Shipwreck found on Dathomir

Date: 290611
Planet: Dathomir
Region: Eastern Dathomir

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Yesterday search parties found a shipwreck on Dathomir. The wreck had been plundered by what appears to be pirates, and native wildlife had already mauled the bodies of the crew left there, so it's not sure if any survivors were shot by the scavengers, or dead on impact. Several scavengers were also found dead, which implies a second group, or internal conflict, or attacks by natives. Since no traces of escape pods were found the search for survivors continues, but people with experience on Dathomir fear the worst, given the natives' infamous hostility towards outsiders.

The authorities did not reveal whether or not the wreck was the freighter that went missing last week.

Aak hunted and rescued by same mercenaries

Date: 280611
Planet: Lok
Region: Southern Lok

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Aak the Toydarian slaver seems to have a knack of making people mad at him - even and especially people with deep pockets and long reach. This is illustrated by the bounty Garubba the Hutt put out on the toydarian recently. Apparently the incentive was so big that two groups of bounty hunters fought each other in Red Sands to capture Aak a day ago, or so the rumor goes, with the winning side then capturing Aak and delivering him to the Hutt's palace.

The wily toydarian also has a knack for getting out of trouble though - which the follow-up illustrates. If rumors are to believed the same mercenaries that captured and delivered him in the first place then went around and let themselves be hired by Aak's friends in Red Sands to spring him from his new cell. According to the latest news they were as successful in this operation as they were in capturing, and the toydarian is now free, if currently in a med center getting treated for his injuries. Whether his injuries were the result of his capture, Garubba's hospitality, or caused during the rescue operation is not known at this point.

Garubba the Hutt though was said to proclaim that Aak will never be safe on Lok again.

Pirate "Vigo" attacks convoy

Date: 280611
Planet: Tatooine/Corellia System/Ord Mantell System
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night the Intergalactic Mining Company sent a convoy of three freighters with ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell System. Due to last week's losses among the escorting fighters no escorts were sent in the hope of the freighters' guns being able to protect them against possible pirate attacks. The convoy consisted of Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300 "Spinning Cloud", Captain Britney's YT-2400 "Sugar Rush" and Captain Auros Drayen's YT-2400 "Midnight Runner".

Departure from Tatooine's orbit was delayed due to technical troubles on board the orbital station, but otherwise went off without trouble. When the convoy reached the Corellia System though it came under attack by a pirate AEG-77 "Vigo" class ship as well as a "Dunelizard" heavy fighter.

In the following fight all three freighters were extensively damaged, some even lost power or thrust temporarily until jury-rigged repairs could be effected. In exchange the dunelizard was destroyed by the rear gunners of the "Spinning Cloud" while chasing the freighter. The Vigo came under withering fire from all three freighters and several torpedoes hit the pirate ship, reducing its front armor to slag but not managing to knock out its systems.

Despite itself suffering from heavy armor and some system damage the "Spinning Cloud" then kept the raider engaged with several attack runs, exchanging fire and slowly drawing it away from the other two freighters in order to allow them to jump out safely. That accomplished the YT-1300 managed to jump to lightspeed right when the "Vigo" was closing the range for another attack, leaving the pirate's guns to hit empty space.

All three freighters underwent repairs at the Nova Orion Shipyards later, but the cargo was delivered safely.

IMC shares rose 0.5 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news, after a temporary loss of 2%.

Massive Naval Battle in Deep Space

Date: 260611
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night Deep Space was the location of a brutal and extended clash of the naval forces of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Both task forces were supported by gunboats and sported large numbers of fighters and bombers which struggled for space superiority for hours. While at the start the rebel ships had the upper hand the imperial forces gradually pushed them back over the course of the battle, putting them on the defensive on occasion as atrition among fighters and gunboat crews set in.

The following records were taken during the early part of the battle and released for public distribution by the sector fleet headquarters:

Droid attack near Jawa trade meet

Date: 250611
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Western Tatooine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night merchants dealing with the jawas at their trade meet west of Fort Oasis reported seeing flashes of blaster shots in the distance, in the direction of where Black Sands was located before the city was destroyed. When a curious traveler ventured there he found the remains of half a dozen Droidekas, Clone Wars era battledroids, which judging by the traces had just recently been destroyed.

