trap in the Tatooine system following in-system hyperjumps. The remaining rebel forces retreated to Deep Space.

Life Day truce on Talus?

Dearic on Talus is now fully in the grip of the Life Day festivities. A giant Life Day tree has been erected at the eastern edge of the city and smaller Life Day trees as well as presents dot the town's streets at every corner.



To the surprise of citizens and visitors alike the town, which has been the location many brutal battles between Imperial and Alliance forces in the past, hasn't seen large-scale battles in days. Rumors claim that a truce has been declared for the Life Day festivities, but neither side so far confirmed this.



It could be possible that this is just an informal truce, honored by local forces of both sides in the Galactic Civil War, but no matter the reason, it looks like the citizen of Dearic will be able to celebrate Life Day in peace, hearing the swingy melodies of Figrin Dan instead of the cracks of blaster fire and the screams of the casualties of war.

Imperial Troops conducting extensive drills on Tatooine

According to our sources the Imperial troops stationed on Tatooine started extensive exercises and drills last week. This included deploying ground troops by shuttles as well as support vehicles such as AT-STs at various locations. A reporter managed to capture one such deployment in Farpoint Valley:



The purpose of those exercises and drills - apart from keeping the troops at a high state of readiness - was not made public so far, but it has led to a reduction of the regular patrols in towns according to some citizens.

Kidnapping on Dantooine

Last week the usually quiet planet of Dantooine reported what seems to be a kidnapping. According to the scarce information a brutal firefight broke out in southern Dantooine near a pirate starport when a group of mercenaries attacked the bodyguards of a little girl. The bodyguards took several casualties and did not manage to save their charge, which was said to have been taken off-planet. Neither attacker nor the victim were identified so far, which fueled speculations about a criminal background of both sides.

Anyone with further information was asked to contact the planetary authorities.

IMC Convoy attacked by Imperial Deserters

Last week the Intergalactic Mining Company chartered two armed light freighters to transport ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine to the Nova Orion Shipyards in Ord Mantell. Veteran Captain Inaera Kell flew her YT-2400 "Outrider" with Barrenger Fynar and Batair Highlander as gunners. The YT-2400 class ship "TTC Tencilia" was crewed by Ramona, Falcun Nix and Alesc.

The two freighters entered the Corellia system and were quickly attacked by what seemed to be deserters from the Imperial Navy - a TIE Advanced and a TIE Oppressor. Despite taking serious damage and requiring emergency repairs the Outrider and the TTC-Tencilia shot both raiders down and continued their voyage to Ord Mantell.



At the Nova Orion Station Falcun Nix was treated in the med center for the burns he had suffered during the repairs while the staff of the shipyards started to repair the damage done to the freighters.

Massive but inconclusive battle in the Naboo System

Last night the Naboo system saw a massive battle between the naval forces of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Captial ships were deployed on both sides, as well as supporting patrol crafts and large numbers of snubfighters. The focus of the battle were three points roughly in the middle between Rori and Naboo. For more than one hour all three points were hotly contested and changed hands several times.

Despite the number of ships deployed and lost, the battle ended inconclusive, with neither side gaining control of the system. Rumors claim though that both sides are already preparing for a renewed offensive in the system at a later date.

Barrenger Fynar flew escort in his Vaksai "Krayt Dancer III" and Batair Highlander, Inaera Kell and Falcun Nix served as gunners on the "Galaxy Pearl".

In the Corellia system the two ships were attacked by a pirate Vigo, but shot the raider down in a short, brutal engagement.



The cargo was delivered to the Nova Orion Station, where Falcun Nix suffered a medical emergency. According to a source in the med center it involved blunt trauma and stims, but no details were given.

New Imperial Embassy in Farpoint Valley

Some rumors claim the frequent patrols in the past weeks may be related to this new development.

IMC Convoy reaches Ord Mantell after pirate attack

One week ago a convoy was chartered by the Intergalactic Mining Company to transport ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. Captain Ironhide flew his YT-2400 "Night Hawk" and captain Dee'lin Sarlos piloted her own YT-1300 "Phoenix". Barrenger Fynar and Ahl-Vinn acted as escort. Batair Highlander and Falcun Nix served as crew.

In the Corellia system two pirates, one ARC-170 and one Rhikxyrk, attacked, but both were shot down in a short engagement. Ahl-Vinn's TIE Fighter was disabled during the battle though and Falcun Nix had to conduct emergency repeairs in vacuum, during which a power surge fried his cybernetic arm.



After reapirs all ships continued to Ord Mantell, where the cargo was delivered to a representative of the Nova Orion Shipyards.

House blows up in Mos Carova

Two days ago an explosion took place in a small house located in central Mos Carova, destroying the building completely and revealing that there might have been a large storage area hidden under the foundation. Who is behind the explosion and if this is linked to the race about Garux Reitor's assets is unclear - Mos Carova has a history of bomb explosions of various kinds.

Bounty scammers at work?

According to some sources Crimson Ridge was the victim of a scam a few days ago. Apparently the city had placed a bounty on a trandoshan, which was claimed by a group of hunters when they brought in the mark. Only after the group had left with the credits already did the city officials find out that the trandoshan delivered to them was not the one they had put the bounty on.

From what is known the trandoshan is now suing the city while the hunters as well as the original mark are still at large. Whether this was an honest mistake or a scam is not yet sure, but circumstances point at it being the latter.

People wanting to place bounties are advised to be careful before releasing any payment. An insider in the bounty hunter guild also stated that there had been several incidents in the past where unscrupulous bounty hunters "clear" a bounty on a friend by faking the death and claiming it. The guild itself didn't comment on those claims, only stating that the bounty in question placed by Crimson Ridge had not been run through the guild's system.

Garux Reitor killed!

Yesterday the rodian Garux Reitor was brutally killed in Mos Carova. According to a number of accounts the rodian had a meeting with a human male in a bar in town, apparently an old acquaintance. An acquaintance that was holding a grudge, as it turned out, when the human used the opportunity given by someone else knocking Garux Reitor from behind to draw a blaster and aim it at the well-known arms dealer and information broker.

Witnesses claim that Mister Reitor remained calm in the face of imminent death, probably the result of having survived several other assassination attmepts in the past, one as late as last week. Showing no remorse but admitting gleefully to past crimes the rodian was shot after a last cigarra - the often over-used "execution-style" tag was a perfect fit in this case.

The killer managed to escape in the brief firefight following the murder. According to some sources other criminals were already racing to grab what they could of Mr. Reitor's assets before the dead rodian's body had even reached the med center and his brains were cleaned up from the cantina floor.

