Slave mutilated as punishment

Date: 300909
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

According to the latest news a wookiee slave in New Doros was mutilated by Liandara Myveth in a most cruel way as a punishment. Details are sketchy, but rumors claim the wookiee had injured a twi'lek slave of Aak the Toydarian in a dispute that turned violent, and that the mutilation was part of the amends made between the slavers.

This is not the first violent incident involving slaves in New Doros and one cannot help but wonder when the next will occur - and what other atrocities will be inflicted upon the slaves as a result. As long as this cruel practise is tolerated by the local authorities there seems no chance for this cycle of violence to ever end.

More pirate attacks repelled by the "Crescent Raven"

Date: 290909
Planet: Tatoo System/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night another freighter chartered by the Intergalactic Mining Company encountered pirates on its flight from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. The freighter, Captain Ashen Katarna's X-4 "Crescent Raven", was escorted by Corym in a Rhikxyrk Heavy fighter.

The two ships entered the Naboo system through the Penumbra Omen hyperspace jump point, and were attacked by pirate raiders while cooling down their hyperdrives. The escorting fighter was disabled by missile and blaster fire, but the heavily armed and armored "Crescent Raven", guns blazing, managed to shoot down two raiders without taking any damage.

Corym's fighter was towed to the Naboo orbital station by RSF where it is undergoing repairs. The "Crescent Raven" continued towards Ord Mantell and delivered its cargo safely.

IMC shares rose 5 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Library of Quietus closed down

Date: 290909
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

A few days ago the Library of Quietus in New Doros, which had been the target of vandals several times in the last two months, was closed. According to our information the library was condemned and the librarians were disbanded.

The library, a place of contemplatation, has also been called a temple in the past, and had been the center of a controversy with so far unknown elements, presumably from out of system. There were even rumors of more sinister actions taking place there, but nothing was ever confirmed.

The head librarian was not available for a statement, which fueled speculation about some criminal act being the cause for the closing of the institution. Given the frequent outbreaks of violence in new Doros this seems not entirely unlikely.

The Smashed Nuna opens on Rori

Date: 280909
Planet: Rori
Region: Southern Rori

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday the Smashed Nuna cantina opened in the IMEF base on Rori. The area was secured by stormtroopers and walkers, allowing the guests - mostly imperial soldiers on leave - to enjoy the event. The commander of the 1st Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force, General Kitross Nasscal, was present of course, despite the demands on his time due to the on-going Galactic Civil War.

Entertainment was provided by Neutron Pixies recruit Aylia dancing and Nu'ro and Kas'ra playing music, with Ramona joining Aylia later on the stage.

Due to the lack of the regular bartender officer Ichi Senshi stepped up and handled the bar, including a slight confusion about a not properly labelled bottle of alien liquor, which was disposed of later. Other than that the soldiers, both from the IMEF as well as from various other units, enjoyed the opportunity to relax in peace without the danger of getting attacked by insurgents hidden among the populace.

Smuggling on the rise in the Dathomir system?

Date: 280909
Planet: Dathomir System
Region: Northern Dathomir

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Dathomir is infamous among spacers and explorers for its dangers. Between hostile natives, rumored to be all force users, hostile animals and several rather secluded settlements whose inhabitants have a tendency to retain their privacy by killing visitors, the planet attracts only those with very compelling reasons to make landfall there. And such reasons do exist, as evidenced by the imperial patrols in te system, and the ships that sneak or fight their way to and off the planet anyway.

Three days ago a Vigo-class gunboat was detected taking off from the northern part of Dathomir, boosting away from the planet's orbit at maximum speed and shaking off pursuit by Void Wing bandits and Black Sun raiders before making the jump out of system, way ahead of any patrols. The scanners showed another ship near the Vigo, a possible escorting craft, but not even the type could be identified before contact was lost.

One day ago another freighter, an unidentified YT-1300, lifted off from the Trade Outpost, without clearance by local traffic control, evaded the approaching patrols and made the jump to Hyperspace.

System command stated that no cargo or passenger flight had been authorized and that the Vigo likely had been a smuggler, given the lack of a distress call or report when attacked by Void Wing bandits. They did not comment on speculations that the alleged smugglers were dealing in restricted "cultural artifacts" from the indigenous tribes of Dathomir, though it's an open secret that such "ressources" are some of the hottest commodities Dathomir has to offer and very much sought after in certain circles. Given the hostile attitude of the natives most such artifacts are acquired through violence however.

Though as the rotted remains of a massacre a group of hunters discovered in a spider-infested cave shows - the dead were all killed swiftly and with weapons that match some of those employed by local tribes - the native clans of Dathomir are as violently hostile - or even more hostile - to each other as they are towards strangers.

Rebels push Imperial Navy back in Deep Space skirmish

Date: 270909
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After the victorious operation above Talus the week before the Imperial Navy suffered a defeat last night in Deep Space where the Revel Alliance deployed several capital ships supported by bombers and starfighters.

Led by Commander Wezz Jansson the imperial starfighters, drawn together from several units such as DFA, Obsidian Dagger Squadron and Onyx Squadron, battled the rebel onslaught for several hours, suffering severe atrition over the course of the battle. The force that was withdrawn at the end was just a shadow of the one deployed at the beginning.

The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine:

Skalui Urizon wins big at the RAA Race event in Fort Oasis!

Date: 270909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Fort Oasis

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday the first RAA event, organized by Aratak, was held in Fort Oasis, the main base of RID on Tatooine. Attracted by substantial cash prizes racers from all over the galaxy gathered to compete in various competitions, ranging from Swoop Races to Anything Goes, even a race for animal mounts was held.

Ipled the wookiee served as announcer though the event, his loud voice announcing each set, and not even when the racers, probably caught up in the heat of the competition as much as the planet, forgot the number of laps they had to do did he lose his calm.

Skalui Urizon, whose somewhat shady reputation also includes being a former swoop racer according to some rumors, proved that both the rumors were true and that his skills had not diminished much by age.

He won the Open Race, which started the race series, on his Geonosian Speeder, with Natylya coming in second, Neutra third. The mount race was won by Saaren on his Varactyl mount, with Natylya coming in second on an Eopie mount. The following Swoop Race was won by Natylya, with Skalui coming in second place, before Isuk'ap.

The Speeder Race was once again won by Skalui, before Aratak on his Pod Racer and Feral' on her BARC Speeder. The final Free Race was once again won by Skalui, with TK and Saaren tieing for second place. It was unusual in that all racers forgot the number of laps needed, and stopped prematurely, until Ipled informed them about their mistake, at which point the race was continued for a last, wild lap, during which Skalui once again took the lead, earning 500K for his victory.

The overall champion though was Bonowhem, who took the title in the last races held after a short break.

Aratak is looking for more host cities, on other planets, so the RAA looks to be expanding.

