Count Lesap attacked

Date: 130108
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Count Yyroe Lesap, of Theed, was attacked and wounded seriously enough to require hospitalisation three days ago. While he was able to present his famous water gardens –the only ones of that scale built in a yacht known so far – to GNA, he was still visibly affected by his wounds.

Although the count did not comment on the identity or even details of the attack, informed sources told us that he lost a finger in the incident. Speculation regarding the motive of this crime has risen. Some think it might be related to the count’s recent trip to Tatooine, a planet known for its criminal organisations. Others suspect a tie to the recent murder of Count Laco League. And some fringe elements of Naboo’s society claim this was a murder attempt on part of the Queen’s Court, in order to cover up a conspiracy of some sort.

Heir to Mensix found - changes on Mustafar

Date: 100108
Planet: Mustafar
Region: Mensix Mining Facility

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The heir of General Laco League has been found – his uncle Selorian League accepted the heritage, including the title of Count and the substantial fortune, a bit ago. He was present at the funeral of the General. He was quoted with the following words:

Laco was a man of honor. I carry the great burden of not having met my only nephew. I hope that justice will prevale, that my nephew's killer is caught before she harms someone else.

In order to speed up this process, the Empire is expected to post a bounty contract on Myxxie Eosad soon. Selorian himself is due to donate one hundred thousand credits to the “Stormtrooper Widow” fund, but has not placed any private bounty as far as it is known, which is surprising.

Mensix’ survival is not yet assured though - a Hutt called Jabba Desilijic Tiure who is based on Tatooine - became a major shareholder in Mensix after Count Selorian and other directors sold an equal number of shares. The reasons and effects of this investement are not yet known, but a number of analysts expressed concerns.

In a surprising announcement, Mensix stated that it had started archaeological digs on Mustafar, and claimed that it had always had an interest in Old Republic Relics.

IMC Convoy attacked by "Mad Kusak" Waefi

Date: 090108
Planet: Tatooine/Karthakk System
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday, the Intergalactic Mining Corporation charatered another freighter for an ore transport from Tatooine to Corellia. While the cargo - asteroid ore - was small enough for a single freighter, the "Maw Crusher", a YT-1300 captained by Toder, the value of the ore apparently was big enough for the firm to hire several escorting fighters.

The convoy ran into problems early on though - two escort fighters dropped out in Tatooine's orbit due to technical troubles. During the refueling stop in the Karthakk system, a lone starfighter later identified as a Vaksai piloted by "Mad Kusak" Waefi, attacked, first disabling both escorts, then seriously damaging the freighter before pulling back. Despite the clear superiority, there was no following boarding or hijacking attempt, and the frantic crew of the ships managed to conduct emergency repairs and continue their course for the Corellia system.

There, the mad pirate struck again right when the "Maw Crusher" was reaching Corellia's orbit. In a brave move, the escorts engaged the pirate, buying enough time for the freighter to safely land. The pirate disappeared soon afterwards.

No one is sure of the motives of Waefi, since neither a boarding attempt nor a call to jettison the cargo was made. A crew member of the "Maw Crusher" as well as an escorting pilot commented on the erratic and evasive flying of the pirate, which made it all but impossible to score hits on his ship, and expressed the hope that "he was puking his guts out".

TIme will tell if this attack was just a scouting attempt, but IMC is well-advised to hire more escorts for the next ore transport. The company's stock rose 5% following the arrival of the freighter, but fell 2% after details of the trip became known.

New suspect in General League's murder

Date: 090108
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

In the investigation of General Laco League's death in Theed, new information has been discovered. Until now, blood traces found on a lightsaber that was recovered at the scene of the crime could not be matched with either of the dead storm troopers or the dead General.

Recently, information was leaked that those blood traces have been identified as belonging to a woman named Myxxie Eosad. Imperial Investigators declined to comment on this when asked for a statement, citing the need not to disclose information crucial to the investigation.

From what is known, this information makes Myxxie Eosad the prime suspect in this murder case. Her current location is unknown, but according to rumors she was killed by a bounty hunter a while back, after running afoul of Jabba the Hutt. Further investigation is needed to determine when exactly her death was reported, if this happened prior to the murder of General League then this may have just been a cover up.