Another rumor claims that the Glaston Pirates had the med center under lockdown, but given how oftne the town suffers from violent incidents, that could very well be unrelated to this murder.

With Garux Reitor leaving stock that could be worth millions as well as potentially equally valuable information some residents fear that a new gang war may result of this murder as several syndicates struggle to get as big a piece as they manage of the estate.

Skirmishes in the Kashyyyk system

Despite several attempts and being reinforced by a previously unknown mercenary force the outnumbered imperials were unable to dislodge the rebel hold on the system, centered on the area around the Avatar Station.

Last week the Intergalactic Mining Company sent their weekly convoy with ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. The cargo was transported in captain Ironhide's YT-2400 "Night Hawk" and captain Dee'lin Sarlos' YT-1300 "Phoenix". Ilenia and Barrenger Fynar flew escort. Batair Highlander and Falcun Nix served as crew.

The convoy was attacked in the Corellia system by two pirates ain ARC-170s. During the fight one ARC was shot down but the other managed to crippled the "Iron hawk" and forced the crew to dump the cargo before they managed to shoot the fighter down. In the confusion of the recovery operation - Falcun Nix had suffered extensive injuries - the cargo was lost.



After reapirs all ships continued to Ord Mantell, where Captain Sarlo delivered the remaining cargo. More medical intervetion was needed on the staion, but no details are known. CorSec was said to investigate the incident according to some sources, but no official confirmation has been given yet.

Rustbucket Salvage & Repair burned down!

Last week the Rustbucket Salvage & Repair was shaken by multiple explosions and set aflame, crashing down in a blaze after a short time and leaving only twisted, glowing metal. The cause of the explosions is not known, but foul play is suspected - two men dressed as Sennex were killed by a posse in the area around the time of the explosions. It's unclear if anyone else was killed or hurt in the incident.

In an ironic twist salvage operations in the remains of the building were underway the following day, pioneered by jawa scavengers.

Pirates take revenge on convoy

Last week the "Night Hawk", Captain Ironhide's YT-2400 light freighter, once again made the trip from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell carrying ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company. The freighter was crewed by Inaera Kell, Ramona and Batair Highlander and escorted by Ahl-Vinn, Barrenger Fynar, Falcun Nix and Verene.

Shortly after leaving Tatooine's orbit the convoy got attacked by three pirate ships. Despite the surprise attack all three ships were shot down while one escort was lost.



The convoy reached Nova Orion without further incident, but after delivering the cargo the crew and pilots were attacked in the local cantina by a vengeful pirate with heavy weapons. Outgunned the spacers barely made their escape from the station - only to find themselves pursued by an advanced X-Wing. Only after a lengthy chase through several system was the raider finally shot down.

The "Night Hawk" returned to Farpoint Valley for repairs and the crew relaxed in the Rusty Bucket Saloon.

IMC's stock went up 1% at the Coronet Stock Exchange, after a volatile trading day.

Attack on Imperial ships in the Iridonia system

Accoridng to a number of reports last week the Imperial forces stationed in the Iridonia system were raided by an unknown but heavily armed group. While details are still classified, anonymous but usually well-informed sources claim no less than four Venator-class capital ships were hijacked and two Star Destroyers destroyed. The fate of the crew of the hijacked ships has not been determinded with certainity, but the worst is feared after a number of corpses were found - victims of explosive decompression as well as slower suffocation.

Last night the Corellia system saw extended fighting between an Imperial task force and ships of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The major battles took part between Talus and Corellia, with the Imperial forces operating from Talus Space Station. Both sides alternatedly had the advantage during combat, but in the end the Imperial forces sustained losses they could not replenish, and were forced to retreat.

Mysterious structure found in the ruins of Black Sands

Two weeks after Black Sands was destroyed in a bombardment, passing travelers reported a strange structure having been erected in what used to be the center of the city:



The owner of this structure as well as its purpose is unknown, but people taking a closer look reported an "eerie, ominous vibe", as if it amplified the desolation left by the destruction of the city.

IMC Convoy escapes pursuit

Last week Captain Ironhide flew his YT-2400 "Iron Hawk" again, transporting ore for the the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Ord Mantell. He was escorted by Stlian Nix, James and Ahl-Vinn, with Batair Highlander and Prov gunning on the freighter.

While the Tatooine system was cleared without incident the convoy came under attack by two pirates in the Corellia system. One pirate was shot down by Ahl-Vinn and The "Iron Hawk" managed to escape despite being pursued hotly by the surviving pirate, but two escorts were lost.

TTC opens shuttle service in Farpoint Valley

The Tatooine Trading Corporation announced yesterday in a press release that they opened a new shuttle service in Farpoint Valley, Tatooine. Small cloud cars will take passengers to larger ships waiting in orbit.

The first destination to be serviced with a regular passenger line is New Kestic on Lok, the headquarters of Future Weapons and Droids, a firm with a long history of excellent products. A second line is being planned, but nothing has been finalized according to the management of TTC.

TTC also stated that they will continue to offer charter freighters to all reasonable destinations, as well as hiring independent freighters for various tasks, such as the IMC Convoy.

Farpoint Valley's mayor and IMC manager Kimisei Bythmi stated he was very pleased by the announcement, and expected it to boost the town's economy. "TTC has been a reliable partner of IMC for years, and we trust this will deepen our relationship."

Imperial Fleet takes control of more systems in the sector

One day ago space lit up again with blaster fire and missile trails as the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire's fleets battled for supremacy in the sector with task forces on both sides trying to take and hold objectives.

Contrary to other engagements this operation saw less pitched battles than hit-and-run skirmishes. The alliance forces had the advantage early on, but were slowly driven back by two imperial task forces, each centered around a gunboat flagship. After about an hour of fighting the Imperial Fleet had pulled off a narrow victory.

A week ago the Intergalactic Mining Company sent another freighter through Corellia to Ord Mantell. Captain Benjam flew his "Lucky Silver", with Spring' and Batair Highlander acting as gunners, escorted by Falcun Nix and Barrenger Fynar.

As hoped the convoy didn't encounter many difficulties. One unidentified ARC_170 attacked near the hyperspace point "Corellia's Own", but was quickly shot down by the two escorts.

Only technical troubles delayed the convoy somewhat, but after some jury-rigging all ships reached Ord Mantell's Nova Orion Station safely.

Jiwarri's Diner opens in Farpoint Valley

Last week Jiwarri's Diner opened in Farpoint Valley. The wookiee chef has had a long career as caterer and was active as chef on cruises in the past, but hasn't had a diner before. Now, with her manager Ylurra taking care of the books and other administrative work, she can focus on cooking.



