Three days ago the YT-2400 light freighter "Sugar Rush" of Captain Britney' was transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Company from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system. The freighter and its experienced crew were escorted by three fighters piloted by Kavilap Rochry, Barrenger Fynar and Ausmis Moonstryder.
Despite their numbers the escorts were quickly shot down when the convoy was attacked in the Corellia System by a pirate YT-2400 - "Grumpy Corsair" - and a Scurrg fighter/bomber. The "Sugar Rush" started evasive action, chased by both pirates, and the Scurrg was shot down while getting too close. The following records were recovered from its wreckage:
The "Grumpy Corsair" didn't let up though, and chased the "Sugar Rush" for 10 minutes, often exchanging fire and penetrating the light freighter's armor even, before the "Sugar Rush" managed to jump away. The ore was safely delivered to the Ord Mantell system.
IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.
