Convoy saved by Imperial patrol

Last night the cargo convoy chartered and organized by the Intergalactic Mining Corporation which transported ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell came under attack by pirates once again.

The convoy consisted of the YT-2400 class light freighter "TTC-Tencilia", piloted by Ramona, and the YT-1300 class ship "Ss Albatross", piloted by Captain Exile, as well as a TIE Escort from the 42nd Fighter Wing. The convoy ran into trouble even before leaving the Tatooine system when it was attacked by two raiders at the Desert Sands hyperpoint. While both freighters managed to jump out safely the escort was disabled.

Unfortunately the escape was short-lived - the raiders followed the freighters to the Naboo system and attacked them near Sea of Veruna. In the following fight a Y-Wing was shot down but the remaining pirate, flying a modified TIE Interceptor, likely the result of battelfield salvage, managed to disable both the "TTC-Tencilia" as well as the "Ss Albatross", and only the timely arrival of the decimator-class patrol ship "I.S.S. Extinguisher", which chased the raider away, saved the convoy.



The freighters managed to repair the damaged engines and reactors, and reached the hyperspace point "Penumbra Omen", where the battered ships linked up with the two Decimator-class patrol boats "I.S.S. Obliterator" and "I.S.S. Annihilator", who escorted the freighters safely to Ord mantell and the Nova Orion Station. Local authorities in the Ord Mantell system expressed concern over the use of Imperial starfighters by raiders.

IMC shares fell 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.