Located straight east of the town's shuttleport the diner is a cozy building, with family-friendly decorations, prominently among them Kashyyyk-styled miniature trees, and sturdy furniture. Upstairs an elegant dining room is available for parties who wish to dine in privacy. As entertainment a Galactic Tiles Arcade is offered, as well as sophisticated holographic and sound systems.



At the opening the diner was, inside and outside, decorated in the style of the Galactic Moon Festival, and some guests, among them the mayor of the town, were surprised if not to say scared by the holographic scares occasionally launched at them.



The main attraction though is Jiwarri's cooking, which was as great and tasty as expected, as a number of guests can attest to. Among them were Gwreng and his wife Amandiona, who had worked on the interiour decoration on the diner - according to Jiwarri she wouldn't have been able to open the diner without her - and several of their friends.



Gwreng and Leafbacca, Jiwarri's brother, together with veteran pilot Barrenger Fynar, spent almost more time at the arcade than eating though.



Also visiting were Ramona, Falcun Nix, Zinaida, Blissany and Ori'vod. The promise of genuine kashyyykian cusine attracted HarlieBear as well, a rather shy young wookiee girl, who nevertheless seemed to have enjoyed the outing.

IMC Convoy reaches Ord Mantell safely through Corellia System

The Intergalactic Mining Company sent the first of what they stated as "hopefully many" convoys through the Corellia System last week. Captain Falcun Nix' "Dae Nunt's Revenge" as well as Captain Ironhide's "Night Hawk" were carrying the ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. Barrenger Fynar flew escort in his new Vaksai Fighter, "Krayt Dancer III".

Near the Corellia Station the "Dae Nunt's Revenge" got attacked by a TIE Fighter - likely a deserter - and an ARC 170, but could land despite being under fire. Barrenger Fynar then egnaged both raiders, shooting both down in a short battle while the "Night Hawk" continued her course.



After a short CorSec inspection the convoy reached the Nova Orion station safely. According to some reports though during the stay on Corellia the missile bays of the "Dae Nunt's Revenge" were emptied.

Rebel Space Station destroyed

Last night the Imperial Fleet renewed their efforts to stem the recent rebel tide, and launched a counter-offensive against a rebel space station. A task force consisting of two Gunboats and about eight fighters was gathered in the Corellia System for this operation.

In a series of engagements the task force smashed its way clear to a rebel supply station, destroying it despite the spirited and tenacious defense efforts from the outnumbered rebel forces.

The Sector Fleet HQ in Outpost Kappa, Talus, released the following holorecordings of the operation:

Sniper terrorizes Mos Carova!

Mos Carova has been struck by terrorists already in the past - mostly bombings. A few days ago though a new threat appeared: An unknown sniper targeting the residents and visitors, apparently at random.

Though despite this seemingly erratic target choices the sniper shows both extensive resources - he uses an expensive Verpine Sniper Rifle - as well as planning. After he shot his first victims they were rushed to the nearest med center, which then was threatened with a bomb. When the wounded were evacuated to another med center they came again under fire.

Security and mercenaries have intensified their efforts to find the sniper, so far without success.

Black Sands destroyed!

According to the latest reports and orbital observation the city of Black Sands has been destroyed by a massive bombardment following extended fighting in the streets. So far unconfirmed reports state that the city came under attack by hordes of mercenaries in the employ of Jabba the Hutt when suddenly the city's battledroids went rogue. With the militia's survivors at that point already facing near-impossible odds the coup de grace came when the Imperial stormtroopers formerly laying siege to the city broke the earlier truce and attacked as well.

Casualty figures are not known though at least a handful of the remaining militia members are thought to have escaped during the fighting, and before the bombings started. Most of the civilian residents arebelieved to have been evacuated before the siege started, or during its initial phase.

IMC Convoy considering alternate route

After constant pirate attacks in the Naboo system the Intergalacitc Mining Company is considering changing the route of their freighters on the trip from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell.

So far convoys taking the Corellian route have fared far better than those on the Naboo route, as last week's convoy demonstrated, which encountered no troubles at all. According to the manager of IMC, Kimisei Bythmi, negotiations with a Corellian refueler are on the way, as are meetings with CorSec representatives.

Imperial Forces disrupt Rebel supply lines

Last night the Empire struck back after a string of defeats. First a convoy of three freighters with dearly needed supplies for the local garrison was safely escorted through the Tatooine system despite rebel attacks. Then an imperial task force hunted down rebel freighters in the same system, destroying the majority of them.

Time will tell whether this is a turning point in the war in space, or just a momentary setback for the rebel fleet.

Black Sands in a war on two fronts?

Two days ago Black Sands was still under siege by Imperial forces - though rumors of a temporary truce and negotiations were going around - when suddenly the town was attacked by a small army of mercenaries as well.

According to unconfirmed reports the Imperial stormtroopers withdrew to their positions while the town militia's remnants fought the attackers off. The attackers were thought to be in Jabba's employ, the Hutt likely to be still carrying a grudge against the town dating back to a gang war 2 years ago, including a blockade of the town by the Hutt's forces.



The future of the town remains in doubt despite some hopeful signs.

Black Sands under siege!

Black Sands is a town that has seen large-scale violence in the past - several times. From raids by thugs in Jabba's employ to droid and slaver attacks, the citizens of Black Sands have seen it all. Or that's what they thought.

For currently the town is under siege by imperial forces, surrounded and cut off. The situation of the people left in town is grave. Their ships have been shot down or destroyed on the ground and bombers have wrecked the space defenses. Snipers prey on anything that moves and stormtroopers are slowly forcing their way past the barricades that have been hastily errected by the defenders.



What brought this attack on is not sure, but according to rumors the imperial garrison was attacked and driven off by locals, then returned with reinforcements. Other rumors claim that the Remahr Company, the leading corporation of the town, is disintegrating, most of its leadership including Remahr himself supposedly has gone missing when the new Vigo-class freighter of the corporation was destroyed early on.

So far the defenders, augmented by combat droids, are holding up, but for how much longer is hard to say - with no relief in sight and no way out and losses rising the future for the people left in town looks grim indeed.

Another Imperial Star Destroyer lost in Deep Space

Another Imperial Star Destroyer was lost in action in Deep Space last night, according to a press bulletin released by the Sector Fleet HQ today. The "ISS Glorious" was on station in Deep Space when a large rebel force started attacking.

Despite a spirited defense put up by the escorting imperial ships and fighters - among them three gunboats - swarms of snubfighters and bombers spearheaded by gunboats got through the fighter screen and engaged the Star Destroyer at close range - too close and too numerous for the turbolasers to have much if any effect. The "ISS Glorious" shortly afterwards blew up under the massive barrage put forth by the rebel ships.

Galactic Moon Festival Costume Ball attacked!

