According to the latest news Crimson Ridge is currently being rebuilt under new mayor Ashana Naberrie, a tailor and businesswoman. The exact circumstances of the crisis that hit the city and caused the shuttleport and city hall to be destroyed are yet unclear, though a new city hall has been erected and efforts to repair the shuttleport are still under way.
The fate of former mayor Thode Voth is not known, though rumors claim he was killed in a recent explosion caused by a group named "The Nightflower Syndicate", said to be associated with the Black Sun, and on behalf of an agent known as "Nightflower Two", though since the syndicate is known to take assassination contracts this might be deliberate misinformation.
Some sources claim that the nightflower syndicate doesn't hire anyone but female agents, their ranks displayed by the numbers added to their code names, but this as well remains unconfirmed.

IMC Convoy involved in spy affair?

After the loss or near loss of two convoys in the past weeks, the Intergalactic Mining Corporation spared no expense in making sure their next ore cargo arrived safely at the Nova Orion shipyards in Ord Mantell. When the ship - Captain Alila Tisoni's YT-2400 "Corelian Star" - launched from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, it was escorted by four fighters: One TIE Fighter and one TIE Oppressor, courtesy of the Imperial Navy, a Bellubab-22 piloted by Barrenger Fynar and one Vaksai piloted by Consequential.
The convoy excited the Tatooine system without encountering any pirates, but was attacked severalt times in the Naboo system, without any harm done other than some armor damage to one fighter, before reaching the Ord Mantell System.
There the "Corellia Star" encountered an unidentified Corellian corvette, which started to fire on the convoy while the freighter sped away. While the corvette was destroyed in the following fight, one Imperial pilot later, on the Nova Orion Station, voiced his suspicion that Captain Tisoni had sent an encoded transmission to the corvette prior to the battle - though the destruction of the corvette meant that it could not be proven or disproven. Further investigations are expected though.
IMC shares rose 2% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Rebels attack Imperial base in Corellia System

Last night the Corellia system was the site of one of the longest and most brutal space battles in the sector. An Imperial Base situated at an asteroid was discovered to be the target of a massive rebel offensive and Imperial ships were scrambled to defend it from all over the sector. Led by the YE-4-class gunboat "Onyx Mauler" the ad-hoc defense forces consisted of about a dozen starfighters of various types gathered from several units.
The defenders were soon pressed hard as wave after wave of rebel ships attacked, from squadrons of Nova Courier missile boats to swarms of X-Wings and A-Wings, Y-Wings and B-Wing bombers augmented with Vaksais and ARC-170s, as well as several gunboats it seemed as if the entire rebel fleet of the sector was involved in the battle.
Despite being outnumbered massively the defenders held the line for hours, beating back attack after attack and inflicting heavy losses on the rebels, who were at times attacking the base heedless of their own safety or survival. After more than two and a half hours the evacuation order was finally given, and the base abandonned.
Unfortunately the ship transporting the case crew was shot down shortly before reaching safety.

Holovid star on the run

Four days ago Black Sands erupted in violence when a squad of stormtroopers were attacked and almost wiped out to a man by unknown attackers. While the exact details are not known, rumors claim that the soldiers were assisting an ISB representative in the arrest of holovid star Amul'ette. Apparently the twi'lek actress has broken her parole, though how is currently not known.
Amul'ette has not een seen since the incident, presumably hiding with whoever killed the Imperial troopers. This is bound to cause a second look at the verdict of the recent trial in Fort Keen, which saw the actress cleared of the charges of treason and support of the Rebel Alliance.

Pirates attack IMC Convoy in Tatooine system

The weekly cargo convoy transporting ore for the Intergalactic Mining Corporation from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion shipyards has been encountering pirates mainly in the Naboo system. Three days ago though the convoy, consisting of Captain Dee'lin's YT-1300 "Phoenix", Captain Inaera Kell's YT-2400 "Outlaw's Justice" and Captain Sive'a's YT-1300 "Light Ray", with Ramona flying escort, was jumped by three pirates in the Tatooine system.
In a short fight all ships were quickly disabled, though Dee'lin's crew managed to jury-rig emergency repairs and get away while the attackers were dealing with the remaining ships, reaching Ord Mantell safely.
IMC shares fell 4% at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Wake for Celox Scorpio held in Farpoint Valley

Last night a wake was held in Jailbirds for Celox Scorpio, late manager of Holowood Galactic Studios. Celox, who had been executed two weeks ago following a trial in Fort Keen, had been a frequent visitor to the club, and a plaque in his memory was mounted and unveiled in the venue's gambling room during the wake.
Several of Celox' friends attended, each one speaking about the rodian's life and the impact he has had on them, before toasting his memory. As was asked for in the invitations politics were not brought up in the speeches during those personal moments.
Ramona retold how she first met Celox while he was still working as a mercenary pilot and how he gradually became the entertainment manager he was known so widely as in the end. Poe'kunal told the story of how the wily gambler managed to beat him in a card game he thought won for sure and celebrity street rapper Ronin'Jekknai' spoke of his experiences with Celox as manager of HGS, and of the courage Celox showed despite his fear. Others spoke of their own encounters with the rodian, some shedding some light on a few shadier and less known aspects of Celox' life.