Since the weapons used looked to be mostly blasters, not slug-throwers, marauding Tusken have been ruled out as being responsible for the attack. The jawas operating nearby claimed to have not seen anyone but customers that wanted to buy droids, and denied selling battle droids when questioned.

Pod Race held on Tatooine?

Date: 240611
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Eastern Tatooine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Tatooine has a long tradition of pod racing, with the Boonta Eve Classic held outside Mos Espa once being famous all throughout the galaxy. It comes as no surprise given the general attitude towards the law on that desert planet that the outlawing of the sport did not succeed in destroying it, even if it drove the races underground. For some, that just enhanced the appeal.

According to anonymous sources last night one of such illegal underground races was held on Tatooine, pitting pod racers from all over the sector against each other - and against the dangers of the desert and a challenging track. From what is known only one racer escaped the attacks from Tusken Raiders - who have a tradition of their own of shooting at racers - and what appeared to be armed wookiees unscathed, but at least half a dozen daring pod racers survived the gauntlet and reached the finishing line.

Given the clandestine nature of the race no information is available about prize money or betting pools, but one can safely assume both the winning racer and the lucky gamblers earned a lot of money.

Kidnapping in Garubba the Hutt's Palace

Date: 240611
Planet: Lok
Region: Southern Lok

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night's reception in the palace of Garubba Desilijic Kiar on Lok took a turn to the violent, or so rumors claim. Apparently one visitor was gunned down right in the middle of his talk with the Hutt and dragged to the cells in the basement by the Hutt's guards. Whether he said something wrong and angered the Hutt or there was another reason for this is not clear.

His fate is unknown at this point, but some screaming was said to be faintly audible in the palace's main hall shortly after his disappearance. A woman was reported to have been poisoned as well, stumbling around until driven to a med center for treatment, but it's not clear if this was related to the earlier incident.

Arklem Qeq executed

Date: 230611
Planet: Lok
Region: Red Sands

Story: (Story written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

According to as of yet not officially confirmed but usually reliable reports infamous pirate leader Arklem Qeq was executed last night in the aftermath of a raid on Red Sands, Lok. So far it's unclear if this means the end of his pirate gang as well, or if one of his surviving men is taking up the reins.

The exact circumstances of the criminal's demise are still being sorted out. Rumors claim that some of Qeq's enemies were recently seen visiting the Palace of Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine while Qeq was said to have been a favored guest of Garubba the Hutt on Lok a week ago, but whether or not this played a part in Qeq's end is impossible to say at this point with the information available.

Qeq has spread his fame wide, having been involved in raids as far as Tatooine and the Ord Mantell system, and being wanted in several systems for piracy and other crimes. He has been evading the law and bounty hunters and even the Galactic Empire for months with skill and luck, until his remarkable career ended last night.

Freighter missing over Dathomir

Date: 230611
Planet: Dathomir System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night a light freighter went missing while entering the atmosphere of Dathomir. The YT-1300 class ship was on the way to resupply the science outpost on the planet and had been escorted by an Imperial patrol until it reached the planet's orbit. During atmospheric entry contact to the freighter was lost and it disappeared from the scanners.

A search was organized and launched, but no trace of the freighter has been found so far. Knowing the planet's hostile natives and wildlife local authorities fear the worst.

Suspicious ambush in the Corellia system

Date: 220611
Planet: Corellia System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night a freighter being escorted through the Corellia System was attacked several times by unidentified raiders including one capital ship. While such attacks are sadly not uncommon CorSec officials investigating the attacks commented that the tactics used were different from regular pirate attacks.

As a pirate expert stated usually the escorting ships of a freighter are taken down first but the freighter is almost always quickly disabled if the opportunity presents itself. In this case the attackers focused on the escort to the exclusion of everything else, not even firing on the freighter when it was in range of the capital ship and the escort was not. To quote an officer on the case: "It looks as if the target was the escort, not the freighter."

Neither the captain of the freighter nor the captain of the escorting AEG-77 class ship were available for comments.

Attack above Tatooine

Date: 220611
Planet: Tatooine/Corellia System/Ord Mantell System
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Two days ago the weekly IMC convoy transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell System, was attacked by pirates in the Tatooine system. The convoy consisted of the YT-49 class "Lucky Silver" of Captain Benjam, Captain Britney's YT-2400 "Sugar Rush" and the YT-2400 "Teri Ynes" of Captain Bulthos Dorrir. Falcun Nix and Arzasaeth' flew escort.