Two days ago the Galactic Moon Festival Costume Ball was held in the superbly decorated CURVE in Crimson Ridge, Tatooine. A shuttle service ferried the arriving guests from the town's shuttleport to the club, where Mayor Ashana welcomed them while a bar - first staffed by a droid, then by Milyna herself, was tending to the thirsty among the guests.



A plethora of costumes were worn by the different guests, from soldiers to bunnies everything was represented.

The celebrations were put on hold though when first unknown attackers threatened the town - related to a stolen gungan artifact - and then a spider invasion took place. Both threats were dealt with, though not without cost, and the festivities resumed.



Faustino from the Shooting Stars, Ramona from the Neutron Pixies and newcomer Chesi Dan provided the entertainment. Their songs, music and dance show was well received by all accounts.



After the show the winners of the costume contests were announced:



The award for scariest costume went to Kasumini. The one for prettiest costume to Sehanine. Steven won the funniest costume award while the award for best overall went to Blissany' and Ori'vod, a couple in daring costumes.

For their actions during the earlier crisis both Zheezah and Sehanine were rewarded as well.

Convoy reaches Ord Mantell - ore stolen on station

Last week the Intergalactic Mining Corporation sent another convoy from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Ord Mantell's Nova Orion Station. The convoy was composed of the YT-1300 light freighter "Aluminum Falcon", crewed by Zakor and Oblin, and Ironhide's YT-2400 "Night Hawk" as well as Captain Uamawash in his YT-2400 "Uber House".

The convoy was attacked by a pirate flying a AEG-77 "Vigo"-class gunboat near the Trifecta Star hyperspace jump point in the Corellia System, but the raider was shot down after a longer engagement.



The convoy reached the Nova Orion Station safely, but during the transfer of the cargo unknown raiders, one of them wearing an ubese armor suit and wielding a carbine according to witnesses, attacked and a sizeable part of the ore weas stolen. Oblin was wounded during the attack and had to be evacced to the next safe medical facility.



Captain Ironhide' questioned some stations along the covnoy route and found out that they had been threatened in the Naboo system, possibly by members of the Black Sun. Ironhide hismelf was attacked at the occasion by a Krayt Guship named "The Ventress" - a ship seen at Nova Orion during the robbery. The ship was destroyed and investigations revealed that it was using IFF codes stolen from captain Barrenger Fynar, an experienced escort pilot for the convoy.

IMC shares rose 2% at the Coronet Stock Exchange.

Rebel Fleet pushing the Imperial Navy back

A week after the Rebel Alliance's latest offensive saw virtually no opposition from the Imperial navy, the Alliance forces pressed their advantage and took control of more key locations and systems in the sector.

This time they met resistance from an Imperial task force put together from the remains of several other units, but despite inflicting losses on the attackers the task force could not stop them from completing their objectives.

"Wandering Wraith" shoots down pirate vigo

Last week Captain Zheezah Kanu once again flew her vigo-class medium freighter, the "Wandering Wraith", for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation, transporting ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. Captain Barrenger Fynar flew escort in his Dunelizard medium fighter "Dancing Krayt".

The transport reached the Corellia System ithout incident, but then ran afoul of a pirate vigo-class raider near Talus Secta. The ship proved heavily shielded and armored, and engaged the "Wandering Wraith" at close range, almost ramming it once. The two ships traded volleys of blaster fire, both sustaining damage, with the "Dancing Krayt" hammering at the pirate, until the raider's reactor blew up, taking the ship with it. CorSec was alerted and is looking into the incident, but hasn't released any information so far.

Shooting and bomb threat in Mos Carova's cantina

A few days ago the cantina in Mos Carova was damaged in a firefight allegedly involving grenades as well. From what is known a woman shot at the droid bartender, causing a group of mercenaries inside the cantina to think they were being attacked and to return fire. The bartending droid got damaged, several jawas and one rodian were hurt, according to unconfirmed repors. Rumors claim there were bomb threats as well, though if those are related to the past bombings that shoock the town is so far unclear.

Talus Resource Rush damaging enviroment

Talus, a planet that recently became a focus of the Galactic Civil War when Dearic came under siege, currently sees another resource rush after a very high-yield geothermal energy source has been discovered. Prospectors and mining corporations of all kinds have been harvesting this new energy without any care for the enviroment that has not yet been ruined by the war, as this video of a formerly pristine field shows - now a veritable forest of machines:



Local residents said they hoped the resource would be drying up soon so all the prospectors would move and they could start on restoring their fields.

"Wandering Wraith" braves pirate threat

A week after the death of Grymnyr, the Intergalactic Mining Corporation sent another transport convoy with ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. Despite the disaster a week ago there were several ships present. Koorlin flew escort in the "Winged Womp", a rhyxkirk. Captain Ironhide flew the YT-2400 "Night Hawk" and captain Zheezah Kanu flew her medium freighter, the Vigo-class "Wandering Wraith", with Flar, Falcun Nix, Batair Highlander and Ramona serving as crew.

The transport got attacked in the Naboo System at the Royal Way hyperspace jump point, by an unidentified ARC-170, but the raider was shot down in a brief engagement. after a jump to Corellia the convoy arrived in the Ord Mantell system, where Koorlin's fighter developped power trouble and required assistance.

IMC shares rose 2% at the Coronet Stock Exchange.

