Northeast of Farpoint Valley, about 1 km away from the city limits one can find an Oasis, one of only three known on Tatooine. As expected this is a quite popular recreation spot for the local population. Two days ago there was a beach party held there at night, which drew a few people from all over Tatooine.
Farpoint Valley's mayor Kimisei Bythmi drove out there as well, but not to attend the party, but to remind the party-goers that the location was outside the city limits and therefore subject to some dangers, and that the community would not be held accountable if anything happened. Since security for the party was provided by several droids and guards and since most of the residents of Tatooine are armed themselves his concerns were noted, but not particularly shared.
Ironically the mayor himself was attacked by wild animals on his way back to the town and barely escaped in his speeder. Mayor Bythmi did not want to comment on the incident himself.