The convoy was attacked shortly after leaving Tatooine's orbit by two raiders. Both escorts engaged, but could only buy the freighters some time until they were forced to eject. One raider was disabled inthe process, though the other pursued the "Sugar Rush" until the freighter managed to hyper.

The attack continued after the convoy had rallied later in the Corellia system, and this time the second raider was destroyed. The tenacity was unusual for a raider, but no other clues were found that could be indicating any other intent of the raider than piracy.

Skalui Urizon still at large despite high bounty

Date: 210611
Planet: Lok
Region: Red Sands

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC)

Skalui Urizon, former swoop racer turned pirate, is still at large despite a very high bounty on his head, placed by CorSec. According to the latest rumors he has gone to hide but took a hostage with him - a twi'lek woman named Eilu - in order to protect himself.

With a high bounty on his head though even such a move does not seem to help much. Even some of his fellow pirates could be sorely tempted to sell him out - or kill him themselves - and a lot of bounty hunters as well as concerned friends of Eilu must be looking all over the galaxy for the fugitive.

How long will he hold out until he or his remains are brought to River Haven Freeport, Corellia, to be cashed in? Stay tuned!

Imperial office to reopen in New Kestic?

Date: 200611
Planet: Lok
Region: New Kestic

Story: (Story written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

According to the latest rumors the old and abandoned imperial office on the outskirts of New Kestic, Lok - the factory town of the Future Droids and Weapons Systems corporation - is about to be reopened.

This concerns the residents and citizens of the town greatly - after the recent death of rebel leader Tee'won Nexus such an office may invite revenge attacks by his men, and the collateral damage may be great, as a battle over an imperial base on Lok has shown.

So far there hasn't been an official statement by mayor and CEO Amandiona Masnachwr that would confirm this rumor though.

Rebel leader killed in action - or murdered in betrayal?

Date: 200611
Planet: Lok
Region: Devon's Hope

Story: (News bulletin by Cas-Ru's player. Rest written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Today the Imperial Military released the following news bulletin:

Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the Citizens of the Empire and to the Galaxy that the Imperial Military has conducted an operation that killed Tee'won Nexus, a leader of Rebel Alliance, and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children.

Today, at my direction, the Stormtrooper Corps launched a targeted operation against that compound in Devon's Hope, Lok. A small team of Stormtroopers carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Imperials were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties. After a firefight, they killed Tee'won Nexus and took custody of his body.

For over two years, Nexus has been one of the Alliance's leaders and symbols, and has continued to plot attacks against our Empire and our friends and allies. The death of Nexus marks one of the most significant achievements to date in our effort to defeat the Rebel Alliance.

Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. There's no doubt that the Rebel Alliance will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must -- and we will -- remain vigilant at home and abroad.

Thank you, and may the Emperor bless you and watch over you.

While this looks like a clear-cut strike at a rebel cell there are persistent rumors that claim that theEmopire is just taking credit for what amounts to a betrayal within the Alliance to Restore the Republic, or a schism between the rebel forces and the criminals on Lok.

According to those rumors Tee'won Nexus was actually killed by his so-called local friends and the body left for the Empire to claim. Whether this was part of a deal with the Galactic Empire or just a way to get rid of a rival or possible obstacle for the usual criminal activities on Lok - or both - remains unclear.

Since the ideals of the Alliance to Restore the Republic - peace and freedom for every citizen of the Galaxy - stand in opposition to the goals of the criminals that use Lok as a safe harbor for their raids one can but wonder if this is a sign of further conflict between the Armed Forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the various pirates and slavers that are based on Lok or if this was just a settling of accounts, Lokian style, in a personal dispute.

Rebel command ship destroyed

Date: 190611
Planet: Local Sector

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night an imperial task force was gathered in the local sector for a multi-system search and destroy mission. The objective of the operation was a rebel command ship coordinating rebel fleet movements in the sector. The task force consisted of three gunboats, interdictor ships and about 20 fighters.

The force soon encountered a rebel presence and found their movements hindered by rebel-aligned interdictor ships. While initially able to stall the task force and even strike at their flagship, the slightly outnumbered rebel ships were slowly pushed back and trapped while losing several of their interdictors, until the command ship was isolated and destroyed. Both sides were hampered by technical problems which caused multiple ships to lose steering and communications, drifting helplessly until their systems could be rebooted - or until they were destroyed while still in the process of restarting their computer cores.