An interview with Dark Lord Cain Vlock

Holonews: „Thank you for granting me an interview, mylord. It was very interesting to attend the meeting, though a few questions I have were not answered."
Cain Vlock: „I’ll do my best."
Holonews: „First, would you like to tell me something about the history of the brotherhood? Where, when and by whom was it founded?"
Cain Vlock: „The brotherhood of Sith originates from the Farstar sector. It was founded by Armada Skies, AkA rosignal Skies. Skies betrayed the order and laid waste to it. Few were left to pick up the pieces. No one willing. I took the responsibility even though I was only a knight at the time. We have been through several generations since the inception. This is generation 5. We moved from farstar, came here and have flourished. Of course, after the bumpy road of securing power for myself that is. We have several of the loyal ones with us now."
Holonews: „Oh? would you like to elaborate on this road a bit?"
Cain Vlock: „Of course being a Knight meant that the older, more experienced members weren’t going to just submit to the new leader. I created a separate order to remedy the problem. Wars of course were fought over the title "Sith Lord". In the end, my sith prevailed, and they submitted to my rule. Those who submitted serve with us now, here."
Holonews: „What are the goals of the brotherhood? It was alluded to rule the galaxy."
Cain Vlock: „Ruling the galaxy? Not neccessarily. Securing a place for ourselves is the goal. Our mission, and objective is to prove our worth and value to the galaxy, to remedy the false, and failed sith of the past."
Holonews: „How do you view the force? it seems a central tenet of your faith, so to speak."
Cain Vlock: „The Force is a weapon. More than a weapon. It is a means to secure our freedom, and our ways of life. The Jedi view the force in segments, Light, and Dark. Those who have been enlightened in the rule of the Sith understand the Force is a whole, not separate. Therefore, the Jedi are weak. We view the force in its entirety. The Jedi would have us killed simply for viewing the force as we do."
Holonews: „Which brings us to the jedi. Are they the enemies of you?"
Cain Vlock: „That depends. The Jedi are indeed a threat to our survival, and many of them are corrupted."
Holonews: „Do you have particular enemies among the jedi? A number lay claim to that name, but they seem scattered."
Cain Vlock: „We seek the chance to bring peace to the galaxy. The Jedi want us killed for nothing more than discovering our full potential. They would limit us from our power out of fear - yet it is fear they claim leads to the darkside. Corruption, hypocricy. Currently, we have laid waste to the Jedi Order. They are now broken and scattered, and of no further threat to us and our survival. We at one point were wary of the Order of Light, yet they have been seeminlgy ended from within their own ranks. Another example of why the Jedi Order is broken."
Holonews: „Any current threats?"
Cain Vlock: „No, all those we viewed as a threat have been removed. The only threat facing our people is the possibility of the Jedi uniting under a singular banner - much as the Sith have. But the Jedi refuse to work together, viewing one another as false and incorrect in their views. Therefore we have nothing to fear unless the Jedi unite."
Holonews: „And other than the jedi, there are no groups opposing you?"
Cain Vlock: „We have in all aspects, won our war. We simply gain further power in anticipation of the inevitable confrontations. The rebellion is always a threat to us. We have heard rumors of the rebellion keeping safe several Jedi of vast power. Therefore, the rebellion is our enemy. However we are not yet capable to fight that war. Soon, we will achieve victory over our enemies. But all in due time."
Holonews: „Speaking of the brotherhood, is it open for all species?"
Cain Vlock: „The answer to that question would harm our operation. We have non human species serving us."
Holonews: „What then is the criteria to become a member of the brotherhood?"
Cain Vlock: „The desire to realize your full potential. The chance to stand against the Jedi, and fight for the right to learn the force in all of its glory. If you are of no use, unable to fight and defend our ways, you will be denied, possibly exiled for your weakness. We do not have time to train everyone. therefore we only accept those with the most potential to succeed. The rest will be denied the glory of the brotherhood."
Holonews: „Force sensitives, that is, right?"
Cain Vlock: „That is correct. If you are weak, you will be left behind. We do however allow those without power to serve those who command it. But they will be nothing more than servants. Never able to achieve the greatness of the title of "Sith Lord". You saw many today. Those who are not strong, do not progress into the higher ranks. they sit idly in there seats of servitude."
Holonews: „There seem to be challenges and tests for rising in rank. How many and what ranks do you have, and what are those tests?"
Cain Vlock: „The trials to progress in rank are meant to prove your worth and your training. The trials are determined by those who hold power to test those without it. Failing the trials will result in remaining in your place of servitude with no chance to progress until you have completed the task assigned."
Holonews: „Are they often fatal?"
Cain Vlock: „Rarely do we waste our people. Everyone here has meaning and purpose - lest they wouldnt be here in the first place. On several occasions, we have simply exiled those who are unfit for the order."
Holonews: „What are the ranks?"
Cain Vlock: „The lowest rank of the brotherhood is the sith hopeful. It is a temporary rank, one which determines your value to us. Once you have completed the hopeful phase, you become an initiate and begin your training. Hopefuls become acolytes, then eventually opressors. Those who show potential to lead are selected for council seating as Sith Knights. Sith Knights may progress and earn the title Sith Lord, in time. No one is granted overnight "Sith Lord" status. It is earned, through hardship and strife. And it takes a very long time.
Those above Sith Lord are the ones who have proven themselves above average in their respective roles. Marauders are those who are simply machines bent on slaughter. Inquisitors are those who seek the more...political...route to defeating our enemies. Sentinels become teachers and mentors."
Holonews: „So, Inquisitors, Marauders, and Sentinels are above Sith Lords?"
Cain Vlock: „They are Sith Lords, with a prestige status. They are superior to the average Sith Lord. They serve on the high council."
Holonews: „And above them the overlord?"
Cain Vlock: „Above the prestige ranks is my personal council. These are the highlords and overlords. They share..."equal"...power with myself. The highlords overse the guild as a while. The overlords oversee the lower council. They are equals as a whole."
Holonews: „One hears, although those are rumors, that Sith kill to get promoted, and backstabbing is a way to get ahead. What do you say to this?"
Cain Vlock: „The weak deserve their fate."
Holonews: „What is your stance towards the empire?"
Cain Vlock: „We serve the empire as it suits our needs. The empire hunts the Jedi. The Jedi are enemies to us. Therefore we will serve the Empire as it suits our own agenda."
Holonews: „As a final question, is this settlement restricted to your brotherhood?"
Cain Vlock: „The city is a refuge for all those in the brotherhood. Those not within our brotherhood are not welcome to become citizens."
Holonews: „Mylord, I thank you for this interview."

The Rise of Sith - myth and reality

The Sith. An order of force sensitives long shrouded in mystery and rumors, said to be the counterpart to the jedi, followers of the so-called dark side of the force, driven by negative emotions and prone to infighting and violence. They are shrouded in secrecy, with nothing more than rumors linking them to various events.

So it came as a surprise when the Rise of Sith invited a reporter from Holonews to observe one of their meetings, and to write an article, to dispell the rumors. A surprise, but an opportunity any reporter worth her salary would have jumped at, yours truly being no exception.

A week after the invitation I was standing in front of a big building on Rori - the exact location will not be revealed to protect the brotherhood's privacy - located in a small settlement. A settlement like any other on this moon, with typical nabooian architecture dominating the area. There were no bodies hanging from gallows, no mists concealed dark altars, no muffled cries of helps were heard from hidden dungeons. A single droid guarded the building, but did not bar my entry.



Inside a spacious meeting hall greeted me. A few paintings on the walls, and a few decorations - prominently displaying a symbol of the Empire - provided some decor, but nothing to distract from the rows and rows of seats.



The seating arrangements also demonstrated the rank structures of the brotherhood - the higher ranked members had the front row seats, directly accross the council seats, with the lowest ranking members - hopefuls - seated in the back row.

The meeting went by like any meeting of an organisation - topic after topic was handled, from promotions for several members to apprentices getting reassigned to new masters. The only thing that would have felt out of place in an office meeting was how latecomers were slapped, and threatened with worse as punishment.