Aluminum Rush on Mustafar

Date: 260909
Planet: Mustafar
Region: Berken's Flow

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mustafar, a planet that's geologically still very much active - which means, lots of volcanos and rivers of lava turn the landscape into the galaxies biggest barbecue for unwary travelers - is known for its valuable ores. Specialized miners have been operating on Mustafar in the Mensix Mining Facility for decades, despite the hellisch enviroment.

However, the recent discovery of a vein of aluminum of unprecedent quality has dwarved the past activities. Despite Mustafar being unsuited for the usual automated mining, the quality of this ore is so great that miners, prospectors and even traders that haven't left their office since the clone wars rushed to Mustafar to mine it by hand.

Braving attacks by rabid Tulrus packs and other dangerous animals, those brave miners gathered near Berken's Flow, almost standing on top of each other to mine the ore, their only protection a few droids and some hired guards, though both may succumb to the heat at any moment, leaving the miners defenseless against the animals.

But the lure of profit is stronger, and camps are made and broken hourly, in the middle of dozens of sentinetspeople mining like crazy. No one knows when the vein will be depleted, and no one wants to miss even a handful of this ore.

IMEF Commander visits Farpoint Valley

Date: 260909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The First Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force is not unknown on Tatooine, but hasn't been operating officially on the planet yet. This might soon change, however, since its commanding officer, General Kitross Nasscal, visited the night club "Jailbirds" in Farpoint Valley last night, together with several of his men.

Officially this was an informal gathering of soldiers on leave, but rumors started that it was also an unofficial recon mission and that the General's unit is preparing for operations on Tatooine in the near future. If those operations are working in tandem with Lt. Colonel Welaspic's campaign against criminals or aimed at a number of the rumored rebel units based on Tatooine is not known at this point, but it's likely that both rebels and criminals are getting a bit nervous on Tatooine.

Ore transport to Aventine attacked by pirates

Date: 260909
Planet: Lok
Region: Aventine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

The Karthakk system is known as a pirate system among spacers - mostly thanks to the power the "pirate king" Nym wields on the system's habitable planet, Lok. The infrequent imperial patrols in the system barely dent the pirate population, or so it seems, so any ship travelling through or to the system is awell-advised to be escorted or well-armed - preferably both.

The "Crescent Raven" of Captain Ashen Katarna, an X-4 class medium freighter, is well armed, as it has proven several times during IMC convoys. So it was no surprise it was chartered by the Tatooine Trading Company for a delivery of asteroid ore to Aventine, Lok.

As expected - or feared - the ship was attacked by pirates almost right after reaching the system through the jump point Voria's Ember, but once again proved to be tougher than the pirates expected, clearing the way by force even in a small asteroid field, afterwads landing at Aventine's spaceport without further trouble, its crew taking a break in the local cantina while the cargo was unloaded.

Wanted man shoots bartender in Mos Carova

Date: 260909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Carova

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Carova's Pub is, despite the somewhat shady reputation of a number of the town's residents, usually a peaceful place - compared to say Chalmun's. However even so it sees its share of violence.

Two days ago Traycn proved this. The man had a very high bounty on his head, placed by the Talusian Government according to some sources, and he was presumably hiding in the cantina in Mos Carova from those on his trail. A smart decision given his relationship to the town's mayor, Te'he - the two have been a couple for some time according to the latest gossip.

When he was advised to disguise himself though Te'he objected, stating she liked his looks, at which point the bartender called her shallow for risking her lover's life for mere appearances. Traycn took offense to this though, drew his blaster and shot the bartender twice at point blank range.

Even on Tatooine such behaviour is not likely to be tolerated - provided the victim has friends - and so Traycn was quickly overwhelmed by the bystanders and taken away while the doctor of the town struggled to save the wounded twi'lek's life - she's currently in a coma, but expected to recover according to the latest information.

Traycn apparently was drugged and dumped in New Doros as a punishment, and was said to have been promptly arrested as well, though a day or two later he was seen on Tatooine again. According to a rumor Te'he paid his bail. How the rest of the resdients reacted to his return can only be speculated about, but anyone visiting would be well-advised to ce careful around the man so as to avoid another violent blow-up.

Imperial Officer announces War on Crime

Date: 230909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Lt. Colonel Welaspic just released the following statement:

Over the past week, I've seen a lot of speculation on what my goals are. As such, I've decided to clear things up before speculation turns to "facts". My goals are the same now as the ones stated in my first communique; to clean up the criminal elements plaguing Tatooine and make the planet safer for loyal citizens. And to those that might think that this is only temporay - rest assured that I wont be letting up my efforts anytime soon. If anything, efforts will be stepped up. The patrols are just a first step. Other measures are being planned in cooperation with other officers. Criminals on Tatooine shall no longer be allowed to carry out their illegal activities unopposed.

Long Live the Empire

- Lt. Colonel Welaspic

The statement reached us together with reports from further stormtrooper patrols, near such hotbeds of insurgents and criminals as Anchorhead and Wayfar. So far there's no information about the aforementioned "other measures".

Despite the obvious ressources at her disposal it remains to be seen if Lt. Colonel Welaspic can achieve her stated goals given the expected resistance of the various criminal organisations and gangs on Tatooine - or if she'll suffer an accident in the line of duty.

Brotherhood of Dosh mutilates mercenary and threatens imperial officer

Date: 230909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night saw another display of savage violence from members of the Brotherhood of Dosh, likely related to their struggle to monopolize the slave trade. The Brotherhood's shaman, Scirzzo, lead two of his fellow slavers into Chalmun's. The three approached a mercenary, Dordrius Delare, who was enjoying a drink at the bar, and without warning the shaman struck the man's leg with a heavy hammer.

Dordrius fell down to the floor screaming and all three trandoshans started to crush his legs with massive warhammers, smashing his feet until - as Scirzzo ordered - they were "mere smears of blood on the floor". He finally lost consciousness when his left shoulder was crushed, and the trandoshans spit on him, claiming he was a "follower of the demon Ardanna", whatever that might mean. The slavers then stuffed a piece of parchment into the unconscious man's mouth, presumably a message to this Ardanna, and proceeded to order drinks at the bar to celebrate.

At this point an officer on leave from the First Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force moved to render first aid to the victim, which had been left on the floor, and at once the trandoshans, their bloodlust and cruelty apparently not satisfied, turned on him with threats of violence.

The situation grew tense though stormtrooper backup arrived quickly, at which point the slavers restrained themselves to verbal sneers and anti-imperial slurs while Dordrius was taken to the closest medical center for treatment.

According to the First Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force the incident was a simple case of an officer calling for backup when threatened and that the situation had been under controlled without the use of armed force, but there are also rumors that a flight of two bombers has been sent to Lok on a "surveillance mission".

It remains to be seen whether or not the Brotherhood is planning to not just take on rival slavers but also the Empire itself.

IMC Convoy raided by Thunder Pirates!