The following records show part of the operation, including the attack on the rebel command ship and an interdictor:

Cops shot in the Lucky Despot

Date: 190611

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Two days ago two members of the Mos Eisley Police Department were shot and killed when conducting scans for illegal substances and contraband inside the Lucky Despot casino. Despite several people present in the casino there was no description of the culprit other than "a man in dark mandalorian armor", which is, as an officer on the case put it, "as helpful as 'he looked humanoid to me' for narrowing down the range of suspects". Witnesses who have observed the shooting are asked to contact the local police station.

Shooting in Garubba Desilijic Kiar's palace

Date: 170611
Planet: Lok
Region: Southern Lok

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night the palace of Garubba Desilijic Kiar on Lok opened its doors. While the hutt held court and hired dancers from the Neutron Pixies provided entertainment a plethora of criminals and other shady characters arrived, looking for business, information and old friends or rivals.

As was to be expected some of the business turned out to be violent when one unidentified visitor was stunned and dragged outside, which prompted a few others to take up arms and intervene.

Despite the current troubles with Nym's Revenants no attack on the palace itself or its guards was reported.

Droid-related mishap in Nova Orion's hangar?

Last night droids caused a disturbance on the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. According to unconfirmed reports a droid went out of control in one hangar, disrupting the maintenance and refueling work there. Other visitors logged various complaints about droids, ranging from being pestered by protocoll droids to being threatened by security droids.

Nova Orion's management stated that they had no evidence of any droid-related incidents. The management did not comment on rumors about strained relations between the different companies operating on the station.

Murder near Wayfar

Date: 160611
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Western Dune Sea

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC)

Last night residents of Wayfar were witnesses to a violent firefight in the outskirts of the town. From what is known - not to the authorities, such as there are in that area, of course, since no one living in Wayfar, and such in the shdadow of Jabba's palace, actually will have seen anything when questioned - Jabba the Hutt's thugs were behind the attack, dealing with a criminal gang that had earned the Hutt's anger in the usual fatal fashion the crime lord is known for.

Whether the gang in question was working for or with a rival crime syndicate, or simply had failed or betrayed Jabba in some fashion is not known either, but since they were apparently operating near Wayfar it's likely they were at least at one point part of Jabba's cartel.

Pirate raider destroyed

Date: 140611
Planet: Tatooine/Corellia System/Ord Mantell System
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC)

Last night two freighters transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell System. The "TTC-Tencilia" and the "Sugar Rush" of Captain Britney, both YT-2400 class light freighters, were flying without a dedicated escort, trusting their turret gunners to fend of pirates.

As it happened the convoy was about to hyper out of the Corellia system, their hyperdrives almost reset, when it was attacked by a Nova Courier without a valid IFF - a pirate. The bold raider was engaged and destroyed in a short firefight with simultaneous hits with torpedoes and cannon fire. Neither freighter was damaged in the battle and both continued to Ord Mantell without delay.

IMC shares rose 1% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Nova Orion Station under scrutinity

Date: 140611
Planet: Ord Mantell System
Region: Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC)

Visitors to the Nova Orion Station were surprised yesterday to encounter a stronger Imperial presence than usual. From what is known the station is currently under scrutiny, possibly related to increased smuggling and piracy incidents in the system.

According to the imperials in charge this is just a routine inspection with no wrongdoing expected or found so far though sources in the known claim that the station staff has been sequestred for the duration of the inspection.

Eye witnesses report that the checking and scanning of new arrivals has been taken over by imperial troops as well, though contrary to the expectations of some the troops have been very polite and quite efficient. The only complaints so far known were directed against a protocoll droid who showed a questionable attitude towards twi'leks.

Date: 130611
Planet: Talus
Region: Fort Kane

Story: (Bulletin written by Eucho oocly)

The Imperial Ministry of Information and propaganda on Talus just released this news bulletin:

Imperial Security Bureau Colonel Cas-ru Roben of the IJOC Forces located in Fort Kane and throughout the galaxy has been confirmed dead.