Those ominous hints of dark and violent practises seemed to be supported by the talk about duels as a test - or trial - for promotions. Were the rumors about sith students killing their masters in order to advance true?



As it turned out, they were not. The duels, some of them shown in the following recording, were not fatal, whoever failed was simply barred from advancing until he or she passed the test. As the leader of the brotherhood stated they frowned on killing members as a waste, preferring to have everyone serve according to their means. Even if such is not possible, exile, not death was mentioned as a consequence.



After this visit I am left with the conclusion that most of the rumors surrounding the Sith are wrong. Some may presume this was a set up, but this reporter didn't get the impression as if this was an act put up for her visit.

While the discpline shown is certainly very strict, and violence very present in teachings and testing, the brotherhood certainly didn't present itself as a gathering of madmen engaging in dark rites, killing each other at the drop of a hat. (Though one cannot shake the thought that some positions might become open after their previous holders die violently, or in mysterious cicumstance.) In a time of civil war, the brotherhood certainly is not the only organisation demanding skill at arms and strict discipline from its members - one only has too look to various mercenary groups such as the mandalorian ones for a similar outlook.

Their view of the force not as seperated into two sides, but to be studied as a whole, may be controversial in some circles but doesn't appear to be anymore wrong - to say the least - as a faith that teaches its adherents to suppress their emotions. One cannot help but wonder how many other "truths" taken for granted by so many may have been the result of rumors instead of experience. I hope this report helps to lay rest some of the fears that result from such rumors.

Skirmish in Deep Space

The offensive in Deep Space continues, with the rebels pushing the Imperial forces hard despite the latters temporary reinforcements. Last night extensive skirmishing took place in the sector when a rebel gunboat - according to rumors part of the 13th Roving Line - supported by various fighters engaged the imperial forces, attemtping to take control of the system. The following video was dropped at our office by an anonymous source and shows part of the fighting:

Grymnyr dies defending freighter

Four days ago the weekly ore transport from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell was attacked again by pirates. The Intergalactic Mining Corporation had chartered the "TTC-Tencilia" and hired three escorts - Echoes' in his Vaksai, Barrenger Fynar in his Dunelizard "Krayt Dancer" and the V-Wing pilot Grymnyr.



Despite the three escorting fighters the transport got attacked near the hyperspace jump point "Desert Sands", by a Scyk, a V-Wing and an Interceptor. The fight took several minutes, but ultimately the three courageous escorts were shot down. Tragedy struck there: Grymnyr was unable to eject in time and died with his ship.

The freighter was forced to drop the cargo, but managed to repair the blown reactor later, after a TIE patrol had arrived to help.

IMC management commented on the tragic loss of Grymnyr, stating that he had bravely defended the freighter, sacrifcing hismelf for the rest of the pilots and crew, and that their thoughts were with his family.

IMC shares fell 3% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Murder in the Fallen Star

Last night several people were shot to death with blaster in the basement of the Fallen Star. The identitiy of the victims has not been determinded yet, but a possible suspect was spotted leaving the casino shortly after the murders took place, but before they were detected.

The individual was wearing an ubese armor helmet and a mismatched suit of armor which concealed his gender and spcies, but he was of average height for a humanoid. He may be linked to similar crimes committed a week ago in the Farpoint Valley region.

Gang War in Mos Entha over?

According to so far unconfirmed reports the gang war in Mos Entha may be over. Witnesses report that the gang controlling the southern part of the city managed to scatter their competition in a series of attacks, some involving powerful combat droids. The remnants of the losing gang are said to have joined a mercenary group, which has not yet been identified.

Whether this new group may get involved in Mos Entha's underworld, possibly leading to another gang war, is not yet known.

Rebel fleet starts offensive

Two days ago the Rebel fleet launched a massive offensive in Deep Space. Large numbers of fighters - mainly A-Wings, X-Wings and Y-Wings - took the scattered Imperial forces in the sector by surprise and decimated them in a brutal battle. The rallying imperial fighters were supported by gunboats but outnumbered to a considerable degree and so took heavy losses while unsuccessfully trying to push the attackers back. Only after the bulk of the rebel forces was shifted to another theatre did the remaining imperial ships manage to stabilize the frontline.

Assault in the Fallen Star

Three days ago a violent incident took place in the Fallen Star cantina in Mos Entha that illustrates the surging gang violence in the crime-riddled city in perfect if brutal detail.

A lethan male twi'lek was attacked in the backroom of the cantina by an animal, on orders of its owner and then left bleeding on the floor, crying for help. When a patron tried to help though he was threatened, and had to back off. Another patron, a female twi'lek, threatened to shoot the wounded man before the police arrived.

The local police agents however left the twi'lek bleeding on the floor as well, after taking a few statements, and continued their patrol. When the cries for help of the wounded twi'lek grew too noisy for some of the more callous patrons another appalling display took place: The crying and at that point cursing twi'lek was dragged outside and thrown down the ramp by the entrance, coming to a rest in the dusty street, where his trace disappears.

Apparently the attack was related to a conflict between two local gangs, but details are unknown. The police is said to be looking for a local doctor though, to question him.

Assassin caught in Mos Entha

Today a dangerous assassin wanted for murder on Naboo was arrested in Mos Entha, Tatooine, after an attempted robbery in town. He was identified as Vlu Dagoth, with suspected ties to Black Sun.

He was caught by a civilian named "Ray", and handed over to the local police, who transferred him to the RSF. According to the latest news however he escaped soon afterwards. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Series of robberies around and in Farpoint Valley

A series of robberies took place in Farpoint Valley and its surrounding areas yesterday. Both camps and travelers were struck, with several victims shot to death by a blaster, according to the traces found.

Among the victims that survived was the town's mayor, Kimisei Bythmi, who was robbed at blasterpoint on his way back from a harvester inspection, and forced to hand over his purse. Fortunately he was not hurt during the robbery. According to his testimony the assailant wore ubese armor, and carried a blaster carbine.

The town has put out a bounty of 25'000 nuyen on the culprit - alive, no disintegrations.

"Dancin' Drunk" makes the trip to Ord Mantell

Three days ago the Intergalactic Mining Corporation chartered another ship to transport ore from Tatooine to Ord Mantell. The YT-2400 "Dancin' Drunk" of captain Malcom Olrads was escorted by veteran pilot Barrenger Fynar in his Dunelizard medium fighter "Krayt Dancer". Top gunner was the first mate Grodev.

The transport was attacked by an X-Wing and an ARC-170 near Penumbra Omen in the Naboo System, but both suspected pirates were shot down with the two defending ships taking only armor damage, or no damage at all. The cargo was subsequently delivered safely to Ord Mantell.

