After a slight lull, pirate attacks increased again. Yesterday, the IMC Convoy Convoy from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Nova Orion Station, Ord Mantell, was once again attacked in force by pirate raiders in the Naboo system. The convoy entered at Kylantha's Whim, where the lead ship, Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300 "Spinning Cloud" took off, followed by Captain Traynu Asog's YT-1300 "Climbatize", escorted by three fighters, took off for the next jump point. On the way, they were jumped by several raiders - mostly A-Wings and probably stolen imperial interceptors. The convoy fought them all off, however, without any losses other than some damage to an escorting T-65 piloted by Zaando, who was able to continue the trip after emergency repairs by its astrodroid.
IMC Stock rose 3% at the Coronet stock exchange following the repulsed attack.

ISD "Vindicator" lost in Deep Space
Date: 220708
Planet: Deep Space
Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).
Three days ago, the ISD "Vindicator", an Imperial Star Destroyer, was damaged and rendered immobile during a capture operation. Rebel units started an attack while imperial escort units arriving to reinforce the damaged ship.
Despite a spirited defense by outnumbered fighters and patrol craft, the "Vindicator" was damaged beyond repair after about 45 minutes of intense fighting. A desperate counter attack on the rebel base in the sector failed with sever losses to the attacking craft, and the remaining imperial forces were unable to keep the rebels from salvaging the remains of the Star destroyer and withdrawing.
According to the Imperial Navy Sector HQ, Deep Space was secured shortly after the battle by reinforcements, but too late to hinder the rebel withdrawal.

Pirate attacks lessening in the Naboo System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).
One week ago, the IMC Convoy Convoy from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Nova Orion Station, Ord Mantell, consisting of Captain Ryian Coron's YT-1300 Spinning Cloud and the Vigo-class "Warhawk" of captain Randolf Hawkins encountered another pirate attack in the Naboo system. The attack - three fighters - was driven off without troubles by the "Spinning Cloud" and Traynu Asog's escorting Vaksai without ever coming close to the "Warhawk".
IMC's management stated that the route was growing more secure each week, and that it expected even less trouble in the future. RSF was available for a comment.

Draz'tek a pioneer in armor fashion?
Date: 180708
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley
Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).
Some of our readers may recall the time when composite armor was the thing to wear, and almost every soldier, hunter or safety-conscious civilian wore composite armor - mostly of dull grey.
In recent times, fashion changed, and other armor types became more common. However, composite armor is still wide-spread - the suits are durable, and people get a lot of milleage out of them. However, with this comes a need for some people to get a distinct look - not everyone wants to look like a clone. For years, various color schemes have been sufficient for most. However, some go beyond that, combining different armor styles and colors for their own unique look.
Last night, our social correspondent saw a really original example of such armor customisation, which surpassed such schemes. This fashion trendsetter is Draz'tek. When he was leaving Jailbirds in Farpoint Valley last night he was wearing composite armor with an entire painting on his helmet. The painting, according to our Nabooian Art expert done in the classic "Theed graffiti style" - no doubt a nod to the neo-speed-stoic movement of Moenia, which pioneered such "quick painting" prior to the clone wars - showed a colorful landscape.
As an added touch, Draz'tek colored his own lekku with bright pink pictures of stars and flowers - a daring contrast to the helmet design, almost avant-garde in the way it clashes colors, and designs, and reminescent of the late fashion designer Dr'k, who was famous for his "color-blind" edition of clothes.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find out who did the art for this designs, but our art expert will do his utmost once he is back from covering the latest installation of Buri "Nova" Ferin on Heruk Prime.

Imperial Navy wins pitched battle
Date: 080708
Planet: Deep Space
Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).
Three days ago, Deep Space once again was the location of a battle between the growing rebel forces in the sector and the task force of the Imperial Navy assigned to pacify the systems and restore law and order.
At first the two fleets battled for control of staging areas in the system, with the Imperial starfighters pushing the rebel units quickly back. Soon capital ships were brought in by both sides, and the fighting became even fiercer. A first rebel offensive was beaten back with the rebel losing multiple gunboats. When the Imperial task force tried to use the momentum however, the rebels split them up and dealt heavy losses to the imperial gunboats. But the Imperial forces rallied, and met the rebels on even terms, searching for their flagship. The fighting quickly became a chaotic mass of individual dogfights and small actions. Finally, the rebel main ships were discovered and destroyed, driving the rebel fleet into retreat.
The Imperial Navy's press released cited Commander Octus of RID for going above and beyond the call of duty. When his personal yacht had engine troubles and blocked the docks of the imperial gunboats about to head out to join the battle, he personally blew it up, opening the way for the gunboats, sacrificing a large part of his personal fortune in the process.

IMC Convoy attacks pirates
Date: 080708
Planet: Tatooine/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station
Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).
While pirates have been getting bolder, attacking heavily escorted convoys in patrolled systems, some freighter captains have gotten even bolder - at least the latest IMC Convoy from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to Nova Orion Station, Ord Mantell, seems to indicate this. The two unescorted YT-1300 freighters making up the convoy last week - Captain Metuki Ryuuj in his "Bad Company" and Captain Traynu, an experienced fighter pilot, in his "Climbatize" were attacked in the Naboo system by three raiders - one M-22 "Krayt" Gunship, and two Incom "X-Wings".
Instead of fleeing however the two freighters, trusting their gunners, counter-attacked, and shot down all three attackers in short order before contonuing, unchallenged, to Ord Mantell.
IMC's press release stated that the constant pressure on the pirates, and the expereinced ship captains the firm was hiring were rendering the convoy more scure than ever. The firm did not comment on alleged damages to civilian ships by overeager gunners of the convoy during the gathering in Tatooine's orbit, stating that a weapon malfunction was under investigation.