Date: 220909
Planet: Tatoo System/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

While it has been a bit quiet about the infamous Thunder Pirates and some even assumed they had met their justified end, this band of cutthroats seems back judging by the events last night.

As every week IMC had sent out freighters carrying ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in Ord Mantell. This time two freighters, the TTC-Tencilia, a YT-2400 class light freighter piloted by Falcun Nix with his gunner Bio-Din, and the Nova Courier "Miss-Beehavin" captained by Bee Debs launched from Tatooine under the protection of two imperial escorts while a freelance escort had to land shortly after launch due to mechanical trouble.

After such an inauspicious start the convoy lost no time getting into even more serious trouble - it was attacked right away by pirates later identified as the "Thunder Pirates" upon entering the Naboo system at the hyperspace jump point "Royal Way". Led by the assumed flagship "Thunder Retribution", a converted Y-1300, the pirates charged the convoy. In the following battle all involved ships sustained damage.

Despite the skilled defense put up by the Imperial escorts and the gunners of the two freighters the pirates managed to get away with half the cargo of the convoy. If the name of their flagship - "Thunder Retribution" - is indicative of their future plans the Thunder Pirates may be posing a greater problem than anticipated for civilian shipping.

IMC shares fell 5 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Brotherhood of Dosh moving against independent slavers

Date: 220909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

With the apparent end of the Twin Suns slaving syndicate following the enslavement of its leader Zevorick Lycanus the Brotherhood of Dosh seems closer to their goal of having a monopoly on slaving in the sector. As our readers know they already settled matters with Aak the toydarian slaver, apparently bringing his organisation under the Brotherhood's control.

Now it seems that they feel confident enough to move on driving independent slavers out of business - by whatever means neccessary. An incident two days ago in the Lucky Despot casino in Mos Eisley illustrates this.

Lucky Despot, Mos Eisley, Tatooine

Aak the toydarian slaver was, as far as is known, presenting a number of new slaves to representants of the Brotherhood of Dosh for inspection when they heard about an independent slaver present in the room next to them.

At once the trandoshans - Iskssi and Karnis according to reports - went after the man, which was later identified as Ansiwa, and first threatenend him, then physically abused him in order to make him give up slaving, leaving the unconscious man on the floor when they were done.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Brotherhood can achieve a true monopoly even if they manage to drive away the independent slavers. With the profits to be had in this sort of business it seems just a question of time until another organisation forms.

Imperial bounty on a Droid?

Date: 220909
Planet: Lok
Region: Imperial Outpost

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Bounties are common in the Outer Rim, where justice is often limited by how much one can afford. Less common are bounties on droids - though rumors claim that the Imperial Outpost on Lok recently put out a bounty on an astromech, a R2-model nicknamed "UE".

Imperial Outpost, Lok

No reasons were given for the bounty but the stipulation that the droid has to be delivered intact to the Outpost points at the droid's memory containing important (and valuable) informations of a confidental nature.

Information of such importance to the Empire would of course be of great interest for the Rebel Alliance as well as various members of the Underworld, and so there might be quite the competition among those who hunt this droid.

Unfortunately there's not much information about the droid in question. Rumors claim it was in possession of the Lycanus family at some point in the past while others claim it was in the hands of jawa traders, or a toydarian merchant.

Stormtroopers secure suburb of Mos Eisley

Date: 210909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After a few more routine patrols a massive force of stormtroopers, supported by scoutwalkers, took control of a suburb of Mos Eisley. Lt. Colonel Welaspic, in charge of the operation as far as is known, did not release a statement yet on the goals of or reasons for the operation.

Since this was the most massive "patrol" so far - more like an invasion, as a resident was quoted - this lack of information is starting to unnerve some of the residents and concernened citizens of means of Tatooine. So far the troopers have not moved to cordon off the cities themselves, especially not Mos Eisley, where a lot of crimes are committed daily, and evne more credits are made illegally, but the presence of so many troopers is sure to have a number of underworld "Businessmen" on edge.

Cynics nevertheless claim that all the good Colonel really wants are heftier bribes from the local crimelords but so far no one has had found any evidence which would prove this - or was too afraid to present it.

Diplomatic Troubles brewing?

Date: 200909
Planet: Tatooine/Talus
Region: Farpoint Valley/New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

New Doros has had some trouble with criminals lately, from murders to muggings and assaults, and as everyone knows, slavers hunt in town as well. Often those criminals seem to be able to act unopposed by the police. But as we heard today the police is busy - busy arresting visitors for alleged "tax evasion". Today Countess Thaesus Andromeda was arrested and charged with that - though it has to be noted that the noblewoman has no holdings nor business in New Doros or Talus, she was just there shopping.

Arresting a visitor - who just brought money to the local traders - for not paying a sales tatx - which almost every town in the galaxy directly deducts through the merchant selling his wares, without bothering the buyers - seems a little harsh, given that others seem to be able to get away with murder and kidnapping.

The New Doros Police HQ

Countess Andromeda had the following to say to us:

During the afternoon of 200909, in the city of New Doros, I was to meet with a contractor about hiring two handmaidens for my newly expanded estate on the planet Naboo. After the meeting, I was apprehended in the New Doros Club by the Talusian Trooper Corps.

Seeing that I was a visiting foreigner from another world, I was unaware of the policies and laws of the Corellian Sector government. As a Nabooian noblewoman, I expect a level of professionalism and decency from the officers of the law. I respect Imperial Law and those who enforce it. I myself am an on leave Imperial Security Bureau agent. My confidant and long-time friend Areta Ra'ja posted my bail in the New Doros Police Station. However, after a few moments of questioning an officer by the name of PVT Smytzki, Le'rai began to ask her to leave. Defiantly, my good friend protested, continuing to repeat herself. This officer began to tell her that she was "trespassing," though she stood on public property. When I appear in court in front of the honorable Justice of Peace I intend on pleading not guilty. I frown at the level of unprofessionalism that was exercized by the Talusian Trooper Corps and their image has been forever tainted in my mind. These are the views of the House Andromeda only, not of the Royal Nabooian Government or Queen Kylantha.

Your Countess,
Thaesus Andromeda

When asked by GNN about the incident, Talusian Governor Cas-Ru Roben had the following to say: I am not going to comment on an ongoing investigation. When asked about the rumors of the local police being biased he did decline to comment as well.

Mayor Kimisei Bythmi, of Farpoint Valley, where Countess Andromeda has taken residence, refused to comment on the policies of other communities, but used the opportunity to state that there was no sales tax in Farpoint Valley, and a much less blunt law enforcement.

Slaver ends up enslaved himself?

Date: 200909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Most of our readers may be familiar with the Twin Suns slaving syndicate, some unfortunate souls may even be too familiar with them and their business. Those slavers have preyed on anyone unlucky to catch their attention for months, mostly in Mos Eisley, and abducted and enslaved dozens of sentients with violent and brutal methods.