Despite rumors to the contrary no complaint was failed against the "Dancin' Drunk" for violating the safe flight guidelines during the trip.

IMC shares rose 2% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Imperial Navy loses prisoner transport

Last night an imperial prisoner transport - the vigo-class "Purge II" - was taken over by the prisoners transported following what appears to be a mutiny. A task force was scrambled to secure the transport, but it met with heavy resistance by rebel forces coming to the transport's rescue, and was repulsed after a lengthy battle, with the transport escaping to rebel-held regions.

"Naglfar" reaches Ord Mantell despite massive pirate attacks

Six days ago Saiphac Grieve, captain of the incom-built medium freighter "Naglfar", was hired to transport ore for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation from Tatooine to Ord Mantell. Falcun Nix, Jas and Ramona cted as gunners, Benjam, Kentt', Barrenger Fynar and Sera'fina Blake flew as escorts.



The transport came under attack in the Tatooine system, and the following battle took a terrible toll on the escorts, most were disabled or outright shot down. The transport was attacked as well, but managed to jump out. Despite the narrow escape it was relentlessly attacked by various pirate ships in the Naboo system, and even in Ord Mantell. The "Naglfar" took heavy armor damage and lost a few systems, but the cargo was ultimately delivered safely.



IMC shares rose 2% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Skirmish in Deep Space sees small Imperial victory

Last night the Imperial Fleet and the fleet of the Alliance to restore the Republic clashed in Deep Space for over an hour in a skirmish that quickly turned into a war of atrition during which both sides alternated in having the upper hand, until the Empire's forces managed to take the center of the sector and secure a marginal victory.

Altercation at the Misty River Cantina

Yet another altercation happened at the Misty River Cantina located in the city of Ometra, Rori. It seems their weekly game nights, hosted by cantina owner Kai'lek Evocatus, continue to attract the attention of those who would cause trouble.

Reports indicate that two individuals attempted to attack an extremely short unknown sentient. Troopers from the garrison, placed on alert due to past conflicts at the cantina on its highly publicized game night, confronted the man, and a fight ensued. In the end, the attackers fled the scene without their mark, though not without leaving their mark.

An anonymous source has cited that Master Sergeant Patryn Starfire, the Senior Sergeant of Operational Detachment Aurek 613 had taken severe injuries to the back from blaster fire and multiple injuries as a result of acid burns prior to being carried to the medical center by an unknown individual that appeared to be wearing armor favored by mercenaries. His status at this time is unknown.

IMC Convoy reaches Nova Orion Station with minimal trouble

Earlier this week the Intergalactic Mining Corporation sent another cargo of ore from Tatooine to Ord Mantell. Th cargo was carried in the YT-1300 "Hot Tub"; piloted by Ramona, with Onole' and Falcun Nix acting as gunners, and escorted by Barrenger Fynar in the Dunelizard "Krayt Dancer" and Benjam in "Red Fox", an RGI.

The ships came under attacked by an unidentified Ixiyen assault craft, classified as a pirate attack by RSF later, after entering the Naboo System at the hyperpsace jump point "Sea of Veruna".



The Ixiyen was shot down, as was another a bit later near Penumbra Omen, though the Krayt Dancer needed repairs after the fight and had to be towed to the Naboo orbital station by the "Hot "Tub". Afterwards the the ships continued to Ord Mantell without further trouble.

Imperial Navy takes out rebel supply station

Earlier tonight the Imperial Navy sent a task force to Deep Space to destroy a recently discovered supply station of the Alliance to restore the Republic. The task force ran into strong rebel forces and had to both clear a path to the rebel station for the assault as well as to protect the Imperial Star Destroyer serving as flagship for the operation from the rebel counter-attack.



Despite a costly delay at the start and determinded rebel defenders the Imperial forces were ultimately successful, destroying the station while only suffering light damage to their flagship, though at the cost of several fighters and smaller ships.

Keren taken by Imperial troops and held for the first time in months

For months the city of Keren was under control of the Rebel Alliance, withstanding assault after assault by the Imperial forces. Even when an assault by stormtroopers was successful the imperial forces were soon pushed from the city and rebel control restored.

Today however marks the first time Imperial troops have taken the city and held it against a rebel counter attack, extending the control of the Empire over one of Naboo's biggest cities in bloody close-quarter combat. The focus of the fighting was around one of Keren's canals, where rebel war machines pushed through imperial fortifications and wave after wave of attackers clashed with defenders in at times melee combat. Ultimately though and despite taking heavy losses the imeprial troopers prevailed.

Bomb Incident in the Lucky Despot

Last night the visitors at the Lucky Despot casino in Mos Eisley were shaken when a dispute literally exploded into violence. While details are not fully known, an as of yet unidentified zabrak male allegedly ended up in a dispute with several of the patrons and entertainers, and was stunned after drawing a blaster.



When he came to, back in his seat, he threatened the people present with a detonator in his hand, causing a trooper present on the scene to call for reinforcements to handle the situation. When negotiations stalled the zabrak was charged and subdued before he could use the detonator.



However at this point a man later referred to as "Frogoo" threw another grenade at the troopers, severly wounding one soldier and one bystander before getting subdued himself. The reasons for this action are not known, but he was wounded and had earlier already refused treatment by a combat medic present on the scene - ironically, one of the people wounded by the explosion. Who exactly had wounded him - tortured according to some of his claims earlier - is not clear either.

After "Frogoo" was subdued as well and the civilian casualties evacuated the two suspects were taken to the detainment facility in Bestine. All wounded, among them MSG Patryn Starfire of Operational Detachment Aurek 613, are expected to make a full recovery.

IMC convoy struck hard by pirates

Five days ago the weekly cargo convoy transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation from Tatooine to Ord Mantell was attacked by pirates again. The two freighters, the TTC-Tencilia, a chartered YT-2400 with upgraded guns, piloted by Ramona, with Flar acting as gunner, and Captain Benjam Frail's "Lucky Silver", a converted Decimator-class ship with with Falcun Nix and Myrorra serving as gunners, were escorted by Barrenger Fynar, Neo-Gothic and Ahl-Vinn.

The convoy was attacked in the Tatooine system shortly before making the jump to the Naboo system, and two of the escorts were shot down there already, covering the freighters' escape. The two freighters and the remaining escort, Barrenger Fynar, were not yet safe though - pirates struck in the Naboo system too , managing to disable the "Lucky Silver", which had already suffered damages, and Barrenger's fighter, before chasing the "TTC-Tencilia" until the freighter managed to escape into hyperspace after shooting down a pursuing Y-Wing.