Gambling night sees high stakes – and lost clothes

Date: 040108
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night, a Dance & Gambling Night was held in Jailbirds, Farpoint Valley, Tatooine. Celox Scorpio was running Pazaak games while the Neutron Pixies entertained the numerous guests. Aicha, Kayet, Ieneu, Ramona and Syrehna were dancing while their manager Clarissa Goldear kept an eye on the club.

Gambling stakes were high – the game was for high rollers, as Celox was heard to say several times. Enormous sums were won – and lost. Some may even have gambled away their clothes - according to rumors two men, among them Jeric Varrit, were seen running around naked for some time.

For the most time, the stakes remained credits though, and Fodri was among the lucky winners, taking 2’000’000 credits home after his challenge to Celox the Pazaak champion. Celox recouped some of his losses against K’yna Mont’yr later, in a pitched match, before taking on Corrent Gilo, another skilled player.

Count Lesap, who was supposed to be dead according to some rumors, was at the event as well, looking more than alive as he tried to cover Jeric Varrit up.

Even the spa of the club was packed, offering relaxation to those who were neither after the thrill of gambling nor the entertainment of a dance show. There was almost no violence during the evening, rare for Tatooine. One man had to be treated for a blaster wound by a visiting medic, but as it turned out it was an older wound, taken in a med center on Corellia, which had become infected. And Jeric Varrit ended up knocked out on the floor for a bit after he allegedly insulted the performers, although it is unclear if he meant to.

Heir still not found after Theed murder

Date: 040108
Planet: Naboo
Region: Theed

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After the brutal murder of General Laco League in Theed, whose body was found floating at the base of the water falls in Theed, killed by a shot to the head and multiple lightsaber burns, it is still unclear if he left any heirs. General League was the only son of Bardo League, the major shareholder in the Mensix Mining Corporation.

With the importance of the mining operations there for the economy and even the military of the sector, not to mention the title “Count of Mustafar”, it comes as no surprise that multiple people are looking for such a heir – although their motives may not always be unquestionable. With the suspicion that rebels are behind the murder of General League, this may be part of a plot to take control of the mining operations away from the Empire even.

Meanwhile, a picture of a possible heir has surfaced while his name has not yet been discovered:

One rumor has that the trace of said heir leads to Tatooine – a Count Lesap from Naboo has been seen on the planet, asking questions related to this affair while not giving any answers. With so much money at stake, this is bound to attract the interest of the local criminals as well though.

Public Execution in Mos Eisley

Date: 040108
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Two days ago, imperial troopers publically executed an insurgent in the streets of Mos Eisley, right in front of Chalmun’s. The troopers even called for spectators, obviously making an example of the rebel, despite a partially hostile reaction of the people present.

It is not known if the man who was shot was sentenced to death by a judge or if he was shot without trial, but the whole spectacle lets one suspect that the Empire is pressed hard by insurgents in the local sector, and is now using such tatcics in an attempt to scare the population into compliance with Imperial politics.

How successful such strong-arm tactics will be in a town whose population is known for their criminal activities remains to be seen. It could very well turn out to be counter-productive - a number of people seem to be even more determined to fight the Empire after witnessing the execution.

Imperial deserters turn to piracy?

Date: 040108
Planet: Tatooine/Karthakk System
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Three days ago, IMC sent another convoy carrying ore from Tatooine to Corellia, after the life day seasonal break was over. The three freighters – the TTC-Sunbeam, a YT-2400 class freighter piloted by K’yna Mont’yr, the “Liberty”, a YT-1300 class ship captained by Odev Kameuv, and a brand new YT-2400 freighter piloted by Afafan, were escorted by the “Princess”, an ARC-170 long range strike fighter crewed by Daradyn and his crew.

The convoy encountered no troubles in the Tatoo system, but was attacked in the Karthakk system by unidentified pirates. One pirate ship, a Dunelizard, was quickly shot down by the “Princess”, while the other pirate ship, a TIE Agressor with no markings, engaged the convoy for several minutes and managed to damage the “Princess” seriously before being destroyed by missiles and gun fire from the freighters. The damaged “Princess” was towed to the Trade Federation station, where it underwent repairs before the convoy set out for the last leg of its route, and arrived safely in on Corellia.

It is very unusual to see a recent imperial design in the hand of pirates, so the most likely explanation for this is that this was a deserter who took his ship and turned to piracy. The local sector command of the Imperial Navy did not comment on any missing TIE Agressor ships, declaring the information classified.

IMC stock went up 5% following this news.