For their victims the latest rumor must be a very uplifting piece of news: It seems that the leader of the organisation, Zevorick Lycanus, has been enslaved himself!

While the reports contradict themselves in some details, most agree that he was enslaved by a female lethan twi'lek. This would add even more irony to the story, such twi'leks being known as favorite targets for slavers.

According to another rumor this twi'lek happens to be Liandara Myveth, a businesswoman from New Doros, which is active in both the slave trade as well as corporate security and weapons and defense research and development, but this remains unconfirmed so far.

It is unclear what happened to the Twin Suns Corporation itself - whether it was taken over together with Zevorick, dissolved, or is now operated by another member of the Lycanus family, as Zevorick had succeeded Wulfan Lycanus after the latter's death.

Imperial star destroyers repel rebel attack - bombardment of ground position continues

Date: 200909
Planet: Talus
Region: Nashal

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Talus has been suffering a lot from the effects of the Galactic Civil War lately, with open rebellion in some cities, to restore order Governor Cas-Ru Roben declared Martial Law.

While this has helped quell some civil unrest the Rebel Alliance still maintains a heavily fortified base near Nashal. To avoid costly ground assaults the Imperial Navy started to gather a task force in orbit to initiate an orbital bombardment of the heavily shielded rebel positions.

However the rebel commanders were not about to take this without resistance and gathered a strike force of their own, launching a preemptive strike at the imperial ships massing in orbit.

Imperial escorts gathered from many units, among them Obsidian Dagger Squadron, DFA, Claw Squadron and RID met them and a furious battle ensued, with several waves of rebel attackers coming at them one after the other. Fast A-Wings as well as heavy bombers and X-Wings clashed with TIE Fighters and auxiliary units. Even a Y-8 in Imperial service took part in the battle, valiantly fighting despite the odds as counter attacks were launched by the Imperial Navy. The advantage in the fight switched back and forth, and for a long time no victory for either side seemed in sight.

Finally though the rebel base used to supply the attack waves fell to a counter attack and the insurgents were forced to withdraw, leaving the task force free to conduct the bombardment.

Talusian Grand Prix won by Poe'kunal

Date: 200909
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night, despite the furious and even desperate fighting in orbit above them, the first annual Talusian Grand Prix was held in New Doros. Governor Cas-Ru Roben in person attended the event and the famous Red Bocatts provided entertainment for the spectators while numerous contestants raced their speeder bikes. Ivuur Temryi was serving as race coordinator and encouraged both racers and spectators alike to enjoy the grand prix to the fullest and forget the ravages of war and crime so depressingly present on Talus for a little while.

After several heats Poe'kunal won the Grand Prix and 5 Million credits with 15 points, Validus' Nezumi won second place with 10 points and Fenrisulfr won 3rd place with 5 points. Congratulations!

Twi'lek murdered in New Doros

Date: 200909
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

While Eisley is known as a hive of scum and villainy, other cities seem to be trying to catch up. New Doros is quickly gaining ground in that "competition" as yesterday's events illustrate well.

In the middle of the afternoon patrons inside Club Doros were drawn out by the sounds of blaster fire coming from behind the cantina. The quickest managed to arrive in time to witness the brutal murder of an unarmed Twi'lek woman who was later identified as Te'ne Toba. The victim was killed with a single shot to the head at close range. Local law enforcement was too late to prevent this crime but arrested a suspect. The scene of the crime was cordoned off and on-lookers were interrogated as an investigation was immediately launched.

In what may be a related incident to the murder another unidentified young twi'lek woman was attacked shortly afterwards, close to the scene of the murder. Exact details are unknown at this point but the attack on the twi'lek quickly turned into a firefight involving four armed and armored people, among them a winged woman, with blaster bolts going out in all directions, scattering onlookers. As far as is known the four combattants managed to escape without getting apprehended.

IMEF medic renders first aid to victim of climbing accident

Date: 190909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Tatooine is a dangerous planet for the unprepared - many unwary traveler die from exposure or lack of water in the desert, fall prey to the sand people raiding the dunes and hills or disappear down the maw of a ferocious Krayt Dragon. Even residents and frequent visitors can be caught unaware by a danger and suffer the consequences.

Last night a small group of free climbers scaling a cliff near Farpoint Valley was surprised by a Sandstorm and while not literally blown off the cliff, came close when their descent ended up being quicker than planned.

Fortunately they had not been as high up as to suffer fatal wounds from the fall, but even so all were badly beaten up and had some difficulties reaching nearby Farpoint Valley. There they were taken to Jailbirds while a medic from the 1st Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force, which was in the area on operations, was called in to render them first aid before taking the most seriously wounded, twi'lek dancer Nizzali, to the Mos Entha Medical Center for further treatment.

According to our information all members of the group of free climbers are expected to fully recover from their ordeal. We can only hope they'll plan their next trip a bit more carefully - and watch the local sandstorm reports before starting out. Our thanks go out to the Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force for their quick and effective help.

Obsidian Dagger Squadron patrols Deep Space

Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night an the Obsidian Dagger Squadron, based on Dantooine, conducted a compat space patrol in the Deep Space Sector together with ships from other units. The Imperial Starfighters searched and destroyed rebel forces, although not without taking losses themselves. According to rumors this operation was launched to divert rebel forces from massing for a major operation planned in the near future, but no further information was released concerning this. The rebel ships encountered were almost all either strike fighters or bombers classes so independent experts deducted that there is a ground support or strike at a capital ship being planned.

The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine and was taken from destroyed rebel ships:

Mysterious explosion in Dantooine system

Date: 180909
Planet: Dantooine System

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Two days ago long-range scanners from an imperial patrol picked up a large explosion in the Dantooine system. Since the explosion happened in the Ferionic nebula there was not much more detailed information to be gained from the scanners' result, resulting in a closer investigation by a patrol of TIE Fighters.

At the location of the explosion the ships found a sizable cloud of debris - which subsequent analysis revealed to have been the result of the explosion. A bit away from the debris an escape pod was detected and recovered, but the pod was found to be empty. Judging from the type of the escape pod and the results of spectral analysis of the debris the explosion's cause was a critical reactor containment failure in a Vigo-class freighter. What happened exactly and why an empty escape pod was launched will likely never be known for sure, but there were scorch marks attributed to blaster fire found on the pod's hatch, which indicates hostile action from either inside or outside sources being responsible.

Dantooine orbital station, monitoring the space traffic in the system, had no reports of a registrated freighter going missing so authorities assume the still unidentified Vigo had been either a pirate or a smuggler. According to anonymous but usually well-informed sources the investigation is not considered urgent among the Imperial units assigned to the system.

Stormtrooper presence grows on Tatooine

Date: 170909
Planet: Tatooine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After the investigation that may have prompted the disappearance of Aseani Winfield, former mayor of SandStorm City, Lt. Colonel Welaspic seems to have been busy sending her troopers out to other suspected spots of criminal or insurgent activity. From investigating a crashed TIE Bomber to conducting a reconnaissance in force near Wayfar, stormtrooper presence has been increasing steadily on Tatooine.