Barrenger Fynar meanwhile assisted Captain Frail, who was drifting and whose crew member Falcun Nix had suffered serious wounds, with his Y-8 class "Celestia Belle", picking up the wounded for treatment in the ship's medical bay, but was attacked in the process as well and barely got away with an emergency jump.

Imperial Fleet secures key positions in three systems

Two days ago the Fleet of the Alliance to restore the Republic launched a large-scale campaign to raid several supply lines of the Imperial Fleet by attacking key locations in the Corellia, Karthakk and Dantooine systems.

The Imperial Fleet at once dispatched forces to secure those systems. Seven gunboats, one Decimator patrol ship and over 20 fighters struck at the rebels. The Karthakk and Dantooine systems were easily secured and then held, but the Corellia system saw a pitched battle against locally superiour rebel forces who controlled it and the attacking force suffered serious losses until more reinforcements could be shifted in and the rebels driven off.



With the Corellia system secured as well the main battle was over although mopping up operations continued in Deep Space.

Pirates defeated in the Naboo system

A week ago the Intergalactic Mining Corporation sent another freighter carrying ore - Iron this time - from Tatooine to Ord Mantell. The TTC-Tencilia, a chartered YT-2400 with upgraded guns, was piloted by Falcun Nix, with Oblin and Anyskerr acting as gunners, and escorted by Barrenger Fynar and an Imperial Pilot, Ahl-Vinn.

An X-Wing and an ARC-170 attacked in the Naboo system but were both shot down, with Barrengers's ship taking some damage, but the cargo was delivered safely to the Nova Orion Shipyard.

Imperial Navy barely holds the line

Last night the Imperial Navy and the Fleet of the Alliance to restore the Republic clashed in three systems, struggling for key installations in the Yavin, Endor and Dathomir system.

The battle began with a bloody surprise when both fleet jumped to the same hyperspace jumpoint in the Dathomir system, and a brutal close combat ensued, with most ships fighting for themselves and attacking any targets of opportunity.



This engagement was won - if barely and with serious casualties - by the Imperial Task force, which then spread out to cover strategic points in the aforementioned systems, all three which soon came under attack, or were already in control of the recovering rebel fleet.



While the Yavin system was shortly afterwards abandonned, the Endor system remained hotly contested, with each side shifting more and more forces, both captial ships as well as fighter units, there. In the end the Imperial Navy was able to hold the rebel forces at bay, though by the skin of their teeth.

Technical and Pirate Trouble

The weekly cargo convoy tranporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation from Tatooine to Ord mantell suffered another technical mishap six days ago. Alila Tisoni launched her YT-2400 "Corellia Star", only to discover the ship's hyperdrive was malfunctioning, forcing her to land again. This was quite a setback - the ship had already suffered a malfunction two weeks ago, and had been undergone a thorough check-up at the CEC yards following this.

As it turned out the hyperdrive troubles were too serious to be solved quickly enough to still make the convoy, leaving the "Shiny", a light freighter captained by Waefi Stromchaser and crewed by Glug and Ruff-Ruff, to carry the ore, escotred by two Bellubab-22s, piloted by Giina and Barrenger Fynar, one heavy X-Wing flown by Falcun Nix and a Scyk flown by Ramona.

The convoy was attacked by two pirates in the Naboo system. Barrenger's fighter was heavily damaged and Falcun Nix went missing after his X-Wing was all but vaporized, but the "Shiny" managed to shoot down the remaining pirate and deliver the cargo to the Nova Orion Shipyards in Ord Mantell.

Fleet battle results in draw

Last night the Imperial Navy sent another task force out to search and destroy rebel capital ships. Starting in the Dathomir system the task force soon left for the Endor System after reports of rebel capital ships being sighted there had come in.



This turned into a chase though, and the task force soon found itself back in the Dathomir system, where it finally caught up to a rebel command ship. While an all-out attack was launched and ultimately succeeded in destroying the gunboat, the rebel forces had launched a counter attack, destroying the imperial command ship just as the rebel capital ship was getting crippled.



Afterwards several rebel interictor type crafts were hunted down and destroyed, but no further capital ship kills - or losses - occurred on either side.

Freighter miscalculates jump - sabotage?

After last week's mysterous encounter with an unidentified corvette, this week's ore transport from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Shipyards in Ord Mantell saw another strange event disrupt it.

Alila Tisoni flew her "Corellian Star", with Anyskerr and Ramona as crew, escorted by Barrenger Fynar in his Dunelizard. The transport was attacked by an ARC-170 in the Naboo system, near Penumbra Omen, but handled that easily. Later though a problem appeared: The "Corellian Star" jumped to the Corellia system by mistake.



A check of the navigational systems revealed that a new nav point had been added to the flight plan. While it's not yet clear how this happened some clues point to a coded transmission from Rori as a possible source - or cause.

CEC and CorSec are investigating the incident, but so far have not revelaed any results.

Attack on garrison in Black Sands

Last night a group of armed people attacked the garrison in Black Sands. The stormtroopers present proved to be too tough for the assault though and all attackers were killed in the fight that ensued. As far as is known no civilians were harmed during this incident. Casualties among the stormtroopers were not revealed to the press.

Neither the identity nor the goal of the attackers has been found out so far - or if it has it has not been made public. Rumors claim they wanted to spring an equally unidentified prisoner, and that they were mercenaries, but neither rumor has been substantiated so far. Usually mercenaries do not fight to the death if retreat is possible, and there's been no notice of any important prisoner held in the town.

Task Force Mauler mauls rebel fleet

Last night the Imperial Navy sent a massive fleet - Task Force Mauler, built around 4 YE-4 gunboats and one "Vigo"-class flagship and supported by over 20 starfighters - to the Dantooine system to hunt down rebel capital ships. With the defenders outnumbered and the imperial forces concentrated the Empire's task force soon had the upper hand.



For over one hour the task force hunted down rebel ships, killing several rebel gunboats and fighters, until the remaining rebel forces withdrew to Deep Space. The tak force gave chase however and continued to search and destroy rebel capital ships in Deep Space for another hour. While several starfighters were lost only one Imperial gunboat was shot down during the whole operation.

Crimson Ridge's shuttleport open again

Crimson Ridge's rebuilding efforts saw fruits faster than expected, with the shuttleport being reopened today, and regular shuttle services having resumed. New mayor Ashana Naberrie stated that she could not express her gratitude enough towards all the people who lent their support to the rebuilding efforts.

In addition to restoring the shuttleport donations from friends from Naboo have helped the current government establish a central park along the city thoroughfare. Citizens who left the town during the latest events are seen returning, and temporarily closed shops are reopening in light of the city's restoration.