Imperial Secuirty Bureau Cas-ru Roben was shot dead today by Mandalorians who were afflicted with the Rebel Alliance to Restore the Republic in Doaba Guerfel, Corellia. It is understood that the body of Roben was not found by the Empire, the Alliance will use this to make Propaganda in the future but yet the Alliance still try to corrupt the ways of the Imperial Citizen. The terriosts have not been found and any civilians that were in the area are advised to speak to their local Imperial recruiter or any other Imperial official.

The Empire has recalled some of their forces back to Fort Kane as a terrorist raid is expected there but the Empire will surely quench the Alliance in any attempt they make to attack Talus. The Imperial Security Bureau has opened an inquest and an investigation is under way to find the cause of death. The Empire have advised all civilians to remain calm and are to report any suspicious activities from suspicious characters, especially Mandalorians in the Corellian System.

Those who have any information or evidence to bring forward, they are to contact the following comm number or their local Imperial ISB Agent or Imperial official.
Comm: 0800-369
*This broadcast was brought to you by the Imperial Ministry of Information and Propaganda.

It remains to be seen what consequences the death of Cas-Ru Roben - if he is dead, he has been reported dead two years ago already - will have. Talus us sure to be shaken at least some though.

Gang war on Lok starting?

Date: 130611
Planet: Lok
Region: Northern Lok

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC)

Lok is infamous for its pirates, the planet harboring dozens of pirate gangs of various sizes. As anyone sane would expect, pirates make for unruly neighbours, even and especially for other pirates. However pirate lord Nym has been ruling Lok more or less without major trouble for decades now, and seems very much set to continue so.

This might change though. According to the latest rumors Lok has caught the eye of Garubba the Hutt, who has recently taken up his business in the local sector. Supposedly the crimelord's thugs have been fighting already with Nym's pirates on Lok, causing casualties and damages on both sides and among what civilians Lok still boasts of. If that rumor is true this could lead to a gang war of a size that hasn't been seen on Lok in some time.

According to the latest news Aak the toydarian slaver just reopened his infamous Club Aak, this time in the town of New Dreshdae on Rori. Apparently his earlier troubles with the law have been settled so he now can operate a business without worrying about bounty hunters.

Needless to say though that while Club Aak may be legal a number of sentients will still object to his slaving, though as the latest report of a new cargo of twi'lek slaves arriving on Rori from Ord Mantell show, disapproval won't stop him making a credit or two - or more.

A day ago the Imperial Fleet in the local sector sent a task force to protect mining operations in the Naboo system from rebel-sponsored raiders. About 20 fighters and three gunboats made up the task force, fending off rebel attacks while the mining continued. The outnumbered rebel forces kept the pressure up but could not significantly hinder the operation despite their attacks while taking heavy losses with each wave. After two hours the last surviving rebel ships withdrew.

Explosions caused by mining attract tusken?

Date: 100611
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night several citizens reported hearing explosions in the vicinity of Farpoint Valley, Tatooine. While originally a cause of concern for several residents and visitors who may have thought they were under attack it was soon claimed that said explosions were caused by mining operations in the area.

IMC manager Kimisei Bythmi stated, when asked about the explosions, that IMC was currently not using explosives for mining operating Deep Crust Extractors instead. He did also state that he did not know what other company was currently mining in the area.

Later on a sizeable number of tuskens entered the area and attacked residents until driven off or killed. The group may have been attracted by the explosions, or retaliating for any of their gathering places or holy relics damaged or destroyed by the detonations. Past clashes with tuskens mostly originated around the oasis near Farpoint Valley.

Dr. Johda's Medical Center was operating at near-full capacity after the battle, treating wounded.

Pirate attack in Farpoint Valley?

Date: 090611
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

This evening there was a shootout reported in front of Jailbirds, in Farpoint Valley Tatooine. While details are not clear it involved at least two groups of armed and armored people and left several dead and wounded. Among the dead were two men wearing armor popular among several pirate and mercenary groups such as the Black Sun and Mandalorians.

It is not yet clear if this was related to reports of a break in at the local med center - apparently droids reported attempts to raid the supply of Dr. Johda's newly opened Medical Center.

Mayor Kimisei Bythmi stated that he had no knowledge of the incident or of any hurt residents and that he did not think ther ewas any ground for concerns.