So far there has not been any information, only speculation, about Lt. Colonel Welaspic's ultimate goal - apart from her own declaration of intending to restore law and order on Tatooine, but such proclamations have been met with a more than healthy dose of sceptism by Tatooine's residents, and no small amount of amusements by the more influential criminals.

Nevertheless the patrols are out there and the imperial pressure caused by them may cause a reaction by various elements of the Underworld or the Rebellion in the near future.

Armed assault on Jailbirds

Date: 160909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Armed and armored men are not very unusual sight in Farpoint Valley given the town's location near Mos Eisley. When close to half a dozen such individuals gathered at the shuttleport last night this alone was no cause for undue concern among the residents.

When said group moved to Jailbirds, which was closed, and started to shoot at the doors when refused entry that was cause for concern. Fortunately the doors had been reinforced years ago, after an unknown assailant had blown them away with a rocket launcher, and so withstood blaster fire quite well, delaying the attackers long enough two allow the inhabitants of the building - Ramona and Ashley, both members of the Neutron Pixies - to call for help.

By the time the attackers had used disruptors to break through the - also reinforced - walls and had been met by security droids laying down suppressive fire a sizable relief force made up by friends of the dancing troupe, among them captain Ashen' Katarna, Wesleys, Randal and Wranik, had turned up. The manager of the Neutron Pixies, Clarissa Wrenchturner, arrived as well, together with fellow member Tal'Shiva, and confronted the attackers.

For some time a fight seemed imminent while weapons were pointed at each other and people tried to sort out the goal of the attackers - identified as members of a slaving organisation - and tempers started to rise. When Poe'kunal arrived with more reinforcements from Mos Carova the attackers, faced with the threat of getting caught in a crossfire by numerically superiour forces, withdrew.

Repairs were started at once on the breached walls of the nightclub. Clarissa Wrenchturner expressed the Neutron Pixies' profund gratitude for the help provided to them by their friends. Mayor Kimisei Bythmi was quoted in stating that this incident was a private matter and did not concern the town, and that the affected venue's security had been handling it anyway.

Missing Neutron Pixie found pumped full of spice

Date: 150909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Yesterday looked like another typical evening in Farpoint Valley: Jailbirds, situated right next to the landing pad and the Pulsar Compound, opened and pilots and crewmen were gathering to enjoy a few drinks and some entertainment before the IMC convoy would carry them into harm's way.

However the routine was shattered when a thin, haggard-looking woman staggered inside the club, quickly identified by the security system as Senyka Darkeye, a member of the Neutron PIxies who had been missing for years. The dancer was in very bad shape - she was barely able to speak, and did not recognize her friends.

It soon became evident that she was suffering from withdrawal when she collapsed, and then begged for spice - she had to be restrained by the visiting wookiee chef Jiwarri, who had taken a break from preparing the opening of her new diner, when she begged for spice.

With the help from Ashen' Katarna and Falcun Nix the young woman was sedated and laid up in a side room of the club while the people present waited for Doctor Caer Sei'Allon, a bothan of great experience called in from Mos Carova. But even the doctor could not do much more than give Senyka sedatives adjusted to her condition and advice her friends to arrange therapy for the woman.

While Miss Darkeye is getting treated as we write this her fellow Neutron Pixies must be wondering what was the cause of her spice consumption - did she take spice herself and became addicted, or did someone push or even force spice on her? Addicting people to spice is not unheard of as a way to control them.

"Crescent Raven" shoots down another pirate

Date: 150909
Planet: Tatoo System/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

As it does every week last night IMC once again sent a cargo of valuable ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell system. The ore was transported by Captain Ashen Katarna's X-4 class medium freighter "Crescent Raven", which was escorted by pilots Jonoi and Ramona in their fighters and crewed by Clarisa Wrenchturner, Tal'Shiva, Falcun Nix and Silenas Nex, who also acted as imperial liason.

The convoy first encountered troubles when it entered the Naboo system at the Royal Way hyperspace jump point where an unidentified Vaksai made a scouting pass. Jonoi pursued the suspect ship with his X-Wing while Ramona stayed with the "Crescent Raven". Jonoi soon was involved in a dogfight. He managed to shoot the Vaksai down, but was disabled in turn by another Vaksai.

Soon afterwards that Vaksai found the freighter and attacked with a ferocity typical for pirates. Though between the wall of fire put up by the X-4's gunners and the fire from the escorting Scyk the Vaksai was ultimately caught and shot down even though it managed to land several shots. After picking up Jonoi the convoy continued to Ord Mantell without delay.

IMC shares rose 2 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Craftsman murdered near Nashal

Date: 140909
Planet: Talus
Region: Nashal

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

FedDub forces were called to a small town outside Nashal this morning when residents reported a dead man. What the police officers found was evidence of murder: A tradesman was laying on the ground behind the counter in his tent with his throat slit. Blood had pooled on the ground.

While this might have been an ordinary robbery turned murder - with the recent refugee problem and the civil war effects such acts are hardly uncommon anymore - the fact that no items seemed to have been stolen, and that credits were found still on the counter spoke against that theory.

Further puzzling was the lack of any sign of a struggle - the victim either had been killed with complete surprise, or had been rendered helpless by other means, investigations are still going on according to the officer in charge.

As our own research found out the victim had been a craftsman, and haven't had any known enemies. FedDub are looking at his family members for possible suspects.

Jawa deny being responsible for speeder theft

Date: 140909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Whenever a droid or speeder disappears Tatooine residents are likely to blame the jawas, and many residents and visitors of the planet keep a close eye on their possessions whenever they spot one of the small scavengers. How much of that reputation as thieves is based on actual thefts, and how much is based on the fact that the jawas are generally the weakest sentients on Tatooine, and far safer to blame han most of the criminals that frequent places such as Mos Eisley is a matter of opinion, but it's a fact that the jawas are not too infrequently victims of violence, and their reputation is partially responsible for that.

When last night a rodian visitor to the Lucky Despot left the casino only to find his "Flare-S" speeder missing the local jawas were quick to deny any responsibility in the hope of preventing violence directed at them by the rodian or any of his friends. Other guests reported seeing a suspicious human male in the area, but the identity of this suspect remains unknown. One resident was overheard saying that no matter who stole the speeder, odds were it would show up at the jawa market in Northwestern Tatooine in due time.

Whoever may have been the thief, visitors to Mos Eisley are well-advised to be on their guard when leaving their speeders parked.

Former Mayor of Farpoint Valley reunited with long-lost sister

Date: 130909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Clarissa Wrenchturner, manager of the Neutron Pixies, has had a life full of twists and turns. From losing her family to a tusken raid early when she was but in her teens to serving twice as mayor of Farpoint Valley and touring the galaxy she has seen a lot. This week she saw someone she did not expect to see ever again: Her younger sister A'nita, thought lost in the aforementioned tusken attack.

