TIE pilot responsible for loss of yacht?

Date: 080110
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Bestine

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

According to an anonymous source the explosion of the luxury yacht "Pearl of Mantiar" five days ago was not caused by the boarding pirates, but by the blaster fire from the TIE patrol that attacked the pirates. Apparently the TIE Fighter pilot in the lead misplaced a few shots during his attack run and hit the yacht.

ISB is said to be investigating the incident and has arrested a pilot, but they have neither confirmed nor denied this. A Storm Squadron representative announced that the investigation was still underway and that there was no result yet.

Planet: Tatooine
Region: Mos Carova

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the town of Mos Carova, in northern Tatooine, was attacked. Who exactly attacked, and what for, is as of yet unknown. Reports state both that imperial troops raided the town, and that imperial troops aided the town in repulsing trandoshan slavers - so far no clear picture has emerged.

What is known is that several residents and possibly visitors as well as a number of attackers were hurt and the town's medical facilities ended up taxed to the limits of their capacities. The fate of the captured raiders - according to rumors several high-ranking slavers from the Brotherhood of Dosh - remains unknown.

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

In response to last week's attack, and the recent attack on a luxury yacht in the Tatooine system, the Intergalactic Mining Corporation's weekly ore convoy last night was under heavy guard - two interceptors as well as a the Decimator-class ship "Shadow's Eye" of captain Yescek Shadowlight protected Captain Ad'hemar Voltins YT-2400 light freighter "Peregrine".

As it turned out that was a good decision - the convoy was attacked soon after entering the Naboo system, and while Jolson Kell's Interceptor managed to quickly destroy a first raider, a second raider, flying - of all ships - an older N-1 fighter - hit the convoy hard, all but crippling the "Shadow's Eye" in repeated strafing runs and damaging Ashen Katarna's V-Wing before finally being shot down.

IMC shares rose 1.5 % at the Coronet Stock Exchange following the news.

Rogue scientist found dead near Farpoint Valley

Date: 040110
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Farpoint Valley

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Farpoint Valley has suffered from sporadic troubles with wild animals in the past, but they were usually native animals. It was therefore a big surprise when an Acklay was sighted today in the city, near the landing pad. Fortunately a few brave visitors of Jailbirds, among them experienced hunter Melkin Antross as well as Ashen Katarna and Falcun Nix, engaged the beast and killed it before it could hurt anyone.

The group followed the tracks of the animal back to where it came from and arrived at an abandonned house with a broken down door - and two more Acklays. In a short but viscious fight the two monsters were killed. Inside the house the group found a dead woman as well as the remains of what appeared to be a spice lab, smashed and looted, by tusken according to the traces found.

The dead body was later identified as "Denow Howa", a scientist which had been presumed dead over a year ago when human remains found in a stolen and shot down starfighter were identified by DNA scanning as belonging to her. She has been linked to the disappearance of several millions of credits from the accounts of her employer at the time, BT Inc. based in Kadara, Naboo.

As her personal journal revealed, she had been faking her death, and then taken on a new identity after murdering the plastic surgeon responsible for her new face. Apparently she was trying to complete her research by herself, but ran out of funds and started producing spice to acquire more funds for her genetic research - genetic research which used Acklays as test subject.

As it turned out she also was responsible for the murder of Lord Galendo Sirax during his visit to Farpoint Valley half a year ago.

With such damning evidence it's hard to feel sorry for the fate of this woman.

Luxury yacht boarded by pirates and blown up

Date: 040110
Planet: Tatooine
Region: Tatooine system

Story: (Written by the Galactic News Agency, Ramona doesn't write IC).

Last night the luxry yacht "Pearl of Mantiar" sent out a distress call in the Tatooine system, alerting the authorities that it was under attack by an unidentified "Vigo"-Class gunboat. Communication with the yacht was lost soon afterwards.

An imperial patrol was immediately sent to the coordinates given but when the TIE fighter arrived it found the yacht in the process of being boarded. The starfighters engaged the gunboat at once, but could not prevent the pirate from undocking. During the undocking process the "Pearl of Mantiar" suddenly exploded for as of yet unknown reasons. The gunboat managed to escape afterwards.

The "Pearl of Mantiar" was the personal yacht of the Isariani Family, a noble house of Mantiar, and at the time of the incident Lady Isariani, second in line to the family fortune after her elder twin sister, was using it for a tour of the Outer Rim.

While the system authorities consider it very unlikely that Lady Isariani survived her family announced a reward of 1'000'000 credits for the safe return of her daughter.

Firefight at D'layne Estates

Date: 040110
Planet: Talus
Region: D'layne Estates

Story: By the Talus Correspondent

Last night D'layne Estates, just South of New Doros and North of Casablanca, was the site of a rather vicious fire fight between several unidentified personnel. Residents of the area had noted an increase in security around the estate throughout the day for an unknown reason. Several other cities in the area, to include Casablanca, and New Doros had reports of increased activity from bounty hunters and their droids. It would appear the hunters found their mark, or at least thought they did at the Estate.

Reports from local citizens say that blaster fire and explosions could be heard from inside and around the main manor for about 5 minutes before all went silent. Just prior to this three armored individuals, one with a giant lizard of some sort, had entered the compound stating they had tracked a wanted individual there. In the last two minutes of the apparent fighting some witness indicate that it sounded as if the droids in the estate had activated, and come to the defense of whoever was being attacked in the compound.

Only moments after the fighting ceased, A human male and an armored Twi'lek appearing to have a tail, were seen fleeing the scene on speeder bikes, the human male apparently had another armored figure draped over the front of his bike as the sped away to the east. Shortly after, their armor not looking as good as it did going in, the three armored individuals, suspected to be hunters, had been seen departing, with their pet being carried out.
