Pirate hunted by convoy

The weekly convoys sent by the Intergalactic Mining Company with ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards in the Ord Mantell system are favorite targets for various pirates even though they are usually well-protected. Last week the two freighters making the trip, Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300-class "Spinning Cloud" and the YT-1300 light freighter "Hot Tub" piloted by Ramona, turned the table on a pirate though.

When their escort Barrenger Fynar, who had jumped to Corellia ahead of the freighters to secure a jump point, was attacked and his ship disabled by a pirate YT-2400, the two freighters jumped in as well and hurried to the location of the attack, first driving off the pirate, then chasing it down. The pirate was finally shot down after a long running engagement.



Unfortunately the pirate ship was not brought up but destroyed, leaving no survivors to be arrested and interrogted by the local authorities. The two feighters continued to Ord Mantell afterwards.

IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.