As it turned out her sister - a mere baby at the time - had been found by farmers and placed in an orphanage, with neither sister knowing the other was still alive until A'nita Mistwalker recently found out about her family, and traveled to Tatooine to find her sister.

Their reunion was a joyful occasion and was celebrated together with the recent birthday of A'nita in an open party Jailbirds last night. The picture shows A'nita Mistwalker, Clarissa Wrenchturner and visiting Poe'kunal:

Imperial Navy strikes at Rebel Fleet

Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

In the continuing struggle for control of Deep Space, which seems to be exhausting both the Imperial Navy and the Rebel Alliance, the Imperial sector command launched a new offensive last night, targeting key pilots of the enemy fleet with the objective of disrupting command structures and decreasing overall effectiveness and morale of the enemy.

Units from Obsidian Dagger Squadron, DFA, Onyx Squadron and the RID gunboat "IIS Yomato" under captain Rogrymi' Bivauw battled the rebel fleet, sucessfully exectuing the operation but suffering severe losses in the process.

The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine:

Red Bocatts and Neutron Pixies perform at the Krayt Escape

Date: 120909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Carova

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the Krayt Escape in Mos Carova held a party, courtesy of Poe'Kunal. The name of the nightclub was aptly chosen - the area the town is in is known for the frequent intrusions of the infamous Krayt Dragons, and when it was founded the dangerous beasts were a constant danger until their territory had been pushed back by the expanding frontier of the town and the blasters of its citizens.

The main attraction last night was the performance of the Red Bocatts band, a new formation formed by Doaga Ce'ale, Tamar' Darkmist, Coljo Niham and San'kra Show'nie - and two adorable little mascots, an actual bocatt pet and a jax, who followed the musicians on stage.

The band performed not just two sets with a variety of music styles, but on Poe'kunal's request also sang Happy Birthday for Lula, the bartender of the club, whose birthday fell on the same day as the party.

The only blemish on the evening was a streaker who stormed the stage briefly, but he was quickly taken care of by security.

The Red Bocatts had hired the Neutron Pixies from nearby Farpoint Valley as dancers for their sets, and the manager of the troupe, Clarssa Wrenchturner, showed up with Tal'Shiva, Ramona and Aicha, though the girls wore far more modest stage outfits than people familiar with the troupe might have expected.

The club was packed, and despite some rather colorful - and infamous - guests, many rumored to have ties to criminal organisations, no major incidents were reported.

1st Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force receiving orders for Tatooine?

Date: 110909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: Originally by the Imperial Holonet

Mos Eisley Cantina has long been a haven for all sorts in the galaxy. Criminals of all types tend to do as they please, without the watchful eye of the Empire. Recently, several personnel reported to the Cantina at the request of one of their officers who witnessed an armored figure harassing and threatening a dancer. Though the 1st Imperial Marine Expeditionary Force command based off of Rori refuses to discuss specifics of the situation, reports indicate that individuals in the Cantina stepped up to assist the aggressor as well as the small Imperial contigent, which was less than a squad.

Lt. General Senshi of the 1st IMEF did give the following statement on the issue:
"Though the end result was not exactly as would be preferred, it is heartening to see others in the galaxy showing their support in such matters. This has shown an indicator that citizens of Tatooine are growing tired of the criminal activity on the planet. All reports and rumours are being investigated, and until all evidence is either confirmed or disproved, no official statements will be given on the particulars of the incident."

Meanwhile, another member of the Imperial military gave an unofficial, anonymous statement:
"Well, it seems three Imperials were seriously injured, and it's not certain what happened to the people on the other side, or how many there were. But command's not happy about this, at all. Rumour has it that General Vellan and Lt. General Senshi are pushing to get troops permanently assigned to Tatooine, and working with other units already stationed there to start cleaning things up."

What will come to pass? Only time will tell. But it has become evident in recent weeks that the Empire is taking more of an interest in Tatooine.

Mayor of SandStorm City disappears after Imperial Inspection

Date: 100909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: SandStorm City

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Our readers may recall the recent report about Lt. Colonel Welaspic's visit to Farpoint Valley, and her plans to crack down on crime and criminals on Tatooine. From what we heard since then the good officer is driving what troops she has hard to make her plans reality.

Patrols of stormtroopers showed up near Mos Eisley, Mos Entha and Bestine - and near Wayfar. While they encountered little resistance from the local population so far - some reports claim animals were a bigger danger - their visit to Wayfar's neighboring town Sandstorm City may have had surprising consequences.

Shortly after the stormtroopers started their patrol - other units had started to put up bases - the mayor of SandStorm City, Aseanie Winfield, disappeared. According to rumors there was talk of an investigation regarding suspicions of political corruption - with the city's closeness and ties to Jabba the Hutt, only a fool would not expect some give and take having taken place - but no confirmed information regarding those charges, or Mayor Aseanie Winfield's current location has come forth.

Aseanie Winfield is best known as a business woman. Lately, however, some rumors claim that she had been involved with local criminals, but most politicians on Tatooine are rumored to be involved with criminals of all sorts, especially Jabba the Hutt and Lady Valarian.

One can only hope the by now former mayor did not get disappeared by others - Jabba the Hutt is not known to be squeamish when he needs his tracks covered.

Slave stabs slave in no-weapons zone

Date: 100909
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

New Doros is starting to become known for the numerous slavers and slaves that live and work there. Aak the Toydarian is among the most (in)famous of the slavers, and his slaves, almost all twi'leks, are a common sight in New Doros.

Less common was the sight of one of his twi'lek slaves, Stepi, getting stabbed by Shy, a lethan twi'lek slave of Governor Cas-Ru Roben, in the cantina of New Doros. How Shy managed to get a knife into the cantina - presumably a no-weapons zone - remains as unclear as the reasons for this attack, though rumor is that there is a strong rivalry among twi'lek slaves, which apparently became violent.

According to all reports the two slave owners settled matters cordially, with Governor Roben sending Aak a monetary compensation, which countered speculation that the slaves were just acting for their owners. Though since other rumors claim that the conflict between the two twi'leks is still going on, possibly involving other slaves, this may not have been the end of this.

Winner of Talus beauty contest enslaved?

Date: 100909
Planet: Talus
Region: New Doros

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Most people are now aware of the risk many sentients - especially twi'lek women - run when visiting Tatooine, especially Mos Eisley, where slavers prowl around the clock, looking for new victims. Not as many may be aware that the practise of kidnapping sentients for enslavement has spread to even so-called civilized places such as the Corellia system, despite many slaving organisations having venues and bases there, such as Aak the Toydarian in New Doros on Talus.