Ambush in Corellia System foiled

Planet: Tatooine/Corellia System/Ord Mantell System
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC)

Three days ago three freighters left Tatooine for Ord Mantell in a convoy for the Intergalactic Mining Company, transporting copper from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Shipyards in the Ord Mantell System. The convoy was led by Captain Dee'lin Sarlo in her YT-1300 "Phoenix", followed by Captain Britney's YT-2400 class light freighter "Sugar Rush" and captain Batair Highlander piloting the TTC-Tencilia, another YT-2400 class. The convoy was escorted by Ycoga Redspine in an Incom T-60 "X-Wing"

When the convoy reached the hyperspace jump point Corellia's Own in the Corellia system it was attacked by two pirates. Ycoga immediatedly attacked the raiders, taking damage but shoowing down one and keepoing the other engaged until the three freighters took it down with combined blaster fire. The convoy then continued to Ord Mantell.

While details were not known the accounts agree that the battle endured for quite some time, before first one ship, then another, left the premises. One person mentioned observing a number of explosions, and what looked like the evacuation of wounded.

Scam during the Nomad Market?

Date: 090611
Planet: Dathomir
Region: South-Eastern Dathomir

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Last night the Nomad Market took place on Dathomir, the planet of dark witches and darker skies. Despite an Imperial Blockade the market was well-frequented, and even the infamous wildlife of Dathomir was kept in check - or served as impromptu restocking opportunities for both cooks as well as tailors.

Apart from the pet shows done by UnChained Enterprises, including the hatching of two very rare Tanrays - rumored to be the first Tanrays in the galaxy born in captivity, which attracted a lot of attention there was a small scandal regarding a very high entry fee of a rather empty tent. Several people with either deep pockets, burning curiosity, or both, paid the fee only to discover an "interesting" but ultimately devoid of business opportunities interiour. It is not known if the owner of the tent managed to collect the paid fees, or fell victim to street justice - or rather market justice in this case - on the spot, but one would do well to check the pots of the witches in the near future, should any of them have entered.

From what is known at least part of the criminals escaped the CorSec forces, though no wanted notice has been released to the puiblic so far, which caused rumors of a political cover-up taking place.

Spearheaded by an Imperial Star Destroyer the Empire's forces, backed by four gunboats, tried to destroy a key orbital station while the Alliance forces holding the planet attempted to take out the flagship of the attacking fleet. Both sides reported that their objective was achieved while decrying the other side's claims as propaganda.

What has been confirmed is that for hours after the battle fighters were still engaged in the system, struggling for space superiority.

Last night the Illusion Theatre in River Haven, Corellia, hosted the play "Spectre of the Theatre", as the opening event of River Haven's 3rd Anniversary celebration.

Sponsored by the Afterburn Racing Company the play by Amul'ette of Holowood fame featured many established and rising stars, with the female lead performed by Rayna and the male leads performed by Lazo Firbyne and Jeevik.

The play's special effects were at times so realistic that they shocked part of the audience. No injuries or overreactions were reported though, not even from those on leave from fighting in the Galactic Civil War.

The play was very well received by the audience, with a standing ovation for the actors. Afterwards the town's celebration started outside the theatre.

Accident over Ryloth - freighter lost

Date: 050611
Planet: Ryloth System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Two days ago an unidentified Y-8 class freighter broke apart near Ryloth's orbit. No distress call was sent out but at least one escape pod was observed heading towards the planet's surface while the two main pieces left of the freighter started to drift and spin away from the planet. The planetary authority did not mount a rescue mission, citing the lack of adequate orbital facilities and the unidentified nature of the freighter. Unofficially it was assumed that the freighter, likely a spice or slave transport, had not paid the proper bribes.

A shuttle reportedly stolen from a local corporation was detected later on a course headed for the wreck before disappearing from the scanners.

Date: 020611
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Crimson Ridge

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC.)

Crimson Ridge has opened more plots of lands for development, aimed at any investor or settler interested in building near a shuttleport on Tatooine in an established city. Given the somewhat shady past of the city and its officials, rumors sprung up claiming that the disappearance of the residents who formerly occupied the aforementioned land was not simply due to them moving away, but caused by more sinister means. Governor Dee'lin Sarlo was quoted stating that there was no truth to those rumors of crimes.

His excellency Jabba the Hutt, who was rumored to have a stake in the city, was not available for comment due to an extended meal taking place.