But even those who are aware of the presence of slavers may be shocked at what happened four days ago, at the Talus Beauty Pageant in New Doros. According to our sources the female winner, a twi'lek beauty named Mallana, was captured and enslaved not even a day after the ceremony. By the same reports that blatant and crass act was not just ignored by the authorities but Governor Cas-Ru Roben himself even purchased the unfortunate woman.

Such treatment of a contestant, invited to take part in a pageant, would be shocking even in many of the near lawless parts of the Outer Rim, where this would be considered base treachery, but in the Corellia system, well-known for its citizens love of freedom?

If the reports are true then any sentient in danger of getting enslaved would do well to consider carefully whether or not to risk travelling to Talus - even as a guest.

Infamous slaver Kayla publically beheaded!

Date: 090909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Many of the residents and regular visitors of Mos Eisley may be familiar with the zeltron slaver known as "Kayla", a ruthless woman often wearing heavy armor in tan colors and working for the Twin Suns slaver syndicate. She's been kidnapping dozens of unfortunate sentients and delivering them into slavery in recent weeks alone. She also has been involved in several violent incidents - mostly attacks on other sentients.

Last night she found her end in a side booth of Chalmun's in Mos Eisley, an end as violent as befitting her violent life. While the details are not fully known her last moments were observed by numerous witnesses.

Battered and semi-unconscious, likely the result of earlier abuse, she was dragged to her feet by another armored slaver, then beheaded by what was commonly assumed to be her boss, Zevorick Lycanus, in full view of the cantina's patrons. Lycanus then used a disruptor to vaporize the body, but presented the head to the spectators, mentioning treason. According to numerous eye witnesses he then tied the still bleeding head to his belt, where another head was already dangling.

The reasons for this gruesome murder are not known at this point, but the treason Lycanus mentioned might indicate that there's a power struggle within the Twin Suns slaving syndicate, though the public murder of Kayla likely was meant to scare off both internal and external enemies and competitors.

"Crescent Raven" fights off pirates

Date: 080909
Planet: Tatoo System/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night, after a last round of drinks at Jailbirds, an illustre group gathered in the IMC headquarters in Farpoint Valley for the briefing for the ore transport convoy from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell system chartered by the Intergalactic Mining Company. Captain Ashen Katarna's X-4 class medium freighter "Crescent Raven" as well as the "TTC-Tencilia", a YT-2400 class light freighter were ready to make the trip.

Captain Katarna piloted his ship himself, assisted by seasoned pilot Jamayle Williams as well as noted peformers Clarissa Wrenchturner, Tal'Shiva and Nu'ro, who proved to be as apt at the controls of a ship cannon as on the dance floor. The "TTC-Tencilia" was flown by Caligulo with assistance from Falcun Nix, a veteran courier pilot.

Despite the substantial firepower the two ships carried they were attacked in the Naboo system near Sea of Veruna by first one, then another ARC-170. Both raiders were shot down, though the "TTC-Tencilia" suffered armor damage to the rear, and several plasma leaks as a result of enemy fire. Falcun suffered secondary burns when he repaired the conduits, but he enabled the convoy to forego repairs in the Naboo system and reach Ord Mantell without delay.

On the Nova Orion Station there the crews of the two ships allegedly got drunk celebrating the successful and lucrative trip.

IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

A visit to a spice den on Tammar

Date: 050909
Planet: Tammar
Region: (not revealed)

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Many of our readers may be familiar with the situation of the Outer Rim as it presents itself on Tatooine, due to the numerous reports we publish from that place. But the Outer Rim is much bigger than Tatooine or Lok. One of our reporters - his name is being witheld to protect him from reprisals - is currently touring the Outer Rim on a tramp freighter, and we just received his latest report.

"Tammar is a planet even worse off than Tatooine - no native water sources at all. Any water - needed by most life forms in the galaxy - has to be imported. What would motivate people to visit, much less live in such a place?

For some the answer is profit. Profit made by exploiting the lawless nature of the Rim, and the desperation of many of its residents. Profit such as is being made in what is commonly known as a spice den I recently visited on Tammar.

This particular and aptly named "Pit" is located in an abandoned mine shaft, and doesn't look like much from the outside - though the various ships parked outside may cause an observer to wonder what would attract such attention. A quick trip down the shaft - thanks to the elevator not much of an effort, but still a bit of a risk due to the walls that look like they could crumble any minute - answers this.

In the old mine shaft a devious entrepreneur has installed various venues catering to the weary spacer commonly found in the Outer Rim: A fighting ring, a bar, and a spice den with an integrated strip club. One can see that the owner of the place knows what his clients - mostly smugglers and worse criminals - expect. Not that it would be hard, with many of the visitors loudly asking for nude women and spice even before they reach the bar.

And both was found there aplenty. I fond sentients of all species with their minds fogged by various spices - Neutron Pixie was mentioned several times - watching unfortunate women undress themselves in cabins designed for such displays. If the women were slaves was not clear, but given the presence of several well-known slavers it's only too likely - who would want to work in such a place anyway?

Of course spice, alcohol and criminals combined usually means violence happens, and my expectations were not disappointed - during my short visit I saw an unfortunate man get shot in his knee, then dragged outside - probably left for whatever predators prowled the area at night, and a fight at the bar between two women, with half the room cheering them on, wanting to see more blood and clothes on the floor.

This reporter left the place at that point but such displays likely went on for the whole night, with no one thinking anthing wrong with it. For any civilized citizen of the Galactic Empire, a visit to such a place truly hammers home the need for a New Order, which will spread the protection of law even to such pitiful places.

Obsidian Dagger Squadron attacks rebel transports

Date: 050909
Planet: Deep Space

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night an Imperial task force led by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron attacked rebel forces in Deep Space. Due to the higher than usual number of freighters and transports - mostly YT-1300 and Nova Courier units - encountered it is assumed that the Rebel Alliance had been transporting troops or supplies through the sector when they were detected by the imperial starfighters.

Once contact was made an intense fight broke out, with both sides suffering losses, the rebel transports in particular coming under heavy fire. According to the sector fleet command most transports were quickly destroyed by concentrated attacks.

The following footage was released by the Obsidian Dagger Squadron Headquarters on Dantooine:

Increased Imperial patrols on Tatooine?

Date: 040909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

After the visit to Farpoint Valley by Lt. Colonel Welaspic the town received anotehr imperial visit today - an even more heavy-handed visit. Dozens of troopers patrolled the town.

Lt. Colonel Welaspic later released a press communique:

After reading the article about me the other day, I've decided to make a public announcement:

For far too long, the Imperial management of this sector has been way too lax, making it a breeding ground for pirates, smugglers, rebels and other enemies of the Empire; a place where loyal citizens can no longer feel safe. This is going to change. No longer will only the major cities be the ones with Imperial protection. Effective immediately, Imperial troopers will be patrolling several more locations at random intervals in an effort to weed out the criminal elements plaguing this planet and restore peace and stability.

Long Live the Empire.

- Lt. Colonel Welaspic

Judging by this commuinique it looks like other regions of Tatooine can expect similar patrols. While this may be a boon for loyal citizens of the Galactic Empire other, more free-thinking and free-trading people of the Rim might be less than pleased.

Giant Bird attack in Mos Eisley?

Date: 040909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Eisley is known to be a violent, very violent town, but usually all the violence is caused by sentients using weapons. Not so two days ago when what is reported as being a giant bird attacked a group of people leaving the Lucky Despot casino in Mos Eisley.

While details are not known several people reported that the animal - said to look like a giant peko-peko - was shot at with blasters and wounded several times before retreating into the desert.

Since Tatooine lacks native flying species in that size experts concluded that the animal was either imported, or the result of a mutation - or bioengineering. If it was a wild animal then its chances to survive blaster damage in the desert were estimated to be slim though some experts consider it more likely that it was a trained animal, and would therefore receive medical care by its handler.

Massacre in Mos Entha Medical Center

Date: 010909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Entha

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Entha, known as a much quieter and more peaceful town than violent Mos Eisley, was shaken two days ago when the town's medical center was assaulted by a group of men in tan armor and face-concealing helmets. According to eye witnesses the building's security had triggered the blast doors to prevent the attackers from entering but to no avail - they blasted their way into the building with det charges.

What happened inside could only be reconstructed by the remains found after the attack - which presented a gruesome sight. The police department did not release official information yet, but according to inside sources the whole staff was killed, impaled by what was described as a nail gun. Allegedly the head doctor had been decapitated and his head later found on a pike near the theatre, mutilated. The vault had been breached and the bulding thorougly looted, including credits donated to the charity fund.

Apart from those disturbing news, there were mysterious clues left behind - the Letter L. Both as a wax seal on an envelope left behind, and carved into the head of the doctor. Speculation that this was heinous crime was related to the decapitated doctor is running rampant, but so far no further clues have been found to strengthen this rumor.

Imperial Visit to Farpoint Valley - Demonstration of Power?

Date: 010909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night Farpoint Valley suddenly saw several shuttles drop Imperial Stormtroopers into the town, centered around the shuttleport and landing pad. Then the residents and visitors enjoying their drinks and the Neutron Pixies' performance in Jailbirds were interrupted by a loud noise - a TIE Bomber landed directly outside.

The pilot exited the craft and entered the club, presenting herself as Lt. Colonel Welaspic, recently stationed on Tatooine - in a base in the desert whose location she was not revealing for security reasons. As she explained to Clarissa Wrenchturner, the manager of the Neutron Pixies, security reasons were the cause for the stormtroopers that were sent in advance as well.

After a short chat and the declaration that she was not there to escort private ships - the IMC convoy was scheduled for the same day - the officer left the club and the town again, leaving the audience to wonder whether this visit had simply been a demonstartion of power, or if there were other reasons for this move.

Aak escapes an assassination

Date: 010909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Aak, infamous Toydarian slaver, has been in several tense situations, some of them known to our readers. Usually though he seems to manage to defuse the tension without violence breaking out.

Not so last night when he was visiting the Lucky Despot in Mos Eisley. While the toydarian was talking with a twi'lek anti-slavery activist his bodyguard Ansiwa suddenly noticed a droid that was behaving in an odd manner. He came to the conclusion that there was an assassin hidden in the casino - and was proven true in a brutal way when he was suddenly stabbed from behind and collapsed to the floor, bleeding.

The wounded bodyuard was stabilized by the quick reaction of the medic Bee, who had been enjoying the show on stage, and Agald, who both provided first aid while others started to hunt the assassin, but quickly losing sight of him in the numerous rooms of the casino, despite the alleged use of a flame thrower by an unideintified twi'lek.

This allowed the assassin to return and shoot Agald from behind. Only his helmet saved his life, and only the stimulants provided by Bee allowed Agald fight back. In the rpoicess he got wounded further before he managed to corner the assassin and knock him out.

Aak, the likely target of the assassin, had remained protected by some of his entourage and associates, among them Haruka Toyomasde, during the fighting and was unhurt. The fate of the assassin remains unknown, but some unconfirmed reports claim that Agald saved his life after mutilating him. Given the timing of the events there is some suspicion that the presence of a anti-slavery activist was not entirely coincidental, but others claim that this was an attack by rival slavers given the tensions among the various slaving organisations.

IMC Convoy escorted by Obsidian Dagger Squadron

Date: 010909
Planet: Tatoo System/Naboo System/Ord Mantell
Region: Farpoint Valley/Nova Orion Station

Yesterday IMC sent two more freighters to transport ore from Farpoint Valley, Tatooine, to the Nova Orion Station in the Ord Mantell system. One freighter was the "Aluminum Falcon", a modified YT-1300 owned by Fish-Tec Industries, under captain Zakor and piloted by Oblin, the other was the "TTC-Tencilia", a YT-2400 class light freighter with a skeleton crew - X-Wing pilot Bee acted as gunner. A pilot from the Obsidian Dagger Squadron, Nauvasheena, escorted the freighters, while another member of the squadron, Zeus, acted as liasion and gunner on the "Aluminum Falcon".

Upon reaching the Naboo system the convoy was attacked by an A-Wing and the TTC-Tencilia was heavily damaged before the A-Wing could be shot down. After repairs the convoy continued but encountered another A-Wing. This time though the attacker was shot down quickly in a head to head engagement with the repaired YT-2400.

All ships continued on to Ord Mantell, where the TTC-Tencilia was docked to check the repairs.

IMC shares rose 1 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Violence on the rise in Mos Eisley

Date: 010909
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Eisley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Mos Eisley is known as a violent, almost lawless town, despite - some would even say also because - the efforts by the Mos Eisley Police Department and the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps. Lately however the violent incidents seem to be getting worse.

Last week an armored man attacked a twi'lek in Chalmun's in Mos Eisley, beating her up and - according to some reports - cutting off her right lekku and taking it as a trophy. While the identity of the man is not known at this point unconfirmed rumors claim he was also involved in last week's dispute between the Trandoshan Brotherhood and the Twin Suns slaver Kayla in the Lucky Despot. Also unknown is whether this brutal act was part of the ongoing struggle between slavers, retaliation for a prior attack, or simply the act of a bloodthirsty madman.

But such incidents are just part of the picture. Yesterday Chalmun's, one of the busiest cantina in the sector, was turned in a battlefield more than once when armored and heavily armed sentients of all species clashed violently in what witnesses described as a mixture between a gang war and a civil war - apparently, both rebel and imperial forces mixed it up with thugs and mercenaries, and criminals of all sorts. Fortunately collateral damage seemed to have bene lighter than what was expected.

In addition to this reports of various sentients, mostly twi'leks, being attacked and often kidnapped for various slaver organisations are slowly becoming routine news.
